The notation on the item details page for this terminal state that the last update was November of 2023 – a bit over 2 years ago as of right now. Is there a more recent version available after purchasing? Is this script still in active development? I don’t want to purchase an abandoned product, but having a Stripe Terminal interface that I can host on my own website for my employees is very appealing, so I’m hoping this option is still available. Thanks so much, in advance!

Hi gsfriend,

The version available on the CodeCanyon is the latest that is available for Envato customers. The product is not abandoned, it is fully supported in case of any questions – through our support ticketing system on our site.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

5 days now…

Hi Skooz,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The ticket was updated – please review.

Is it normal that the webhook URL has a 404 error? Also, is there any documentation about what Stripe events I need to add?

No, it should not return 404 “not found” error. The only documentation that we have is currently located on our criticalgears.io website.

Well, your demo also returns a 404 error for the webhook URL. So, please check and provide an update. Also, what is the direct link to the documentation? Thanks

There is bug in the system. I have open a ticket #28803 from their portal https://www.criticalgears.io/ticket/ but i have not received any support response.. very poor support service…...

anyone there?????? on support???

Hi Apologies for the delay. We replied to your support inquiry – please review.

How come Google Pay is shown in the demo but not my version?

Depends on when you’ve downloaded the system. Whether it was before last update or after.

This software works great for us. However we have had problems with “commas” We found out after grueling experiences with customers that if the customer puts in a comma for example $1,000.00 The system only charges $1 This should be fixed but my support ended so I just decided to comment to let people know.

Hey aboraihana,

Thanks for your comment.

This issue was present long time ago. Perhaps you are not using the latest version? When did you download the files from CodeCanyon?

Hi! 10/31/24 was the purchase date. is there a way I can download the new one?

Hi,

Yes, you can download it through your profile – Downloads section.

C’mon guys.. support is not good for this item. Instructions are way too basic. Can you contact me please?

Hey skooz,

Thank you for purchasing our product! Please open support ticket at https://criticalgears.io/support-tickets and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Hello! When will a new version be released and will it be multilingual?

Hi CNMedia, We have just finished the multilingual functionality in the app. It will be released in next version. As to when – there are still a few items on our list for next update. We anticipate next release in first half of March.

Greetings CG, I am trying to access your support center to ask some questions and decide if we acquire more licenses for this script but it seems to have been down for a few days (for information).

Thank you so much

Great, that’s great news!! Customers can see that in the Stripe dashboard they can activate many more payment methods (SEPA / Revolut / Crypto / etc…) and if you update the processing layer to the new “Express Checkout” you can have all those methods already integrated into the process.

We really like the application and we plan to acquire more licenses as soon as they release the update.

If you accept another suggestion that my clients also miss (it may not cost much to implement), it would be to include a control of units in the purchase panel when a link of an item is sent to the user who is going to make the payment, example case:

I create an item in the application called “Tickets to access the exhibition” for $100, I send the payment link to the client who wants to come to my event, but wants to buy 4 units of the same item in a single purchase process because he is coming with his wife and children, the client increases the selector to “4 Units” and would make a single payment of $400, this would be fantastic! Because currently the client has to complete four purchase processes with four payment links, with the inconvenience of time and four bank APP confirmations for him and then the increase in registered operations to control by the billing staff of the business that organizes the event.

And if they want to improve it completely, if they implement a % discount system based on the number of units of an item purchased in a single purchase process, it would be “pro level” hahaha.

In any case, we would like to thank them for improving the application and the suggestions that we, the buyers, give them so that we can continue offering updated quality products as a Digital Agency.

We are eager and waiting for the new updated version to come out. Thank you for the work and time dedicated.

Thanks Wotrix, Implementation of quantity option for link-based payments should not be hard to implement. I’ll send your suggestion to the team to look at.

Very Thx CG!!

Hello good,

I am a buyer of this script, I wanted to confirm some doubts with you.

STRIPE PAYMENT METHODS

Is it possible to activate additional payment methods included in stripe, such as “Direct SEPA” or “Bank Transfer”? We have activated these payment methods in the stripe platform dashboard but it does not show them later in the payment terminal.

