Hi – I purchased the plugin and am using Thesis 2.0. I installed it and get the messgage “Your theme supports 0 menus”
I do have multiple menus already, I just want to have separate ones for members & non-members. I have submitted a ticket but it would be useful for pre-sales to let people know here if it works with Thesis 2.0.
Thanks, Maria
Thank you for buying the plugin. Thesis is known for doing some stuff that doesn’t quite follow WordPress Codex. Either you love or hate it!
I don’t remember how Thesis handles menus, but we will have to look at your ticket. Don’t forget to provide wp-admin access.
Ok, thanks. Will respond on Ticket site with Admin info.
Hello guy can I have this work on the custom menu?
I’m not sure I understand what you mean. This plugin supports WordPress menu system, so if that is what you mean with “custom menu” the answer is yes.
Thank you for buying the plugin. Let me know if you have other questions.
Sorry did not explain… it’s the personal menu the you can create and use in a widget or shortcode. Not the menu for theme 1, 2 or if the theme has it.
Yes it is also possible to do the same with the menu widget: http://cloud.righthere.com/image/2c073w1O3X0S
Good day, guys! Is the a way to show username in menu when logged in? Like on this site (codecanyon) in top corner.
That is currently not a feature supported, but I guess it could be added. If you submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com I will direct it to the lead developer and we will review. I can’t promise you that we will add it right away, but I will see what I can do.
hi i am very interest with your product. but after buying your application can you help me if need any modification?
We do not do custom work on the plugins. However if you request something that can benefit a lot of other customers we might consider adding it in a future update.
is it possible every page on the site could have its own unique menu ítems? ... if no , plz let me knw if any plugin is avaiable for menu by pages feature instead of user role
No this is a plugin that allow you to create a menu based on the user role of the user. That means you can have a menu for people not logged in and people logged in and then for each of the different user roles you have in your site.
I just bought your plugin and have installed it and its not saving my settings. It seems to just refresh with none of the roles boxes being ticked. This is a fault?
Thank you for buying the plugin.
It sounds like there is a conflict with another plugin. Try and deactivate all other plugins and see if that removes the problem. If it does then try and activate one plugin at a time until you see the problem happening again. If it doesn’t help you deactivating all other plugins then try and switch your theme to the default WordPress theme (just for testing). We need to rule out that it is the theme (framework) or another plugin. In 9 out of 10 situations it is another plugin causing the conflict and we will need to fix this conflict.
I installed it on clean wordpress install with twenty twelve theme and it behaves the same way. Whats happening – is you can save changes in the MENU are only when your on the MANAGE LOCATIONS tabs.
When your on the EDIT MENUS tab it doesnt seem to save your settings. funny…
We use the plugin on Twenty Twelve theme on http://plugins.righthere.com/menu-by-user-role and it works perfect. http://cloud.righthere.com/image/171c0d0G1u1C
We will have to take a look at your site.
I just installed the plugin but I get this message “Your theme supports 0 menus. Select which menu appears in each location.” I’m using themes Builder theme.
thanks
Your theme has to support the WordPress menus. I don’t know the theme builders theme, but you might want to ask the theme developer if theme theme supports menu management.
This article explains this http://templatic.com/news/wordpress-3-0-menu-management/Yes it does use WordPress menus and in fact I already have two assigned but I still get the message “Your theme supports 0 menus….” in the Theme Locations
That sounds very strange. We are using WordPress 3.6 on our own site and it works. I will need to take a look at your site. It could be your theme framework that is not following the WordPress Codex. Submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide wp-admin access and we will look at it.
Does not seem to be working with Wordpress 3.6
Works perfectly with WordPress 3.6 we use it on http://plugins.righthere.com/menu-by-user-role – which runs on WordPress 3.6. Let me know what problems you are experiencing.
