When the WPML is active, the Menu by user role plugin does not work. Is there something that I can do?

Thank you for buying the plugin. We are not aware of any problems with WPML and Menu by User Role. However you will need to submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide wp-admin access. You can add the login credentials to the ticket and we will review this.

Hello, I am having some trouble with this I submitted a ticket but haven’t gotten a response yet.

I’m ticket #9401

:) Thank you!

We will take a look at this asap.

I am looking for a plugin with the following capabilities:

Show/hide Menu Show/hide Page, Post, ... Show/hide Content

This should be able for:

1. Visitors (not logged in) 2. Users (logged in) 3. User roles (logged in, multiple select from available user roles) 4. Specific users (logged in, userid) 5. User groups (logged in, based on definitions mentioned under 2/3/4)

Any suggestions/ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Eric

The Menu by User Role and the Pages by User Role would be perfect for this.

The Menu by User Role allows you to create separate menus for users not logged in and for users logged in (even for each different user role in your site).

The Pages by User Role let you set whether users can access or not access a page, post, custom post type or category. By default a page, post or custom post type is hidden from the menu if a user role doesn’t have access, but you can also choose to show it and then redirect users to a specific page or to a login if they try to access it.

You can also display different content to users in the same page based on their user role.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi There,

Would it be possible to achieve the following with your this Plugin:-

if a user is not logged in :- they see a menu on the top and the menu title is “Login”

after they login, the see a mney on the top and the menu name is “my account”

I can log a support ticket if that’s a possibility ?

Thanks for your time

Thank you for buying the plugin. Yes, that is possible to show one menu for visitors that are not logged in and another menu for users that are logged in. And you can even show a specific menu for each user role.

Thanks for your response , we have logged a ticket asking for some spoon feeding, if you don’t mind :)

Hi there

This might be what I’m looking for, the only function I need is: A login for a user to edit 1 page, no access to anything else.

Is possible with this plugin?

Menu by User Role is not for the wp-admin. It is for showing a menu in the front end. You can create a menu for users that are not logged in and users that are logged in and you can create menus for each User Role.

You want to tweak the WordPress capabilities so that your user can only edit the pages that he/she creates. You can use our White Label Branding for WordPress for this. The White Label Branding for WordPress is for tweaking the wp-admin.

Hello,

If I create a User and they can view a menu, that displays page1 page2 page3 page4, would only that class of user be able to view those pages? e.g. So if a general webvisitor came to the site and went to page1, they would be redirected. Is that the case?

I am uncertain whether this OR the Pages by User Role plugin would best fit my needs, can you clarify?

Thank you.

Pages by User Role and Menu by User Role play really well together and they work great with our other plugins.

Meny by User Role for WordPress is for showing different menus based on the visitors user role. If you look at the site you will see a Public Menu. That is the menu, which is shown to visitors that are not logged in. If you then try and login using the different user role login credentials http://menu-by-user-role.righthere.com/try-it-now/ you can see different content based on your user role.

The Pages by User Role for WordPress does a similar thing, but still different. You can restrict access or allow access to pages, posts, custom post types and categories. And you can display different content in the same page based on the visitors user role.

You can try and acces this page http://plugins.righthere.com/pages-by-user-role/editor/ – not being logged in or logged in with a user role not allowed to view this page. You will then be redirected to a “no access” page – you can redirect the user to any page you want or even the default login.

This page shows how you with shortcodes can display different content based on the user role http://plugins.righthere.com/pages-by-user-role/restrict-access-to-content/ – try and login. After login go to this page http://plugins.righthere.com/pages-by-user-role/restrict-access-to-content/ – then you will see content only visible to the Editor.

I hope this makes thing more clear.

I am having an issue, the plugin works on a regular browser, but it does not work on mobile. How can this be resolved?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you for buying the plugin. Submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com please.

cannot install and cannot update your plugin

I don’t understand what you mean? Download the plugin from Codecanyon and simply install it. The license key you also get from Codecanyon – when you click on the download button you get a drop down.

The person who copied our plugin has removed it from wordpress.org, so you should no longer get the warning.

If you need us to take a look at your site please submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com. We will be happy to help you.

SIR I BOUGHT MORE THAN 70 PLUGINS. I KNOW HOW TO INSTALL THEM. IT DOES NOT WORK! ARE WE CLEAR. I CANT LOG TO YOUR SUPPORT PORTAL AS WELL. OF COURSE I KNOW HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE LICENSE KEY

There is no need to shout!

If you know how you download the License Key then copy and paste the license key from the txt file and then use it to gain access in our Help Desk. We have 8,000+ users that have created accounts.

If you still can’t get it to work then send me an email on info@righthere.com including your license key and we will validate it for you.

I got the same notification from the plugin section about a new update v1.5.0. It points to a plugin in the wordpress repository.. looks like the same plugin too?

Thank you for buying the plugin. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, but this happens because some guy plagiarized our plugin. Back in November 2013 we submitted a DMCA and he removed the plugin from wordpress.org. Now he has apparently submitted it again and just changed the author and renamed the variables. And added his own copyright message. The syntax and file structure is exactly the same.

