Hi guys, Just bought e-cards and look forward to using it, thus the question. First, I’m sorry for the question. Here it is. I’m soooo green at this it’s embarrassing. Ok, I bought it and downloaded it to my hard drive. Now, how do I load it to my WP site from here. Sorry again. I thought that if I can get it there I can then go through some screen captures to get it set up.? Thank you in advance.
Not a problem. Go to “Plugins” section, “Add New”, “Upload”, select your downloaded archive and click “OK”.

A few questions.
1. What is the recommended size for the pictures? 2. In order to get a list of pictures for the ecard you downloaded jQuery Colorbox? How do you get the list to show up on the designated page?

1. There is no recommended size, but you should probably use 900×600, for example.
2. Nope. jQuery Colorbox is only for the lightbox popup. The list of pictures appears automatically from the uploaded images.

Don’t mean to bother you again but we have been trying to get this to work for a few hours with no avail. 1. We added the code on the page. We see this perfectly when we view it. 2. We add a few pictures and they show up but without the option to choose any of them. We tried it two ways. By posting them directly into the page or by just attaching them and it does not give the option to choose any.
What are we doing wrong?
You only need to attach them, and they will show up. May I see your site? Also, may I have access to your WordPress backend?

Hi there! I’ve looked through all of the questions and I have a few of the same issues as others that I can’t seem to get to work no matter what theme that I use. Would I be able to get some help with them? 1. All of my photos are not opening in a lightbox – they’re opening onto a separate page 2. I can’t get the images to appear on pages – only in posts

1. You need to install a lightbox plugin. I’m using jQuery Colorbox (free). 2. It might be the theme, I need to see either the page or the theme backend.
That worked great! Thank you – last question – the 150px X 150px thumbnails are cutting off my card images…is there a way I can change that size? I need a taller height….Thanks!
The thumbnail size is set up via Settings -> Media, in your WordPress admin. You are welcome!

OK, the change you made requires all thumbnails to be regenerated (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/). This applies to all thumbnails on your entire site.

The plugin has PayPal as a payment gateway. It uses a double shortcode syntax paypal amount=”16”[/paypal] where 16 is the cost.

I used to be able to bulk upload a post via csv with <!-more->image[ecard]image… The ecard grabbed the image and all was good. Is the current version capable of csv bulk upload (csv importer) whereby I upload hundreds of posts, each having multiple ecards, and the user picks which one and sends? (It appears the 20 have to be placed via the media tool one-by-one.) Please advise. Example, I upload a 100 row csv and each post/row has 15 ecards, or 1,500 ecards to 100 posts via bulk upload.

You need to attach the images to each post. If your CSV importer can do it, then it should work.
I see there is mention of Paypal integration to allow for paid ecard. what about Stripe payment gateway? Can that be integrated with this ecard plugin as well?
I have never heard of Stripe, but PayPal is used as a redirection, so, if Stripe uses the same concept, it could be added. I’ll look into it, but I cannot promise anything.

I use the [ecard] shortcode in my posts. And i have more then one image in a post. The plugin generated for each image on the page a thumbnail. Now the user can select one of this images (thumbnails) to send as an ecard. OK, fine.
But i want pre-select only ONE of this pictures in a post. So the user cant select self one of all pictures (thumbnails) in this post.
Is this posible? Can I declare images in a post that the user can not select for the eCard (therefore appears not as a thumbnail) and should not be sent?
Hello. I have implemented this change. You should add “noselect” as ALT text to all images you don’t want to appear as selectable.

2. I want to place the echo “eCard sent successfully” in a different place. e.g. below the Button “eCard versenden!” How can i style the .ecard-confirmation class and where can i find it? Can you give me a little quick tip?
Hello. Thanks for the translation, I’ll update it today. Regarding the confirmation placement, you’ll need to edit ecards.php and move the echo line lower. The .ecard-confirmation class can be styled in your theme’s style.css.

I really want to show about 9 card thumbs on each page with the radio button and form but not just a big picture with no radio button or big pictures with the thumbnail and so forth.

