So it’s finally working but i have to comment on it,
1. Why do i need to click on the number instead of clicking on the ‘comment icon’ for it to take me to the comments page? usually the number is un-clickable but the icon is.
2. One of the photos on my site, i tried clicking on it for 9 times during 9 days, every time, it takes the like and the number increases, i think that thing should be fixed? ‘cuz that will enable one person to like the photo every day and eventually we’ll have cheating in the most liked photos.
3. Would be much better to consider making the comments on the same page, just a thought.
1. I don’t take this as a rule, for me the numbers have links. The icon is just an icon.
2. I can add a feature with “Like” expiration, I’ll consider this for the next version.
3. Comments are on the individual page, just like regular WordPress posts.
Cheers!
I am so very disappointed with your support, this will be the 5th time i ask the same thing and you’re ignoring me, i wasn’t expecting that, i sent you on gmail several times, and you completely ignored me, you said that the comments system is fixed and it isn’t, and you didn’t even bother telling me that, i am so disappointed by your lousy support and will not give you 5 stars unless you complete what you said you will do.
Hi, I am sorry to hear that. Your comments were working after I opened them, they were globally off (Settings -> Discussion).
If you don’t have the comments open, either try this plugin – http://wordpress.org/plugins/one-click-close-comments/ – or recheck your Discussion settings.
Comments are already enabled in the discussion settings, the plugin didn’t work and i also tried another light box but neither has worked! suggestions please!
jQuery Colorbox is the best lightbox plugin, it’s free and it works 100% with ImagePress. There is something wring with your theme, probably, so you should use the default theme and test the lightbox.
Also, try using that plugin I indicated above, and try enabling comments for each image individually.
Hey I just wanted to say the configurator you added is an awesome addition! Just so you know though if you turn off the likes, comments, views, but leave the author, there is a bunch of space between the title and that. I had to go into the imagepress.php to fix it.
Can you fix the next page gallery issue. Where if you are on a page set for a specific gallery, and use the sort by category option and go to another category and then go to page 2. Page 2 will have photos of the set gallery for that page, not the pictures of the category you just switched too.
Thanks @sparkss, I’ll tackle the pagination issue next and the space issue. The configurator is at the first iteration, it will probably be refined with the next update.
New version coming tonight!
New in2.6
- FIX: Sorting and filtering
- FIX: Count parameter
- FEATURE: Added filtering by user ID
- FEATURE: Added Configurator (enable/disable any line inside the image box)
- FEATURE: Added CSS transitions instead of jQuery (isAnimated Masonry parameter)
- REMOVE: Removed “url” parameter (use Configurator)
- REMOVE: Removed PressTrends tracking (better plugin performance)
- REMOVE: Removed Modernizr (better plugin performance)
- UPDATE: General code cleanup
You need to add the code in the /documentation/ folder in order for the pageviews to work and the image to be displayed. This will fix 1 and 2.
Regarding 3, I’ll check.
Regarding 4, I’ll add an option.
Cheers!
Hello, thanks for the reply.
1. I put the code in and was able to get the photo to show, but the styling did not go with the rest of my website at all. And honestly I realized I don’t even want the comments. So I turned them off in the settings. However I still want the views to update and they only update if you clicked the comments button or if in the settings for Image behaviour you have open image page selected. If you have the other option selected, the images appear in the colorbox, but the views don’t update. Is there a way to have the views still update with no comments and the image behavior set at open media image?
2. Were you able to check on the mobile yet / add the option in the new update (2.6) that you are going to release?
3. When you have multiple pages of images, you can click any of the numbers to go to the next page, but if you click the double arrows button it goes to a page that does not exist. For example, if you have three pages of images and you click the next arrows it takes you to page 4 which has no images and thus says, No images available.
Also, one more thing. I have five different pages for five different gallery categories of images. So depending on what page you go to you see a different gallery. No matter what page page you are on though, you can press sort by category and select any of the categories and they will appear on that page. All that is perfect. The issue I’m running into though is if you are one page and press the sort by category option and go to a different gallery, which then appears, and then you press page 2. If you press a different page it goes to the 2nd page of the default gallery for that page, not the one that you switched to. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!!
Version 2.6 is out so you can check it too, when it’s live. I will check the pagination issues and apply any fixes and release a 2.6.1 version.
There is no way to increase pageviews when opening the image in a lightbox, as it’s supposed to work only for single/individual image pages.