This image shows his file to the left and our original to the right. http://cloud.righthere.com/image/1M3O382A1n2F

As you can see they are pretty much identical besides the small changes i mentioned.

The person is also an author here on Codecanyon and we have once again asked him to remove the file. The reason why our plugin is showing up with an update notification is because he uses the exact same folder name and our original plugin and as we use the WordPress API to provide updates WordPress goes to wordpress.org for the update.

We will release an update to our plugin making some changes to that this doesn’t happen. Meanwhile do NOT update the plugin as you will just get the plagiarized version.

Thanks for the update although unfortunate. Thought it was fishy. Great plugin btw.

We will release the update to Codecanyon soon and then every customer will be notified about the update from Envato/Codecanyon.

Did you update the plugin? I got an update notification in wp admin, and I updated it. It has a different author name. I hadn’t created a ticket yet but my copy had also stopped working, as the chosen menus weren’t displaying for the chosen user roles… so I hope this is a fix! :)

I’m very confused – I downloaded and reinstalled the file from CC, and once again, I’m getting this update notification: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0f22d90u28 . When I go to see the details of the update, it shows a plugin that is not yours: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0792d91078

Very strange do you mind submitting a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide wp-admin access. Then we will review this.

Will do.

seems like your plugin not working, i have tried logged in and roles. no luck

Thank you for buying the plugin. It works just perfect as you can see on the demo site. However you might have a conflict on your site. If you could please submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide wp-admin access.

You can also try and identify the problem yourself by deactivating all other plugins and see if it makes a difference.

If it does then start activating one plugin at a time until you see the problem happening again.

If it doesn’t make a difference deactivating all plugins then try and switch your theme to the default WordPress theme – just for testing so that we can rule this out.

This way we can easily identify what is causing the problem. However submit a ticket and please provide wp-admin access.

Can i show the different menu to logged in member?

Thank you for buying the plugin. Yes you can show a different menu based on the User Role of the visitor.

If you can’t you might have a problem with your theme. It might not follow the WordPress Codex when it comes to handling the WordPress menu.

Hello. Is it possible to hardcode this plugin into a theme? Since all my subsites use the same theme and I want to add/remove menu items as per the need.

Yes it could be done. It requires an Extended license if you want to integrate the plugin into a theme.

It doesn’t work when you have WPML installed and the support is – sorry to say – terrifying.

Thank you for buying the plugin. What seems to be the problem? Our plugin follows the WordPress Codex and doesn’t change any core features in WordPress. It is fully compatible with build in menu in WordPress and it is also prepared for translation according to the codex http://codex.wordpress.org/I18n_for_WordPress_Developers – please let us know what your issue is so we can help you fix it.

My greetings! Congratulations for your products.

I am planning to buy a WP plugin, possibly yours, if supports this function, to allow me putting for unregistered members or people that have not logged in a different landing theme, than my main one.

For example the site is “www.xxx.com”, and when an unregistered/non-logged in member types this or visits the page, to have a different to the main one theme as landing page, proovking him to register.

Is it possible with any of your themes? And will it hurt SEO?

Thanks!

Menu by User Role is for showing different menus based on the user role of the visitor. You can check out how it works here http://cloud.righthere.com/image/1t3I2S1O1o2X

It doesn’t allow you to use different themes. Using Menu by User Role will not hurt your SEO.

Hi,

I’m hosting with WPENGINE and the plugin does not work for me, maybe its because of caching.. Can you please help with this?

submitted.

This is sorted, there was an error with another plugin. Thank you very much for your help!

Excellent. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi, This plugin is just what I need. I just want to know before purchasing, does it work with WordPress 3.8 multisite enabled ?

Menu by User Role works perfect on WordPress 3.8, however I will need to check whether it works perfectly on WP MS. Are you going to use it on all sub-sites or just the main site. It works fine if you just activate it on the main site, but I need to look into network activation.

yes I want to use it on some of the sub-sites not all of them. I wont network activate, but I will activate it on some sub-sites.

You should be able to activate it on individual websites. Remember the Regular license is for one website according to Codecanyon license http://codecanyon.net/licenses. The extended license can be used throughout an entire Multisite.

Hi Richard, any news yet about the wpml/menu-by-user-role, look if its about money… i will be happy to pay a days worth of coding, jut let me know and dont leave me hanging..

We are leaving you hanging.. We are unfortunately very busy with deadlines here before Christmas. I will follow up on this.

Hi, does it work with custom roles?

yes it does…. you can check out the demo on http://plugins.righthere.com/menu-by-user-role/

Hi I have a chat function in my backend that I need to make available to a number of operators, but I don’t want them seeing anything except profile etc. Does any of your plugin stuff enable this, I’ve already got WLB. Many thanks Nick Garnett

That would be difficult to answer without knowing more about the plugin. However if the plugin support Custom Capabilities (http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities) then you should be able to provide other user roles with access to the plugin. With WLB you can hide plugins and make them available to other users than the Administrator if they have a set of Custom Capabilities.

Menu by User Role is a plugin for the frontend not the backend. WLB is for the backend (wp-admin).
