Subscription is no picking up all finished PayPal payments. Parent order is paid with PayPal, yet subscription is in ‘pending’ status and there’s no way to link subscription to successful PayPal payment for the subscription product.

Hi,

Possible Causes:

PayPal IPN/Webhook communication failure

The payment was completed in PayPal, but WooCommerce/SUMO Subscriptions may not have received the payment confirmation notification (IPN or Webhook).

Please cross check if IPN is working properly on your site and if you are still facing the issue, please contact our support at http://fantasticplugins.com/support by opening a ticket with more details so that our support team can check and let you know.

Thanks.

Hi, sorry if this is written somewhere I could not find it. I am interested in buying this plugin, I sell skincare and have some products which are Simple products, and others that have a choice of size or skin type choice as Variable products.

First question – will i be able to add subscriptions to both of these existing products types, or do you have to create new products?

Second question, i’d like the subscription to save them say 15% so it is an incentive to do, is this possible if so how do we do it? For example, they could buy a moisturiser at £20 one-off, or setup a subscription where they automatically buy it every 3 months at 15% off. If that is possible, would they be able to get the first one at the discounted price then cancel before the next product was dispatched?

Thanks, i’ve had SUMO reward points for many years and works well for me so would be happy to have another SUMO product on my site.

Hi,

1. Yes, you can enable SUMO Subscription for existing products on the site.

2. By creating a variable product with multiple variations, it can be possible. i.e. one variation for one time purchase, another variation for 3 month subscription with discounted price. It is also possible to not allow customer to cancel for specific number of days.

Thanks.

That’s great thank you.

Hello,

We are considering purchasing SUMO Subscriptions for WooCommerce.

Before purchase, could you please confirm:

1. Does SUMO create real WooCommerce renewal orders for each automatic monthly Stripe payment? 2. Are these renewal orders standard WooCommerce orders that can be detected by third-party plugins? 3. Do you know if renewal orders can be used by affiliate plugins to generate commissions?

Thank you.

Hi,

1. Yes, new order will be created for each renewal.

2. Yes, renewal orders will be standard WooCommerce orders.

3. We have given compatibility with our SUMO Affiliates Pro plugin and it will be used to generate commissions.

Thanks.

I am trying your demo and I am a little confused about the synchronizing feature. I want to make subscriptions for a club, they need to renew on the same day of the year regardless of when they sign up. So if they signup April 6th 2026, the next renewal would be May 15th 2027. When I tried setting that up in the demo it made the renewal on the 15th of the month the subscription was started. So April 15th 2027. Not sure if its the demo not actually affecting the front end of the demo or if I am misunderstanding the option.

Hi,

Go to “SUMO Subscriptions > Settings > Synchronization” and set the “Synchronization Behavior” option to “Exact Date/Day” and check.

Thanks.

Hi Team, I recently purchased this plugin and testing its compatibility with my webapp. I can see subscription under Account tab but pause/cancel button is disabled. Can you please help in resolving it?

Just purchased and downloaded. Where/which file is the documentation?

Actually, I don’t think I need it. I see the “Sumo Subscriptions” drop-down in the variations within a product. How do I change subscription price? Meaning, there should be a standard price for each variation and a slightly discounted price for the subscription.

Hi,

For variable products, you can enable “SUMO Subscriptions” option under each variation. You can set the discounted price for the variation enabled with “SUMO Subscriptions”.

Is it possible to create such a site with your theme?

Hi,

If your requirement is to give One-time purchase and subscription option to the customers, then by creating a variable product with multiple variations, it can be possible. i.e. one variation for one time purchase, another variation for monthly subscription, another variation for 2 month subscription and so on.

Thanks.

Would you be able to show me a demo of this process? It could be an image or a short video.

I used SUMO Subscriptions for WooCommerce in a production environment for my business, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely negative.

This plugin is responsible for handling recurring payments, so reliability is critical. However, I experienced multiple serious issues that directly impacted my business operations and revenue.

One of the main problems is poor compatibility management. Whenever the official PayPal plugin receives updates, SUMO Subscriptions often becomes incompatible and stops functioning correctly. It can take a very long time for the developers to release fixes, leaving the system in a broken state. During these periods, customers cannot complete payments properly.

More critically, I discovered that automatic recurring payments were not being processed for an extended period of time. Orders were created, but customers were never charged. This resulted in financial loss and required manual investigation and correction.

