Hi! Does the RAG feature imply sending content to a third-party AI back-end operator? Does the plugin allow using a locally run model?
Also, do the voice and video call functions use any third-party integrations, or are the calls routed entirely through the server(s) where the Perfex instance is running?

RAG / AI The chatbot uses OpenAI’s API for both answers and embeddings (RAG). Your training/index data is stored on your CRM server. OpenAI is used when building the index and when generating replies. Local-only models are not supported out of the box eould need custom development.
Voice / video Calls use WebRTC in the browser. Signaling goes to your Perfex server over HTTPS. Media is peer-to-peer, not streamed through Perfex as a full phone switch. By default, STUN uses Google’s public STUN for NAT, you can add your own TURN server for strict networks. Pusher (if enabled) is used for real-time chat, not as the WebRTC media path.

Thank you for the suggestions this is on our todo list but since module is almost ready we added this to our backlog for future updates.
Currently customers are able to talk with their assigned customer admins. Admins on staff side have access to every customer.

Is it compatible with the SAAS module? That is, can chats be managed with the parent admin, and can tenants (clients of the parent admin) start a conversation via their admin dashboard?

We would also appreciate being able to do more with what we show in the app, as we don’t want to overwhelm our colleagues with files, but rather simply have tasks in the app that can be assigned, completed, and closed.

Thank you for reaching out — great question!
Yes, audio and video calling will be available in the upcoming v1.5.0 release. Staff will be able to initiate voice and video calls to other staff members as well as directly to clients, all from within the chat interface with a modern floating call UI. Screen sharing isn’t included in this version, but it’s definitely on our radar for a future update.
Beyond calls, v1.5.0 is shaping up to be our biggest release yet. The entire chat module has been completely redesigned from the ground up with a new Vue.js-powered interface, full dark mode support, draggable panels, and a much cleaner, more modern look across both the staff and client sides.
We’ve also built a fully configurable AI Chatbot that can be embedded on any external website. You can train it with your own content — text, URLs, files, Q&A and it handles visitor conversations, captures leads directly into your CRM, option to convert to customer, and can escalate to a human agent when needed. Staff get a dedicated live chat panel to pick up those conversations in real time.
On the messaging side, there are a ton of improvements reply to and forwarding, read receipts with timestamps, drag & drop file uploads, and enhanced group chats that can now be linked to CRM items like projects and invoices. There’s also a new floating notification widget, per-conversation mute, pin conversations, status filters, and full translations in 9 languages.
We’re currently in beta testing and plan to offer early access to a select group of clients before the public release. Can’t share an exact ETA just yet, but we’re in the final stretch.

Hi it would be very nice if the super admin could see staff members chats from the dashboard with the clients, also it would be very nice to have in the dashboard first the clients and then staff and groups, last would be very nice to select only the online clients and stay permanently with a setting

The chat module has taken longer than initially expected due to ongoing development, but it is now close to completion. I am currently testing it internally.