Subscriptions

Why is the option to pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Microsoft not shown when the item is a subscription? Is it only compatible with one-time payments? Is there a way to activate Apple, Google, Microsoft or other stripe payments for subscriptions?

TAXES BUG?

I don’t know if they are aware of it, but when “Tax Exemption” is activated in an item having it set to “Taxes Activated” globally in the terminal, it continues to show and calculate the tax in the payment form and in the SQL database It does not update the parameter, it continues marking “taxExempt=n”, and although it is modified manually in phpmyadmin, then in subscriptions/edit.php it does not reflect the change, it is as if it had no functionality.

Thank you so much

Finally, do you plan to migrate the stripe system from “Payment Request Button Element” to “Express Checkout Element” since I believe that updating this method would solve the limitations? (I don’t know if I’m right)

Thank you

Hi Wotrix,

1. We will look into SEPA/bank transfer and will add it to roadmap if it’s feasible.

2. At the time of the development of this feature, there was no option to use these methods in subscription (limitation by Stripe). Currently, it does seem that stripe now supports subscription checkout for these payment options. I’ve asked the team to take a look at it.

3. Thanks for reporting a bug – added to team’s todo.

4. Current method supports using wallets (by stripe, but not our codebase at the moment), so there is no immediate need to switch to express method.

I’ll send you the info via the support helpdesk if you’re interested. Thank you very much for your reply! I forgot that they had centralized support there. Sorry

Pre purchase questions are listed below. Can you please answer each one separately so that I get clear answers rather than just a brush stroke answer that may leave me hanging?

This is why my questions are numbered to make it easy for you to enumerate each answer clearly.

Don’t take offense to my request, but so many folks do this online and we are not on a phone where I can ask my question again if they don’t cover the topic, and we both don’t have to come back in a day or two to clear them up. Further, there is no doubt that many folks online will have the same questions as your demos are old. This doesn’t mean that your newer updates are not built with a different framework.

Here they are. Simple and sweet and they deal with CSS and layout.

======================================================================== 1. Does your back-end admin system and the front end form use Flex in it’s CSS?

======================================================================== 2. What version of Bootstrap is your Admin system built in? (The back-end system where I would manage and view payments)

2B. If it’s no longer Bootstrap, what do you use now? (You currently use old BS3 CSS)

======================================================================== 3. What version of Bootstrap is your default payment form built in? (This is the front end Stripe payment form that a customer will fill out to make a payment, This is different than my question 2 above and is asked for a reason. )

======================================================================== 4. Are there any SCSS files with either of the two templates? (Note, I’m not asking about CSS, but Sass files, but I’m doubting you use Sass, but you might as it makes for easy sitewide layout changes.)

======================================================================== 5. Are your CSS properties easily prefixed in any fashion to easily separate them from commonly used CSS terms like INPUT? (not the SCSS files I mention above in question 4)

For example .critical-gears INPUT { padding: 7px; }

(note the .critical-gears will only impact your form input elements and not form input elements that I already use on my site)

========================================================================

My questions above are asked because your demo uses BS3 which was current 13 years ago and Bootstrap 4 launched a decade ago to replace it. If a user uses any of the newer Bootstrap versions from BS4 up, the entire system is different because it uses Flex. And Bootstrap 5 is now several versions along and most every modern website now uses Flex layouts for ease of updates and no old school CSS hoops you have to jump through to make things work on all devices from mobile to desktop.

Thanks for your input.

Hi websitegurus,

First of all, our demo is the latest version that we have available. The dev version that is not released yet has improvements but they are related to PHP code, not UI/frontend.

1. both frontend and backend use only Bootstrap 3.3.1 at the moment.

2. 3.3.1

3. 3.3.1

4. No scss files used.

5. No, we mostly use standard Bootstrap CSS classes. Where custom is needed – we don’t have prefixes.

Our product is ready to use, even though it has outdated bootstrap – you don’t need to edit it in order to use, unless you really need/want to customize it, beyond the given tools like changing color scheme or logo.

Sorry for delay. Thank you so much for answering all the questions!

