is there a way to add locations to route – and it optimize route ? For instance I might want to list all locations inside a certain geographical area or with services for that day and want map to show best route with start and end points defined… a,b,c,d,e routes..

Hi. I can’t seem to get a marker to show up for my set center location? Am I missing something simple? Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry for the late response. I was out. The center point of the map will be the post coordinates. When you create a new post, you add coordinates (lat,lng) indicating its position on the map, right? So when you try to display that post’s map, you provide its ID in the shortcode like in the example below, then, the map will use that post’s coordinates as the center point.

It seems a nice plugin but to use it in my project I need to know if is possible to hide some Google Maps categories. I mean, I don’t want to show in my map for example “Dentists”. Can I hide this category and show the others categories?

Even if I have to do it with CSS is good solution for me.

Hi,

Sorry for the late response, i was out. Yes you can hide the categories you don’t want to use.

Thank you

Can you provide an explanation of how to get the center location map marker to appear?

Hello! I’m having some troubles with the filter and visual side of the plugin, as you can see on the site http://www.vipescapemallorca.com/beaches/

1) I cant change the sort mode 2) I can’t add more taxonomies to the filter, I can’t see them :( 3 I can only see the first taxonomy of the list in “Services” even if I add more than one

Thanks!

Quick question, how can I show a map on the post with only the marker of that post and the default settings?

Can this plugin add a location (found in google places search) to wordpress database? Ie. get place & details & map all fields to custom post type?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. This plugin loads the places from the database of Google Maps, you can use it to load/store places from/in your database .

Thank you

Marker is not showing up on the Nearby Place map. I am only using 1 map on the page. I tried using customized and default marker but both don’t work.

Under Progress Map menu > Default Map Settings > Map Center is already at the center point. But there is no marker.

Hi,

Did you add the ID of your post in the shortcode. If you have no post to show, the map will be centred to its center point but no marker will be displayed. Please send me the link of your map to check this.

Thank you

hi i am looking for a plugin that i can suggest items based on geo location of user can i used this

Hi,

This plugin can do this but please note that you can’t use it to add your own items. This plugin uses the data provided by Google Places only.

Check the second map in the demo page to see what i mean, https://codespacing.com/wordpress-plugins/nearby-places/

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for creating such a cool plugin. I am having some trouble creating the widget that is displayed on the demo page of the plugin. I would like the map to appear on the bottom of each IDX listing page. This way the potential home buyer can search and find the nearest Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s, schools, parks, and other places near the listed home on that same page. Furthermore, I would like the plugin(nearby places) to also work the same way on another IDX page. Is this possible with the Nearby Places plugin? I understand that Progress Map is necessary for Nearby Places to function. I have that plugin also.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As long as you provide the coordinates of your IDX entries, yes, you can use the plugin for all your IDX pages. I think, you’re looking for a PHP code to use inside your IDX listing page that allows displaying the nearby map instead of adding the shortcode for each of your IDX items. If that’s what you need, here’s the solution. Add the following code where you want the map to appear and that’s it:

<?php

$post_id = 'GET YOUR POST ID AND PUT IT HERE';
echo do_shortcode('[cs_nearby_map post_ids="'.$post_id.'"]');

Thank you

Hello, I would like to translate the categories of google map locations.

https://s8.postimg.org/t9q0bx8d1/nearby.jpg

Hi,

You need to translate them using GetText. https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/

1. Look inside the plugin folder “nearby-map/languages”.

2. Edit the file “cs_nearby_map-en_EN” via poedit or alternative software. Generate your language.

3. Create a new folder inside ”wp-content/languages” and name it “cs-progress-map”.

4. Paste your files “cs_nearby_map-pt_PT.mo” & “cs_nearby_map-pt_PT.po” in the folder “wp-content/languages/cs-progress-map”.

The plugin will detect the language of your website and display the appropriate text.

Thank you

Hello, I’m here again. The center marker does not appear. Even if I put the defaut or the custom option, the marker does not appear. What can be wrong?