Okay I am lost. I can’t get it to send the email. I’m on dreamhost but all other emails from my site get sent. I tested this sending to gmail and yahoo email addresses. I also don’t see where I can Customizable image sizes – fits all themes and much else.
Also when I try to make a page with cards I just get this with no thumb or radio button: http://www.lamecards.com/?page_id=127Before that I was getting the big images with the thumbs and radio buttons then it just stopped working.
Then I just added the short code to a page and nothing else and I got every thumb on the page with button even though I didn’t select media: http://www.lamecards.com/?page_id=8I ran this site with a script before that became obsolete but it emailed fine from it.
I like the idea of this plugin but so far I can’t do anything with it so far because it won’t email or make a decent looking page with proper display.
Please help because I migrated the site from a non-wordpress CMS to Wordpress just so I could use this plugin.

No, it doesn’t, because the Mailchimp would require a separate form submit action, which is not possible.

Okay I got it. How do I change the sender name to come up as the individual sending the ecard?
Secondly my photos arent showing in the email.
The name should appear automatically if you leave the MAIL:FROM fields blank, inside the admin.
Secondly, some email clients have a link with “Display images”. It happens the same for all emails containing images.
The other issue I have is… How do I show a gallery? I already have images loaded in my library, but for some reason they dont appear when I add them in a gallery.
Is there a “manual” somewhere for troubleshooting?
There is no manual, but what kind of gallery are you talking about? The eCards? They automatically show if they are attached to the page (not to the global gallery).

No, just read the instructions. You need to create a post or a page and attach the images to that page. Do not insert them from the Media Library, just upload or drag them inside the upload window.
I have the images in my library.. I’ve added the images into a gallery and not all the images i add are displayed.
If I have files already in my library how do I add them to the page, w/o uploading them again?
You can’t. The plugin only detects your attached images. But let me check something tomorrow and I’ll get back to you.
Hi: I can’t seem to figure out how to use this plugin. 1) I typed [ecard] in a page. 2) I want to add the image to go with the eCard. How, exactly, do I do that? When I go to Add Media, I select the photo. The directions state NOT to “insert” the image and to attach it, instead, but “insert” is the only option I see. When I try sending, it says “missing attachment.” What am I doing wrong here when it comes to adding an image to the page with the eCard form? Thank you.
After adding the images to the post (uploading them), do not click on “Insert”. Just close the media popup. your images will be attached to your post.

No suggestions, Diana. This is not up to the plugin. Try not using links inside the eCard, and try to mark it as “Not Spam” from your email client.
I took it, and have tried it now. At the same time I tried to set in a youtube video ‘embedded Iframe” into the text editor. It works in the editor (visible video), however, test mails says only “missing file”.
- Ordinary html codes, will not be accepted. I tried simple linebrake. all text just goes in one line.
- How do I translate the part of “your name, Your email address” and change the text for the message box.. etc. into my own language?
- Mails jump right into the spam folder, nomatter who I send to.
- The text “Wordpress” in the sendermail.. how do I change this into something else?
- And.. the media upload, in the editor.. as shown on the scr dumps.. where are that button? :s
I have fixed the “one-line” text. Regarding the translation, please contact me via email and send me your translated texts (and your language), I will add them. Or you can do it yourself by using POEdit. The SPAM issue is a known issue, it is not up to the plugin. Try the “Mail From II” plugin, it’s free, and you’ll be able to modify the “WordPress” sender name.
Also, the Media Upload button is in the Edit Post screen. Contact me via email so we can chat in more detail and fix all your issues.
Youtube video doesn’t work as it’s a mail client restriction. You can’t do it neither in Gmail nor in Yahoo.

Overall great plugin. Finally figured most of it out. 2 issues remain.
When clicking on thumbnail of ecard displayed on a page, it opens to an enlargement (jpg link) and forces user to use back button on browser to return to page. All my other images open in new window/lightbox on a given page. Not sure if this is a issue with theme? Rockwell from CodeCanyon.
Also, currently using captcha because if I use Recaptcha get Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _recaptcha_qsencode() (previously declared in /home/mm2dance/public_html/wp-content/themes/rockwell_v1.7.1/recaptcha/recaptchalib.php:47) in /home/mm2dance/public_html/wp-content/plugins/codecanyon-1051966-wordpress-ecards/recaptchalib.php on line 55 – and yes it is being used elsewhere – so seems to be a conflict here.
Images should open in a lightbox if you have an available plugin. They work for me on several sites with no changes.
Also, regarding the reCaptcha error, I guess I cannot change the function names, as it’s a public library, but I could check for a previous inclusion. Let me see.