Hello Serge,

I saw that Stripe offers also a no-code payment terminal.

What is the difference between Stripe billing and the Critical Gears payment terminal besides the fact that Stripe charges a percentage fee for its service?

Does you solution offer to create coupons?

Is your solution multi-lingual (user-facing pages), e.g. in German?

Thanks,

Philip

Hi Philip,

We previously considered implementing coupons and multilingual support, but these features were not prioritized due to limited demand.

Our product functions as a user interface for Stripe, offering a variety of payment options. This includes donations where users can specify amounts, service subscriptions, and the ability to send direct links with URL parameters for specific services or invoices. The form is pre-filled with parameters from the URL, supporting multi-currency transactions and other capabilities (please refer to the attached list for more details). It’s important to note that all charges are processed through Stripe, and their fees apply as standard.

Additionally, our product extends the flexibility to accept PayPal payments alongside Stripe. This feature enhances your payment options, providing more convenience for your customers. We also offer a customer portal where your customers can log in and view/manage their subscriptions (requires a separate plugin)

By using our product, you can integrate Stripe and PayPal payments into your site with your own branding and design, streamlining the setup process and enhancing your brand presence compared to standard checkout options.

Hope this helps!

Hello, last update is long time ago. Meanwhile the script throws many many “Deprecated’s” on PHP 8.1 and 8.3…

Hi 123kay123,

8.1 and 8.3 support is on our list for the next update either in January or February.

...where you already must have PHP 8.4 in mind… ;-)

that would be the next release after that, as 8.4 comes with major upgrades, however not yet widely used.

In the future, are you planning to enable a custom Thank you redirect URL for each payment link, rather than for the entire system? There might be an instance where a specific payment link needs to be redirected elsewhere, rather than the default setting. I think that will be great feature addition for future buyers of your software!

Hey there,

Thanks for the suggestion. We didn’t have such plans but I’ll pass this idea on to the team for consideration.

Your Paypal (sandbox) checkout in your live-demo is not working… Could you please check and then enable a working Paypal (sandbox) checkout in your live-demo to try? It shows an error on my self hosted version…!

In order for paypal to work in sandbox mode, you must create paypal developer account and then use the credentials provided within that developer account for both merchant account and buyer account, in order to test the paypal flow.

Where can I find documentation for the setup of STRIPE webhook in the backend?

Hi cpi,

There is no documentation available for this at the moment. You can open support ticket at criticalgears.io/support-tickets and support staff can assist with some guidance.

Hi. Please reply to my ticket #28341 I need help!

Hi Makuni,

We replied to your ticket. Please review.

I need a Stripe terminal that will allow for subscriptions. However, it should be setup such as:

(1) You can charge a different amount on the first month (such as when you need to include a one-time setup fee with the first month’s payment), and then the regular charge monthly thereafter. A use case scenario is when you need to charge an initial one-time $100 setup fee to a $$50/month subscription, so the first payment should be $150 total (to include the $100), and then $50/month regular recurring charge thereafter.

(2) same concept as above if the subscription is quarterly, annual, etc

Is this something you are working on for this script?

Good day,

At this time, such functionality can be added only through custom development. If you’d like to get a quote – please reach out through our codecanyon profile form.

Hi, the last update support 3D for AMEX? safekey verfication? my customers cant pay due to “failed to authenticate your payment” and in stripe says that missing safekey (amex 3D) verification, but in the front end doesnt appear any widnow with amex safekey. Thanks

Hi ze00cr4ck,

An update with 3DS support is ready for release and will be released within this week.

ok so safekey for amex doesnt work for now?

Is it possible using this payment-terminal ?

- I need an automatic subscription setup using Stripe, where customers’ cards will be charged on a monthly basis.

- I need a manual process for existing customers (with their details and cards already added in Stripe) to initiate and make payments whenever they want.

Please suggest if both the conditions are fulfilled with this code, so we can proceed with purchasing this item. Thanks

Hi ThemeChampion,

1. This is implemented already. Subscriptions are automatically charged by Stripe, once subscription is setup through payment terminal.

2. That’s not possible with current product, unfortunately.