Hi, I really like the plugin – it’s straight-forward and works quite well. What I am missing is the ability to only display some user roles, as opposed to all (roles which are not displayed should inherit the “Logged In” setting). We are currently working on a site, which has a BBPress forum and some 4 custom user roles, and also features 3 Theme Locations for menus. This means that we have 42 Options in the “By User Role” tab, which is quite a lot. Since it is an “advanced” feature, you could implement it without a front-end. For example, we can set a setting in functions.php with slugs of roles to ignore on the “By User Role” tab.
Thank you for buying the plugin. I see what you mean. Would you please visit http://support.righthere.com and submit this sugggestion and then I can direct this to our lead developer. I can’t promise you anything now, but it is an improvement that user users could benefit from as well.
Does this plugin also work with the custom menu widget of wordpress?
Thank you very much!
There is no custom menu widget supporting Menu by User Role. It is only the main menu system in WordPress.
Hi, is this plugin compatible to membership plugins like S2Member or WLM? So will the additional membership levels added by these plugins be available for selection?
Menu by User Role is following the WordPress Codex 100%. Meaning it is compatible with the WordPress menu system. I don’t know these two other plugins, but if they change how the menus work and don’t follow the codex – you might right into problems. However I would not think that it would cause any problems. Normally if you run into issues we will be happy to assist you.
Can this plugin create menu by page? Meaning that every page on the site could have its own unique menu ítems?
It doesn’t create a menu by page – it it menu by user role. So that means you can make different menus for people that are logged in and for each user role on your website.
Hi,
are there any incompatibilities with ‘WP Super Cache’ possible?
Thanks!
I’m not sure.. I will have to do some testing. Did you experience any issues?
Yes, but still have to narrow down the problem & find the culprit.
I’m not sure what you are asking? Are you saying you are discovering problems with Menu by User Role when you are using “WP Super Cache” or are you asking if I know if there are problems? I’m sorry, but we do not test out plugins up against all other plugins. We follow the WordPress Codex when we develop plugins to minimize the chances of problems with themes and other plugins. That said I’ve seen caching problems cause problems for many plugins in general.
Both!
Thanks, for your tip. Will test it further & report back as soon as I can narrow down the problem.
Best regards,
keyhanjun
We will install the plugin on our developer and take a look
Let me know what you find.
Awesome, sure will do!
Hello, Is there any sort of filter in your plugin that could be used to have custom menus per user? All of my users are subscribers, but I now need to provide custom links on a per user basis within a menu. Was wondering if your plugin could do that. Thanks!
Hello jko5er
There is no obvious way to do this in WordPress. We use a hook to access the user roles. I will have to discuss this with our lead developer. In our White Label Branding for WordPress we can save layouts (wp-admin) per user. So maybe we can do the same on the menu.
Okay, alternatively, I suppose I could just create a group for each user using your white label plugin, then use those custom groups to create custom menus, right?
Yes you could do that – if you create a User Role for each group of User then you can easily create a menu for each of them.
Thank you! Purchasing now!
Hi it seems that my Menu stays the same no matter if i am logged in our out it is still the same Menu. i did assigns each menu.
Hello avanyc
Thank you for buying the plugin. That sounds strange.. submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide us with wp-admin access and we will have a look at it.
is it compatible with any other menu besides word press native menu ? i am pretty sure many people use some king of third party theme and not the native wordpress theme.
Hello avanyc
This is not replacing the actual menu you are using on your site, but it is targeting the User Roles. This should be pretty much standard for all themes. However we have had a few themes that needed a minor tweak for it to work. Let us know if you run into problems and we will be happy to help you.
Well i have been in contact with your help support, i was told that it does not work with my theme and to contact the theme maker…. While the theme maker said his theme does not support native Word Press navigation. So i am now stuck with 2 products that do not work with each other…
Basically it only works for the Public navigation selection, but when i do the logged in navigation, it does not change and remains the same as public.
Then there is a conflict… it is most likely pretty easy for our developers to fix. Please submit a ticket at http://support.righthere.com and provide wp-admin access. Include a short description of the problem.
