Hello
I cannot edit the previosly created maps. I see a list of maps I have created.
When I click on edit action.. It takes me to select a type of map rather than letting me edit the current map.
Please help me out.
Hi Yatek! I’ve been very very foolish and made an edit directly to the DB in order to swap one map with another after all the marker info had been entered in already (by my client). I guess I had just enough experience with DB’s to be overconfident. Now, when you click on the map in question in the back end, it doesn’t go to the existing settings and pin info, but instead asks you to choose another map – and then, I get a blank map with no pin info.
I do see the DB record that has the long string containing all the pin info – and have saved that. But I can’t seem to get MapSVG to accept that info any longer and show the pins again.
I see also that MapSVG creates a post and stores the map info in wp_postmeta. But I must be missing something since simply changing the filename of the map in the postmeta record just made the control panel stop displaying all the pins.
I’m hopeful that in a few steps and/or by re-editing a DB record or two I could restore the pins – and hopefully have them apply to the corrected map. (One region had the wrong ID/name assigned to it).
If (as I suspect) this is way beyond the acceptable level of forum support – plus, of course, all this is entirely my own fault – I can certainly pay you for your time. Let me know. Many thanks.
Adam
I’ve been able to hopefully get the DB rolled back to a backup from before I messed things up. Assuming that works out, I’d just need to know the proper procedure for updating a map without losing all the pin info already added to it. (The map would simply have a few regions given different ID’s). My client has already placed 120+ pins, and I don’t want him to have to redo it all…!
Thanks! adam
Hi again Yatek. Turns out that more than simply swapping in a different version of a map without losing the pins, I have a much more serious problem. The map currently showing on my client’s site – and on which he added 130 or so pins! – can no longer be edited: if you click it in the MapSVG control panel, it prompts you to select another map. Of course, I’m not going to do that as I’m pretty certain it would destroy all the marker info.
I’m sure this isn’t due to any problem with your plugin, but with the slightly irregular things I had to do with my database in recent days. Leaving that aside, I’m faced with this minefield situation. Can you advise on how I can repair the DB and restore “editability” to my client’s map?
Many, many thanks.
Hi there.
I noticed that your documentation is built using Bootstrap so I have a question – is it possible to have the region/state bring up a modal (as in http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#modals ) when clicked? At the moment, I am using the no-label US map and would like a modal to pop up when the user clicks on a state.
Thank you!
What are the new fixes/features for 1.6.3? Thanks!
there is “_changelog.txt” file now in root folder. Fixed bugs with markers positioning also fixed conflicts with other plugins.
Hi Yatek, the plugin is amazing! Great work.
How hard would it be to enable PHP coding in the popover sections for the regions?
At the moment, it only renders HTML. But if it could also render PHP, then we could also use shortcodes! Any ideas?
Hi, too hard I’m afraid.
How do I change the colour of links in the popup box? I can’t find it in your CSS.
Hi, I just replied to your email
Thanks very much
Sorted!!
Would like to know can I put Canada, USA and Mexico on the same page? Thats what I need before I buy it. Also, can I customize the popup? As in put images, phone number and email?
Thanks! If so I will buy it because I don’t have to use Snap.svg to make this map.
Hi, yes you can put multiple separate maps on same page. And you can customize popover content, put in images, etc.
Hi Yatek,
I’m unable to get the region URL’s to work for states? I’m not sure how to get this working, here’s a link to an example http://res.andrewpfund.com/locations/
When I click a region nothing happens.
This is what shows up in the html for a region <path id=”FL” style=”...” fill=”...”><title>http://res.andrewpfund.com/locations/florida-puerto-rico/</title></path>
Hi, sorry for the delay, strange issue, please contact me through my profile page, send me you WP login/password – I need to run some tests. Probably a conflict with some other plugin.
Hey Yatek, I had contacted you with a response, did you get a chance to look into this issue?
I really need to get this working.
NEVERMIND! Got it working. Thanks for looking in to my problem before.
Is there a way to upload a custom marker after you have already installed the plug-in on Wordpress?
I have already populated a map, and just found the custom marker option—but it tells me to upload the custom marker to the folder, but I don’t know how to do this without uninstalling and reinstalling the plug-in.
Just trying to save some time here. Tell me if this makes sense.
You need FTP or SFTP client which allows you to browse files on you server. How did you install WordPress?
THE MAP DON’T WORKING!!!!
Can’t create new map! My steps: MapSCG (menu) – Add new map – Worl_high.svg – Save After this the page just reloaded and nothing. If i going to Markers bookmark i see Loading map (http://clip2net.com/s/6KoLai)
Wordpes 3.8.1
Help me please! I want to use this map!
Hi, did you sent me an email? (may be I already replied by email so I don’t want to repeat myself here). Is it your website? http://laextra.mx – if it’s not yours then please send me your login/pass for WP and I’ll take a look.
I send you my admin access on email.
Map still NOT WORKING!!!!
(everything was fixed)
I didn’t see this question posted and I’m sorry I couldn’t figure out. But is there a simple way to create a reset button? So that if you select multiple paths and wan’t to reset them to the original state you would just hit a reset button?
jQuery('#tab_regions').find('input, textarea').val('').attr('checked', false);
Hi Yatek,
After posts here and several messages by email i have no news from you.. I have problems with the javascript tab of your plugin. None of my script have an impact on the map. If i put one of your example :
function(event, mapsvg){ alert(this.name); // Show country name }
Alert doesn’t work… Can you help ? How can i control popup and region with this part ?
Thanks.
Jérôme
Hi Jerome,
You’re right, I found a problem with “onClick” field, all other fields should work fine. I’ll upload an update today to CodeCanyon.
Hi Yatek, thanks for your answer. Waiting for your update
Can you give me some more informatiosn about controling popover with the javascript tab ? Thanks
Hi, I can’t import Markers, says: Please wait, fetching lat/lon coordinates from online API…
I have a CSV with LAT/LONG, I would need import.
Attach my URL file: http://www.lepsec.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/marksFinal.csv
Thanks for all!
Hi, when you hover mouse pointer over red button “Import CSV” you should see a popover with instructions. It’s said there “export CSV file with comma ”,” as a field separator and double quotes ” ” as field wrapper”. Meanwhile in your CSV you use ”;” sign as a field delimiter and no double quotes as a field wrapper.
Please, can you send me CSV file example, I have tried in many ways and not is possible. Thanks.
Hello Yatek,
I”m using your map to display simple logistic routes for Canada and the US. I’m having some issues with the compatibility of the mapping with bootstrap 3 and figure it might be the jquery script error because the webpage just shows “loading map” box in the middle.

