Does the Windows app need to be hosted on A platform like Ultrahost?

How easy is it to install it and to get it up and going?

We purchased the app. We wanted to have an update done for a fee. They directed us to a site called ultahost. We’ve been trying for a week to explain the software update. Meanwhile, they keep trying to sell us a server. I don’t understand how they got such good reviews.

1) Can we integrate it with our own MS SQL and web-based software? We want the user, password, and other information to be retrieved through our own program.
