Can you guide me on how to setup the map with a search exactly like option 2 in your demo of nearby places.
My client has purchased your plugin, i can provide you with the information,
Can you please help me set this up.
Thanks in Advance
For support, please contact me using the account you or your client used to purchase the plugin.
Thank you, your client “dshiladitya” has confirmed the purchase code.
About your issue, you need to add the attribute “geoloc” in your shortcode. Here’s an example:
You can find more about the shortcode attributes at https://codespacing.com/wordpress-plugins/nearby-places/documentation/
Thank you again
Hi Codespacing, in reply to wishmaster438 ’s comment

About your issue, you have a conflict in your website because it uses two jQuery libraries in the same time. You need to use one jQuery instance.
The first instance is http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.js and you need to remove it.
The second instance is http://www.janapriya.com/dev/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.12.4 and it’s the one you need to use.
Please fix that issue and let me know if the map works.
I removed but still same issue.
Can you please send me the link of your map and the login to email@example.com to check this. I’ve removed your previous comment that contains the login and i don’t remember your website URL. Please mention your username (thirubotla) in your email.
I sent mail to you, please check
Just emailed you.
Hi, I just installed the plugin but in the backend is not possible to set :
Place types Layout
(I don’t see any field)
How is possible to integrate with Progress Map? Thank you, Marco
Please note that the extenstion “Nearby places” requires the plugin “Redux framework”. Please download and install it from https://wordpress.org/plugins/redux-framework/
I bought this plugin for my project. Can we add custom near by locations instead of fetching data from Google library? I mean i will enter Hospitals, Schools name, latitude and longitude? So if i click on hospitals only the locations i prefer to show will be displayed?
Unfortunately no. The plugin uses only the data provided by Google Places.
Do you offer customization service?
Sorry but i don’t. My schedule is already full.
pre sale: hi i have see your nearby places demo i have question that is there any way to show both search locator and category places because categories appears when i make any search.
and auto select current location by default
Unfortunately, there’s no option to do that.
Thanks for your support. I was able to setup the map.
I am facing an issue tho, dont seem to knw how to fix it. when i click the check geo location button on the search it does not track my location. I tried this on my laptop and my phone, both showed the same issue. Is there something i am missing?
Is your site runing on SSL? Please note that the geolocation doesn’t work on non-secure origins and if so, you’ll have to switch to SSL. You can find more about this at https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/04/geolocation-on-secure-contexts-only
Hi, very excited to have just discovered your addons.
Can I check, would any of them show a route map with various staypoints? E.g. Denver to Rapid City to Yellowstone to Jackson Hole to Salt Lake City?
You can do that actually using the route map available in “Progress Map”. You can see an example here https://codespacing.com/wordpress-plugins/progress-map/demos/route-map/
With the addon “Nearby places”, you can only display nearby places provided by Google Maps. It’s usefull if you want to show your visitors all points of interests they can find nearby a location.
Your example looks amazing. Is there a tutorial on how to set this up or is it easy?
Is it a case of … create a poi post and then on another post type I can link to these poi posts to create a route? How is this done? Thanks
The route map connects multiple posts by a route. As i told you before, the route map is already included in “Progress Map”. It’s has nothing to do with “Nearby places”. I remember you already have “Progress Map”, so please update to the latest version to use the route map.
All you need to know about the route map can be found at https://codespacing.com/wordpress-plugins/progress-map/documentation/shortcodes/shortcode-cspm_route_map/
Great thank you for the link .. that explains it really well .. looking forward to trying it out!
Is it possible to have a route map while also showing nearby places as maybe the browser zooms in around the staypoints on the route?
Hi, I’ve got the route map working great with a list of POI posts I have. I can see that there is some control on what is shown when you click the POI marker in terms of link to the post, title, image, or even post content.
So, here’s the question … and this would be amazing!! ... if I used Nearby Places and had a map for this for each POI on the post … is there a way I can for example:
- browser clicks the POI marker from the route map
- up pops the POI’s title, image, short description and a nearby places map
Not sure if this is best as a lightbox or maybe I can expand a section on the page or maybe just hyperlink to the post … but staying on the route map page would be ideal for browser experience.
Yes, you can do that. What you need to do is to set the post format to “Link”, then, in the single post page, simply paste the nearby map shortcode. As a result, when you click on a marker on the route map, this will popup the single post page which contains the nearby map.
You can see an example in the route map demo https://codespacing.com/wordpress-plugins/progress-map/demos/route-map/ . Click on the last marker (on your right) to open the single post page which contains the nearby map.
Hi again … am just trying out the nearby places map. I would like to show for examples points of interest, viewpoints, activities, things to do and hikes around National Parks.
The list of things from Google doesn’t quite match.
I can see a complete list here: https://developers.google.com/places/supported_types
Is it possible to add on: point_of_interest
If there is only one Place option is it possible for the map to display this straight away instead of needing to be clicked?
You can’t add a new place type to the support types. You can only use the types provided by Google.
By default, when you select one place type, the map will display the places list straight away with any user action.
I have downloaded your plugin and it has most of the features I requireI but i am looking to customise it for a app I am building. Do you offer such services? If so at what cost per hour / day?
Unfortunately, i’ll not be able to do the customizations and honestly, i don’t have any experience with apps.