Regards,
Chris

As you can see your page can’t load .woff font file from Bootstrap and .svg file from MapSVG. It can be caused by two reasons: 1) Paths are incorrect or files are missing 2) Your server (Apache?) have too strict security settings which doesn’t let to load files of “strange” types (such as .woff and .svg).
Also I noted that you have 2 empty lines before ”<!DOCTYPE html>” – and this line MUST be the first line in the file or you might get some unexpected problems.
Hi Yatek! I’m trying to put a div to the side of my map, but it keeps sinking below. I’ve tried a bunch of approaches without success and just can’t figure out what’s happening – can you have a quick glance and advise?
Here’s the link with the problem:

Hi Adam, that’s simple CSS… Just move your [div id=mapSideList] before [div id=”mapsvg”]. Don’t change anything else.
Thank Yatek! That does work, however the reason I wanted to keep the map first in the order, was that on mobile devices I want to have the list follow the map. But that’s not possible (as far as I know!) unless the map comes first. Try viewing that page and narrowing the window and you’ll see my dilemma. Thanks!

Hi,
This looks like the perfect solution for what I need – however I’ve noticed that on your examples pinch to zoom doesn’t work on Android (both in the default browser and Chrome) – is there any chance of a fix for this before I purchase? I notice you’ve said in previous comments this will be fixed in the next release, but it doesn’t seem to work for me at the moment – do you have a date for this fix?
Thanks!
Very impressive Yatek. Two questions:
1) I only need to use one country map. Can this be made to load relatively lightly? With the demo it’s difficult to tell how large the download is.
2) I’ll only need most of the javascripts to load on one page – the map page. And it looks like it’s a number of files, css, etc. Does the plugin limit the load only on the map page (I think wpqueue will manage this.)
usa.svg (map file) - 90Kb mapsvg.min.js - 36Kb raphael.js - 91Kb jquery.mousewheel.min.js - 1Kb
Hi again Yatek! Thanks for your help with my problem embedding a map into my template. Of course, now I have a further question… not a problem exactly but I’m hoping something is doable.
Is there any way to connect metafields in WP to your plugin? I envision adding a couple of metafields so my client can add latitude and longitude values to each of his posts (each of the posts represents one location I want to show on the map). Then if your plugin could somehow grab that info, along with the standard WP WP_Query methods, so I could “plug in” the title, name of the location, and link to the post, in the popup box – as well as have the marker appear correctly using the coordinates from the post.
A pipe dream? Or possible?
I assume this info would live wherever the .csv file info (for the two maps that support it) is stored.
Which connects to my other question: can I create my own .csv file for other maps? The two provided ones that work with such a file, don’t include the Canadian provinces, which I need. I’m using another map I found which has all the province (as well as the states) in it.
Basically, I’d love to have a simpler way for my client to add these markers than by having to find each location on Google Maps, find the same spot on the SVG map in your plugin’s settings, click to add the marker, and then enter in all the info by hand. Since all this stuff can be accessed via the WP database.
Let me know… thanks! Adam
Hi again Adam,
Everything is possible, but I hope you understand that this goes beyond my free support. So you can try to look into mapsvg.php file and try to realize how to extend plugin’s code do that by yourself or ask me for paid development (via email please).
Right, I totally understand – I know that if you needed to add anything like that it would be a paid job for sure. I’ll have a look at the mapsvg.php file and see if I can do anything… if not I might be in touch. Thanks!
Hi Yatek! This is a beautiful plugin, I love it sooooo much! I just have a tiny problem. I’m using a background image as well for my svg. So I want everything to look transparent except for the hover over and selected state. I would like those to highlight. But when I set the base to ‘transparent’ and the hover to a hex color it doesn’t work. The hover color seems to only work when the base color has a color. Is there a way to get around this?
You can see my map at atlantacraftsmanhomes.com
rgba(255,255,255,0.5)
That worked perfectly, and now I can change the opacity too. Thank you so much for your help! This plugin is great!
glad to help
