Finally a variation plugin with out of stock notice! Great work. I have a feature requests though: Since we have a lot of solid colors but also some garments with patterns I would love to see an image option mixed with color (black / orange / pattern). Would it be possible to integrate?

Regarding downloading the latest versions of plugins and caching issues with Envato, the easiest way to ensure you have the latest version is to use the download link at the top of each plugin’s page. The links provided in our download tabs can take a day or more for the cache to expire older versions.

We want to get rid of the original drop down for variable product items and replace it with this plugin’s features, but we don’t see a place in the instructions to disable the old version, in other words, when we list “weight”, it shows the cool version this plugin offers, and right under that, it still shows the ugly drop-down version.

great plugin from what i can see in the preview. The only thing i^m not sure about is, if the color variations are also visible on the shop archive page and do switch the preview image once hovered over ?
I’ve seen this on various online shops, but never came across a plugin for woocommerce (only magento) that does that.

Well, the settings made within the plugin (for the attribute title and description) are saved in the database. WPML has a system to handle these translations. If your plugin has also some kind of a string translation for the database keys, then yes. And the terms that you’ve referred to are the terms from your attributes within the WooCommerce. So this part should go smooth.

It is important for my customers to know what is the number code for each color variation displayed (some of them choose according to the color, while others according to its code).

What I would appreciate, however, would be an option to set a size of each thumbnail or at least an option how to preserve the original thumbnail size of picture uploaded (the current size is quite small and some patterns are hardly visible).

Well, everybody needs to know a little bit of CSS. This type of controls will never be added as it is better to have a line in you CSS code than a line in your database, 50 lines in PHP and 20 in JS. So..
#ivpa-content .ivpa_attribute.ivpa_image .ivpa_term img {width:50px;}Change your width to what you want and add this code to you theme custom CSS option. Your thumbnails will be bigger and they should keep the ratio. Contact me further if you need more assistance. Thanks!

Also if you would like to change the size of the thumbnail for each attribute then use this..

I’m completely blown away with the visual improvements this has made to my site and how fast Nenad (dzeriho) has been to respond to feature adjustments and bug fixes.

Hi dzeriho Just bought this plugin and excited to get it up and running.
Problem: I’m using alot of attributes for my products, and my problem is that when I ‘Ad Attribute Custumization’ for e.g. color—> all 20 colour attributes are visible on the product page, although the specific product is set up for using 4 colour attibutes for variations.
Question: How can I deactivate/hide unused attributes?

Thank you for a great plugin! I have 2 small issues though as you will see in the screencast below: 1) is there a shortcode I can use to properly add the improved variants to my theme’s quickview window? (KLEO theme). and 2) I have my “size” variants set to allow any color and my “color” variants set to allow any size, yet when I choose a color all the sizes become disabled. This does not happen with the normal WooCommerce drop-down fields.

I also agree with @IABreinraum that tooltips on hover would be very nice. You can see how the TM Extra Product Options plugin does it via my product page under “more color options”: https://iowish.com/shop/kiss-me-im-iowish-t-shirt-bella-canvas/ (choose a color or hover over it to see the tooltip).
One more issue I’m having might be related to the color disables size issue I mentioned above. I have my variants enabled and fully stocked, yet the size buttons are showing as grey (out of stock) and I am still able to click a size which changes it to black (normal state) instead of green (active state). It also takes almost 3 seconds, sometimes longer, just to make a size button activate. This does not happen on other buttons or non-improved fields. See link above for T-shirt for example.

1. Ok, your quick view works as in should. You’ll need to load the scripts on all pages in order to get the quick view. I’ll include this in the next version. What you should do is this. Locate the /wp-content/plugins/improved-variable-product-attributes/improved-variable-product-attributes.php and change the lines from 59-65 with this code.

For #2, all I’m trying to accomplish is to replace the ugly woocommerce drop down boxes with nice looking color swatches, et cetera so I may have confused what this plugin is for. I personally do not need the out-of-stock functionality or alternative grey/red look for unavailable options – I would prefer nonexistent options not even show on the screen, I just need the CSS styling for my attribute fields to make them look good. Is that possible?

the script change you supplied did fix the layout in my quickview but the attributes cannot be selected and they are not in a disabled mode, just not really functioning. I have faith that this is an easy fix and I’m glad to help you work the bugs out.

Based on existing product attributes and their styles that you’ll set within the Improved Variable Product Attributes plugin, globally and automatically the new and improved variations selection will be available on your single products. Nice plugin. The only issue i have is that it is not noticable, which attribut is clickable and which is diabled. Perhaps you should put an X over these attributs like here: http://www.hm.com/de/product/63278?article=63278-A&cm_vc=PRA1#
It would also be nice to have a tooltip if you hoover over an attribut (especially color) so you can see what it is.
One other suggestion: A combinated product with your ajax filter would be nice, in which you only have to set the color, size and picture attributs once and than you can use theme both for the woo attributs and the ajax filter.
Another question: Will the attributs also be shown on product quick view on category pages if a theme has this function?

This plugin only customizes the product attributes. Unfortunately you cannot set such a thing using the attributes.
