Does this work if you have your permalinks set to “post name?” I bought the Total theme and have the visual composer as part of that, but for some reason when I click on an object to edit it, it takes me to a 404 error page.
Yes it does. This can be a common WP problem. Try this: navigate to settings->permalinks and simply click save changes button. This should regenerate few things and hopefully will solve your issue.

I currently use Theme-Fusion’s Avada theme for WordPress which contain their own shortcode (or “shortcode generator”, as they title it). I read that Visual Composer has a “Shortcode Mapper” – does this mean VC will automatically populate the shortcodes already installed from the theme as well as third-party plug-ins I have purchased that use a widget and/or shortcode, and put them into the list of available elements?

As for Shortcode Mapper – it is not automatically as we allow users to decide which shortcodes to map. But it is really easy to do, as all you have to do is just copy/paste shortcode with params and VC will do all the magic. Then you will be able to adjust your mapped shortcode to include or exclude parameters you do not want your users to control.

I try to update visual composer via Wordpress, but it says : Error! Envato API error: Username and/or API Key invalid. I have the good license key, and the good API, so I don’t understand. Moreover, there is no more synchronisation of the template with templatera, since I have updates Wordpress 3.9.1. Please, what are the solutions ? Thank you

Hello,
I have your plugin included in my Jupiter and Patti Theme. It works super great! However I have an Accordian in one of my VC Templates with just one item in the accordian to basically open up an enquiry form. Once I publish my post/page it adds an extra two sections for my accordian every time. Are you aware of this bug? And if so when will it be corrected so I can update it via my theme please.

For some reason, when I am trying to open any topics – i am getting only blank page in my browser.
I understand that I didn’t purchase the plugin directly, but I believe, i am using this plugin legally. So what is the solution to get access to the support forum.

Hi, our support system and automatic updates are core features which are available only for direct purchases of VC. Also as we rely on support ticket system now there are no possibility to check them as some of them contains sensitive data.
P.S. Blank screen most likely is a result of low memory on your server (hosting). 4.2 release will take care of some performance issues.

VC’s content is outputted in your site’s content area and in majority of themes that container is fixed width. VC can’t go beyond that (parent container). This can be achieved only with custom coding which can’t be standardized and it differs from theme to theme

Hi, we are not related to Patti theme in any way. If you received VC in a theme you got the version without possibility for direct updates from WPBakery. You have two options – either ask your theme author to update VC and push it to you or you can consider purchasing direct license for VC from us – then you will receive free lifetime updates of VC.

When will the bugs reported by theme x fixed?
Does the front end editor reliably work? No one seems to be using it.
As we know X theme has modified Visual Composer a lot to fit their wishes, so we are not aware of bugs they are having. If you are experiencing problems with VC and X theme please let your theme author know about them so he can take actions. Also we are not aware what X theme does with frontend – according to our analysis a lot of users use Frontend editor on daily basis.
p.s. VC 4.2 will be released in the upcoming days and it will solve problem reported by X theme authors about godaddy hosting.
Is it possible to customize the button “Publish”? I want to put a image instead of the Text.
You can do that with CSS. you should load css file and modify look fo the button. But I don’t think this is a good idea, WordPress is using text “Publish” so do we to keep things clear and easy to understand.
For some reason the “Duplicate” icon for widgets no longer works. I’m working locally and can not share a link sorry.

I am having problems with POSTS GRID elements. It doesn’t calculate correctly the width and if I chose 4 columns it will display only 3 leaving empty space on the right, if I chose 3 will display the cnt in 2. What can be the reason for that.
If I stop the javascript the layout is displayed correctly if it is 4 cols it shows in 4 cols

You can try to hide VC, but we can not guarantee that it will work properly as we do not test plugin such way. We rely on ThemeForest guidelines about plugin integration into themes.

I have buy the sentinel theme of freshface. The visual composer is a preinstalled extension of this theme, but I doesn´t work after update WP. I need to update the VC too, because I can´t see any content of sites and posts in “visual” mode. Can you give me the license to update the plugin? My version of VC is 3.7.3

Please make sure that you are using latest VC version we have fixed that already. Ask your theme provider to include newer version or purchase directly from us in order to receive free lifetime updates automatically.

Hi, first you need theme which allows content to be placed full width. If so you can insert a row via VC, choose Edit Row and go to tab Design Options where you can control such things as background.
