We use the Nearby Places plugin to show nearby restaurants. Our client would like to hide a few of them (especially the restaurants that are closed).
If the client had control over the items, they could add/remove whatever they want and not load the data from Google. Can we stop the data from being loaded by the Google API and bind the items to a post type instead?
How would you approach this issue?
Thank you for your help!
Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately there’s no way to do that. All data are provided by Google Maps and there’s no way to load data from other sources. I’ll see what i can do to about hidding specific items from the list.
I like your stuff.
Confirm me, please.
Can I direct search for posting by myself?
Or just google?
This plugin works with Google Maps places only. No way to add your own posts.
HI , I have purchased Nearby Places WordPress Plugin and progress map plugin. Already I have installed this . but don’t show search box with localize . Please support and inform as soon as possible .
You need to add the attribute “geoloc” to the shortcode. Here’s an example:

Having a problem getting the marker to show up. I have it set for a custom marker, but you only see the spinning animation and no marker.
Sorry for the late response. From your map settings, i can see that you’re using the default marker icon. Please click on the menu “Progress map” and select the option “Default map settings => Marker type => Customized type”, then, try again. If this doesn’t work, please send me the login of your site to email@example.com to check this and please mention your username (tptide) and this conversation in your message.
Hi, is it possible to have categories without scrollbar?
Yes, this can be done by increasing the list height from the plugin settings.
Sent a message yesterday about Progress Map, List & Filter – WordPress Plugin. Just checking in to be sure you got it. I’m on a deadline.
Just replied to your message.
Before buying i would like to know if this fits my requirement.
I have a custom post type called Projects. While adding single project in the backend, i am giving the co-ordinates for that project (custom field). So can i use this plugin and show near by places for that particular project (using co-ordinates given)? Like can i integrate short-code via latitude, logitude so that admin can pass on lat, long in the backend and i can integrate shortcode in the single-project.php file. I can select the types by default for all projects like schools, hospitals, airport etc..
Please let me know.
Yes you can do that but with one condition. Our plugin requires that you have the coordinates saved in two seperated custom fields, one for latitude and another one for longitude. If this is the case, you can then connect our plugin with your already created custom fields from the plugin settings.
I bought a Progress Map Wordpress Plugin and
Progress Map, List & Filter – WordPress Plugin. How do I connect a carousel with my images?
For support, please contact me from the account you’ve used to purchase the plugin.
Is there any way to hid a specific category? For example, “University”?
Also is there a demo I can try from the admin panel?
Sorry for the late response. Yes you can hide specific category(ies) from the map settings. Unfortunately, there’s no demo for the admin panel.
The map does not display the Snazzy styles, it seems. My shortcode:
[cs_nearby_map post_ids=”87” map_style=”vintage”]
Instead, it loads the value set in ProgressMap > DefaultMapSettings > InitialStyle
Can you confirm?
Place photos are not showing on the demo page.
Can I change to miles instead of km?
Great plugin!!! My question before I buy is… If I have a page about Mexican food, is there a shortcode I can add to ONLY include businesses that offer Mexican food nearby? I don’t just want every business that is nearby and I don’t want to make the visitor choose from a menu when I know what category they are interested in. Thanks in advance.
Marker is not showing up on the Nearby Place map. I am only using 1 map on the page. I tried using customized and default marker but both don’t work. Due to privacy issues, can I send you an email of my site please?
I sent you my site through private message.
The support for this plugin seems to take days. Is there a faster way to get a hold of the developer for people that already purchased this licenses due to tight deadlines purposes sometimes?
Hi, When i add the Nearby places map to my post the map seems to attach a stylesheet which affects the layout of my website, How can i isolate it so the stylesheet only applies to the map
Where is my support?