I already did that and was replied to last time 2 days ago with telling me to contact the theme maker, since then i have not had a reply.
well i guess i will wait for your reply.
Still waiting for your reply guys it’s been over 2 days.
23 hours ago I asked you to submit a ticket at our helpdesk http://support.righthere.com if updating the theme didn’t help. Please notice that it is 9:25am in the morning here and we also do need to sleep!!
Please tell me your ticket no. and we will have a look.
i made a ticket 2 days ago now…. it was looked by someone and now it is just hanging there with me posting 3 updates. and no answer from you guys. Should i open another one with the same question again ?
You obviously didn’t read what I wrote to you. You might have posted two replies but you did that while we were sleeping!!!
No where does it say that you get your tickets answered within 24-48 hours. Some tickets are easy to fix and others require more debugging. In your case it is your theme causing the problem and you will have to wait until we get a developer to look at this. I’m sorry, but that is how it is.
Can you give me the ticket no. and I will see if I can get a developer to look at this now.

Thank you … I have the developer looking at it now. We will reply in the ticket.
thank you very much.
Hello avanyc,
This is really a shame that your theme developer has changed the way the WordPress menu system works so that it isn’t following the standard. This is what breaks the Menu by User Role. There is no easy fix for this we would have change several things in our plugin in order to support this theme. As your theme author said
Im afraid that is not possible because the theme menu is more complex than the native wordpress menu.
Nothing is impossible if you really want to do it. Honestly looking at your theme I don’t really understand why the author wouldn’t follow WordPress codex when it comes to the menu.
Completely changing out plugin just to support this theme is not a part of the normal support. And we can’t dedicate time at this point to finding a way to support this.
wow works awesome, helps me very out! top!
Hello krafti
Thank you for buying the plugin. Glad you like it
Plugin is great big thanks. I have a php link to user Buddypress profile page in functions.php. But after install plugin its not work now. Where can i add php function to see link to Buddypress profile page? Thanks again
Hello alexus13
Thank you for buying the plugin. We didn’t add any specific support for BuddyPress, but please visit our HelpDesk at http://support.righthere.com and submit a ticket. Provide a description of the problem and we can have the lead developer take a closer look.
Hello again. I submited a ticket. Tell me plz how much time usually takes to answer my ticket?
Please provide me with your ticket no.

I’ve asked for wp-admin access so our developers can take a look at it.
Hi there, is this plugin internationalized? or is it possible to translate?
There isn’t really much to translate here as we are just letting you assign the menus to user roles. If you have a way to translate your menus in WordPress it will work with Menu by User Role.
Hi RightHere,
any plans on releasing a similar plugin for Custom Menus on a Per Page Basis?
Thanks.
Hello keyhanjun
Thank you for buying the plugin. No we don’t have any plans on doing that as menu’s and access is normally tied to the user that login and not to the page you visit.
Can you please explain why you would like this feature?
Think of websites without login functionality. Here, it would be also nice to have the possibility to offer the visitors a different menu on different pages.
Also to put it one step further, think of another scenario where you even have a login system, e.g. BuddyPress & you want to show them a different menu only on all your BuddyPress pages (forums, groups, etc.) automatically regardless of their user role but you want to have always the same menu for all users (logged in or not) on your homepage.
Hope this makes more sense now.
I will talk to the lead developer and see if this can be achieved. I’m not promising anything….
Thanks, any feedback by now?
This will require some big changes in the core of the plugin and we are not going to do this at the moment. We simply don’t have the time.
Please notice that we did discover a conflict with WordPress 3.5, which we are working on fixing. A customer “dinohorn” actually reported this a few days ago. Sorry for the inconvenience – we will release the fix asap.
This has been fixed! If you are need urgent need for this update please visit our HelpDesk at http://support.righthere.com and submit a ticket and we will send you a download link.
It should be available on Codecanyon for download within the next 48 hours.