Another serious issue was subscription cancellation handling. When customers cancelled their subscriptions, they were not properly terminated at the correct time and remained stuck in an incorrect state.

Support was also disappointing. Instead of providing effective troubleshooting steps, they requested full administrative access to my website. Due to customer data protection and privacy obligations, this was not acceptable for a production system.

Overall, this plugin proved unreliable for real business use. Subscription systems must be stable and predictable, and unfortunately, this plugin did not meet those requirements. I cannot recommend it for anyone running a serious subscription-based business. I have refunded,

Hi

I am interested in using the SUMO Payment Plans plugin for a specific project, but I need to confirm if it can handle a manual approval workflow with a specific installment structure.

We have a specific set of products that require the following:

1. Custom Installment Structure:

Deposit: 25% at checkout.

2nd Payment: 25% (exactly 1 month later or on a specific date).

Final Payment: 50% (exactly 2 months later or on a specific date).

2. “Hold & Approve” Workflow: We do not want the initial payment processed immediately. Instead:

The Hold: Can the plugin place an authorization hold on the customer’s card at checkout while the booking is “Pending Review”?

Admin Approval: We need the ability for an Admin to review the application and then manually “Approve” or “Reject” the booking from the backend.

Auto-Capture: Upon Admin approval, can the plugin automatically trigger the first 25% payment and schedule the remaining installments without the customer having to return to the site to re-authorize?

3. Automation:

Once approved, will the email flow (confirmation, invoices for future installments) trigger automatically based on the approval status?

Does the current version of SUMO Payment Plans support this “Authorize-now, Capture-on-Approval” logic, or would this require an additional plugin

Hi,

Thanks for opening a support ticket. Our support team has replied to your ticket. Please check it and follow up there.

I have a major issue with this plugin. Example: I’m logged in as a customer, I can then purchase a subscription – works as should. However, I then go and place a new order (for anything i.e. product or subscription) and it then says “no delivery options were found” (using the same address – if I log out and checkout with another account or as guest with the same address then I can checkout) and therefore impossible for me to buy anything after a subscription exists on my account.

Anybody???

I have paid for this plugin and support so I would have expected a quick reply to this IMPORTANT issue. Can you get back to me ASAP!!!

Stripe subscriptions failing all of a sudden after the latest WooCommerce Stripe plugin update to 10.4.0 on a clients website. “Call to a member function prepare_order_source() on null” Stripe 10.4.0 moved all logic from WC_Gateway_Stripe to WC_Stripe_UPE_Payment_Gateway and deprecated the old class. SUMO 17.3.0 is still referencing the old class, which now returns null. Rolling back to Stripe 10.3.x fixed it immediately. Does SUMO 17.4.0 address this? Your changelog doesn’t mention Stripe compatibility but the release timing (Feb 10, one day after Stripe’s update) suggests it might. Need confirmation before updating on production.

Hi,

We have already fixed the compatibility issue with latest version of WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin. The fix will be available in the next plugin update 17.5.0 which will be available for download in one or two days.

If you need the development version which has the fix, then please contact our support at http://fantasticplugins.com/support by opening a ticket so that our support team can share you the development version.

Thanks.

Pre sale question, would your plugin by any chance work with Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce https://wordpress.org/plugins/woo-stripe-payment/ Thanks

Hi,

No, it doesn’t work with the payment gateway you mentioned.

I’ve just purchased this plugin and am already running into issues.

One, you state you need to have the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin for easy (more feature-rich) automatic billing for my subscriptions, which is what I need. Your product features fail to mention that THAT plugin cannot be installed for recurring transactions without the required WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin (which makes Sumo Subscriptions redundant).

Second, I’m making this a comment as the link to your actual item support takes me to a “Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.” page error.

How can I integrate this into my SaaS infrastructure? After each new subscription or renewal, my app needs to be informed, so that service can be provisioned to the user. Similarly, after cancellation of a subscription, my app also need to be informed so that service can be suspended. How does your plugin inform my app about these changes? Via API or webhook? I think in this case webhook is essential. Does your plugin has webhooks for these type of events?

Hi,

Only Rest API is supported. You can find the Rest API documentation here: https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/12768155/TVRd9Wak

Apart from this, we haven’t supported any webhooks.

Thanks.

Hello, good morning. When I click on the Support area, it doesn’t work to submit a support ticket. I also need the documentation that explains, step by step, how to create a Subscription.