It works perfectly on mobiles, on responsive themes. I tested it with a local Twenty Fourteen (WordPress 3.8-beta-1) theme.
Hi I purschased your pluging, and now i’m playing with it. Searched for this, but could’nt find an answer.. Is there a way, when users upload a picture. (i know its a featured image) it also goes automatically in the post (editor) right now, i have to put them in by hand.. And next question, i’m using it with buddypress, and i want to show members own gallery at there memberpage? Hope you get my question.. and you can help me with this!
Juliette
The ImagePress is a featured image, so there no way it appears in the post, as it would show as duplicate on the individual image page.
Regarding the members galleries, you could use the author filter shortcode.
to make what i want right?
The members gallery, i will try it…
You did not add the code from the /documentation/ folder. Read that and you’ll have the image in your post automatically.
ahh.. i thought it was a sample.php thing.. but thats working now.. Thanks alot!
The member gallery, do you know where i can put the author filter?
Version 2.6 is coming tonight and will have a new parameter for the shortcode.
Hello again, the like and commenting functions are not working on my site, is it a glitch or does that require a specific plugin for it to work?
Customer service is bad! this is my third post here and i have not received any response or solution for my problem, how do you want people to rate 5 stars if you give a plugin with no after sales service!?
Customer service is not bad. I’ve had some busy days.
You need to add the code in the /documentation/ folder in order for the pageviews to work and the image to be displayed. Contact me via email and I’ll help you set it up.
Cheers!
Hello, thank you for your response, i have sent you an Email about 10 days ago or so, with the password and username of my admin panel, is it okay to help me with it? thanks. my site is called rumming
Your website – http://rumming.com/ – looks empty.
No it’s there, www.rumming.com
This is what I see: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0491z8m0d2
Oh, your browser is redirecting you to the old server, please flush your chache or change your DNS settings to be able to view the site
It’s done, I’m in. I need writing access in order to modify your single.php file.
Can you change the permissions of it? or can i if you tell me where it is?
I can’t. You need to set the permissions of /wp-content/ folder to 777. You can do it via FTP. Or contact me via email and send me the FTP details.
I just sent you the FTP details once again, check Email please.
Did you use this one? getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com
Yes, isn’t this Ciprian Popescu?
Yes, it is, but got no mail so far.
Just sent it again, in spam possibly?
What code would I have to add to the single.php file for the like button to appear?
Thank you in advance.
The “like” icon only appears in the general view, the “wall bricks” view.
I know, I was hoping there was a way I could add a like button to the single view page. Thank you for the reply.
I am interested in buying this plugin, but before I buy need to know if it has some kind of Captcha or anti spam?
So you reply to someone else but ignore my comment?
Can you please answer as I would really like to use your plugin, but need to know this before I can proceed.
It doesn’t have any CAPTCHA, but it has mandatory fields. I had zero problems with it for the last 2 years.
Thank you for letting me know.
Ok so now i have another question please, I’d like to enable user comments, likes and unlikes, how can i do it for my website images just like the images on the example in “ImagePress in the wild”?
Also, i’d like to drag your attention to something that might be a bug, for each uploaded image, the name of author is there, but when you click on it, it doesn’t take you anywhere, it just refreshes the page that you’re on, it like that even on the examples in ‘ImagePress in the wild’, if there is a way to fix it, please let me know thanks.
Hi Jordany007, the user comments, likes and unlikes should already be active. Did you create a special page or copied the code inside the /documentation/ folder? Also, did you resaved your Permalinks?
Regarding the “bug”, it’s not just refreshing the page, it’s filtering the images. After you click on the author name, you only see images from that author only.
Thank you for your prompt response. The commenting is still not working for me, i re-saved and changed the permalinks more than once, played with the settings of lightbox a little, but still haven’t got anything. Do you happen to have a solution? or is it okay if i gave you the login info to apply a fix for me please?
Yes, it is OK, just send it to my email – getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com
I just sent you an Email, many thanks.
Hi, i have a problem with the image viewing. When it click on the uploaded image to maximize it, it takes me to another page with a 404 error, and when i change the option in the settings and try to click on any image again, it takes me to the original link of the image as if i’ve clicked ‘right click’ and view image! please help me find a solution for that, i want the nice box like the one you have in your demo, Thanks!
Ok so yeah, i got it, jQuery Colorbox plugin
Thanks
Yeah, the jQuery Colorbox should do the job. You should also resave the Permalinks (just click on the “Save” button).