Hello,

I’m using SUMO Subscriptions (latest version) with WooCommerce and WoodMart theme.

The plugin is active and the menu “Subscriptions” appears in the admin. However, when editing a WooCommerce product, the SUMO Subscriptions product settings (meta box to enable/disable subscriptions for a product) are NOT visible.

What I have already verified: - Plugin is activated and licensed - WooCommerce is active and updated - Product is a Simple Product - Screen Options does NOT show any SUMO Subscriptions meta box - I can see SUMO Memberships Product Settings, but not SUMO Subscriptions

My questions: 1) Which meta box or product setting should appear to enable subscriptions on a product? 2) Is there a known conflict with WoodMart theme that hides the SUMO Subscriptions meta box? 3) Does SUMO Subscriptions require a specific product type or option to be enabled to show the subscription settings? 4) Is there a hook or filter that could be removing the meta box from the product edit screen?

Please confirm the exact steps to create a subscription product using SUMO Subscriptions.

Thank you.

Questions before buying: I have an online course built on WordPress, an LMS, and WooCommerce, and I want to set up automatic recurring payments: monthly, quarterly, and annually. 1. Does this plugin work with WooCommerce and variable product listings?

2. Can I use this plugin to set up automatic recurring payments until the customer pauses or cancels their subscription?

FPAddons

FPAddons Author Team

Hi,

1. Variable product type is supported, but we haven’t given any specific support for any LMS or course-related plugins.

2. Automatic recurring is supported with the following plugins,

I) Stripe – Credit Card payment method(using WooCommerce Stripe plugin)

ii) WooCommere Paypal Payments plugin

Hello SUMO Subscriptions Support Team,

We are encountering a critical issue after upgrading SUMO Subscriptions to the latest versions (v17.2.0 and v17.3.0). This issue does not occur in the older version v15.4.0 and appears to be a regression introduced in the newer releases.

The issue is being observed on our DEV environment. When using SUMO Subscriptions versions 17.2.0 or 17.3.0, the following behavior occurs consistently during checkout and payment retries. On the first failed payment attempt, the order is created, and the subscription is also created as expected. However, when the second payment succeeds, the order remains and is marked as paid, but the existing subscription is deleted, and no new subscription is created. This results in a paid order without an active subscription, which breaks the subscription lifecycle entirely.

The expected behavior after a successful payment is that the existing subscription should either continue or renew correctly, or a new subscription should be created, depending on the configuration. In no scenario should a subscription be deleted without being replaced or renewed after a successful payment.

We have tested the checkout flow multiple times on the DEV site and confirmed that this issue consistently occurs in versions 17.2.0 and 17.3.0. We then rolled back the plugin to version 15.4.0 and verified that the same issue does not occur there. This clearly indicates that the problem is a regression introduced after version 15.4.0.

For reference, the issue occurring in the newer versions (17.x) can be seen in this video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=13wI1xJo8cYbLcMyfdecu_M08H820eQTu

The correct and expected behavior in version 15.4.0 can be seen in this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PQvoQvlJdFtCJWSzOH7uaDvR3ZfU4Xea/view

We are reaching out using the licensed client account to ensure proper investigation. Based on our testing, the issue appears to be related to payment retry or renewal handling logic introduced in the newer versions of the plugin.

Could you please confirm whether this is a known issue in versions 17.2.0 or 17.3.0, advise if a fix or patch is available, and let us know if any logs or additional debugging information are required from our side? This issue directly impacts live subscription billing and requires urgent attention.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to your guidance on resolving this regression.

Hi, 1) if I’m using Stripe Woo Gateway, if a subscription payment fails, will the plugin automatically retry until the payement is successful or only emails are sent to the customer? 2) I’m already using a plugin to manage my subscriptions and connected with Stripe is there a possibility to transfer all these to your plugin once it’s installed?

FPAddons

FPAddons Author Team

Hi,

After the payment fails initially, subscription will move to Overdue and Suspend status. Automatic payment retry will happen from the default card which the customer has seleted in their account until the subscription is in Overdue and Suspend status.

FYI, we haven’t supported Stripe Subscriptions(i.e. subscriptions managed in Stripe server). Subscriptions will be managed completely on WooCommerce Store, only the automatic charging will be triggered using Stripe – Credit Card payment method at the time of renewals.

It is not possible to transfer existing subscriptions. If needed, you may have to manually create subscription orders and assign it to the customers.

Thanks.