Hey!
I am really impressed with your plugin, however I have a client that would like a registered user to be able to upload their own gallery in their profile on the site.
Do you think that this can be done using this plugin?
Thanks!
Hi. The gallery is public, but if you use the author filters, you may be able to set it up the way you want.
I find that [imagepress-show type=”random”] doesn’t work for me on pages. It just displays every image uploaded. Using v2.5.2. Am I doing something wrong?
You should combine the random image with a count parameter, like this: [imagepress-show type=”random” count=”1”] – it is built to show one random image, or 2 or 3. Not more than that.
Hi, I tried this but it still doesn’t work. I still get output of all pictures uploaded (exactly in the same format as the masonry view but in one column).
An update is coming, making this easier, hopefully tomorrow.
Hi, when do you think this update will be available?
Version 2.6 is coming tonight, sorry for the delay @TeeDev.
Hi, how I can add a custom field on upload image form ? Example: Name, Surname, Short Bio, ecc.. and store them ?
Thanks.
No, you can’t. Unless you know PHP.
Yes, I know PHP! Can you specify the files to be integrated and the tables involved?
Thanks.
There are no tables, just play with imagepress.php, everything’s in there.
I just installed your plugin and cannot get it to work…
1)I created a category called characters 2)I tried adding both a gallery and a single image using the Add New Image link. 3) I published the page 4) I crated a page and added the short code [imagepress-show]
When I preview that page all I see is a gray box with Characters at the top Gunfighter|October 31,2013 and some simbles with numbers next to it and a link to the user…
Why don’t I see a picture?
I’ve gone back and added more pictures and changed it to a gallery and then back, but I don’t see any picures. What can I be doing wrong?
Did you add an image using the front-end form? Using the [imagepress-add] shortcode? If not, try to add it.
No I added an image using the admin tools. Shouldn’t that work too?
It should work. I need a link to your site so I can see myself.
Ah, I see what I’m doing wrong now! There can only be one picture per page and it has to go in the feature image section.
So I can’t use the add media button and add a gallery then? It has to be one picture per page and added into the Set featured image section?
Yes, the images are featured images, not inserted images or galleries. The gallery is created from all your featured images, so there’s no need to add a WordPress gallery.
Oh, boy…lol… I was hoping to be able to do them in groups.. ok… thanks
People usually use this plugin to allow users to post images.
You’re welcome. Let me know how it works.
Also, don’t forget to rate!
Just installed the plugin. My images are opening in a new window, rather than in a fancy box or light box window as in demo. I have open image selected in settings.
Did you read the comments? You need jQuery Colorbox plugin (free, version 4.6).
Hey,
the plugin looks great! Is it possible to paste a shortcode into a widget to show one random image at a time? I think this would be the perfect addition to the gallery and it would be visible on the whole blog (because it’s a widget
)
It is an interesting addition. I’ll think about that as it is defintely possible.
OK, there is a way to add shortcodeinside widgets, someone here did it. There is a free plugin which allows pasting shortcodes in any widget. It’s that easy.
This is similar to what I was asking for a few days ago. Descriptions below the images in the masonry view or on the light box card in the light box view. It would be a very useful feature. He said it’s do-able I think he’s working on it.
Your plugin and your support for it is brilliant, I’m really happy that I bought it.
I just have one more request. How can I modify the information displayed below images in the masonry grid layout?
For instance, I don’t need the post date and the author name to show but I would like to show the information used in the Imagepress uploads fields e.g. Name, Description… and maybe a custom field or two.
For example a URL field so that the image can represent an advert and allow the visitor to click through to the advertisers website. And possibly the option to create other custom fields for the uploads dialogue and choose whether or not these are displayed in the masonry view or just the single image template.
I think these additions would make your plugin even more attractive to buyers. What do you think?
Hi there. Hoping you can answer the question above:
I just have one more request. How can I modify the information displayed below images in the masonry grid layout? ... I would like to show the information used in the Imagepress uploads fields e.g. Name, Description…
Thanks
Hi, I seem to be left out in your responses. Still no answer to this… Seems a couple of others have asked and received a response… Please let me know. Thanks
You’re not left out, sorry for this, still sorting out some bugs.
I have implemented the Configurator, which solves all your problems.
Cheers!
changelog ?
There’s a readme.txt file included in the plugin.
Thanks !
