Hi, I would like to display a different filter set on the mobile than on the desktop. Is that possible? Thanks for your support!

Hi Victor, sorry, I wasn’t clear. I have two filters on the shop page. The filter with the higher priority (filter for the categories) is displayed on the left side and the other filter (filter for specifications) at the top (woocommerce_before_shop_loop). Now I would like to display the upper filter with the lower priority on the mobile. Is that possible? Thanks for your effort!

Best regards, Pierre

That would require a third filter set for mobile which should contain all of the filters from both filter sets that you have separated on the desktop view. Please note the settings for them should be identical. If you have a filter with checkboxes on the desktop and dropdowns on mobile, it will cause issues.

So in mobile mode, you need to hide both desktop filters and show the container with the third filter set specifically for mobile.

OK, great, thanks for your advice!

I set the seo rules following the https://filtereverything.pro/resources/all-about-seo/. But it still doesn’t work

Hi menglinl1

Hi

On my site, I’m using the single variations plugin from weLaunch and I’m facing the issue that upon filtering not all variations are shown and/or not all available filter terms are shown. I think I have this issue since the beginning but wasn’t really able to solve it since then.

I sent the same request to the developers of weLaunch too as I’m not quite sure what to change.

Following a video with details to the problem: https://www.loom.com/share/3b2faee53f6b4dc495f42b6db28696cb?sid=7b17ebeb-03d4-4e29-af6c-b8ac1e7abbb1

Do you have any idea what I can try to make this work? Is it something related to you plugin?

I’m happy for every idea that points me in the right direction.

Thanks and best regards, Stefan

Hi Stefan

There hasn’t been any news from the development team on this as they are going through some reorganization and expansion, which is now nearing completion. So we are positive that soon there will be more updates with compatibility and new features.

Hi Victor. I wanted to share this insight with you because I was urged to find a solution and found a workaround for the issue. I already had a custom field (JetEngine) to store each variant’s hex code color value. Since all variant sizes have the same color, I noticed that the color filter functions properly. The reason, as you have already told me, is that every variant has the same color value in the custom field. Therefore, the color value is present even if only one size of the variant is shown in the catalog.

As a workaround, I now add a custom field to the level of variants that contains all the sizes in stock. The list of sizes is based on the global property pa_size, which is used to create the variants.

As I sync products from an external ERP, I update the list of available sizes in stock for all sizes of a specific color with each sync. Therefore, the variant displayed by the single variants plugin contains information about all sizes in stock for this color.

I added a filter based on this custom field that works perfectly in Filter Everywhere.

I wanted to let you know if it might be helpful in some ways.

Hi Stefan

Thank you for sharing this information. Yes, it can indeed be valuable, we’ll pass it on to the development team. We are always open to any information or solutions.

Hello! I have trouble displaying the filters on my Categories Archives (for posts). Filters work well on all of my Custom Taxonomy Archives pages, but they would not show on Categories Archives pages. I went through all troubleshooting info and tried pretty much everything, but no success. The debugging message says: No one Filter Set is related to this page. You can configure it in the Filter Set -> “Where to filter?” field. However, I have setup all positioning and query correctly and in the same way as for the Custom Taxonomy Archives, where the filters appear correctly.

Hi bsmolyanov

We have fully checked the site, and it took us a lot of time almost 2 hours in order to find the issue, as we had to check it all, step-by-step. The issue is that for some reason in the Meta Box post type and taxonomies, you duplicated post type and categories that were already created by default with WP and this was causing the issue. We deleted it all and seems like everything is working well now.

Please use such plugins with caution and do not duplicate already create posts type and their taxonomies. As it can cause a lot of issues.

Victor – thank you so much for your efforts and the vast amount of time you have dedicated in helping me with this matter. What you have done is absolutely exceeding any level of support I have received around here!

Thank you for your kind words and wonderful feedback, we really appreciate it. Have a great day!

Hi, I’m encountering a consistency issue with the filters. I have three Custom Post Types that have the same ACF fields. I created 3 filters specifying the type of publication to filter. On the interface, some of the filters display an available number, but when I click on them, the page tells me it can’t find any results.

How do I fix this please ?

Thank you

Best Regards

Hi genopsys

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

Do you have 3 different CPTs with the same custom fields applied to them? If this is the case, then this is the issue itself.

Hi,

I recently purchased the PRO version of Filter Everything for my WooCommerce site (https://b2b.tecnoriv.it/), but I am still encountering an issue with the filter behavior. Here are the details:

Problem: When I navigate to a product page and then use the breadcrumb to return to the category page, only the active category filter is visible (e.g., “https://b2b.tecnoriv.it/categoria/policarbonato/”), while all other filters disappear. I would like all available filters (for example, other product categories) to remain visible on the category page, regardless of the current selection.

Steps to Reproduce: Visit the main catalog page (link: https://b2b.tecnoriv.it/). Visit a product (e.g., https://b2b.tecnoriv.it/prodotto/policarbonato-compatto-protezione-uv-su-ambi-i-lati/). Click on the breadcrumb to navigate to the category page (e.g., https://b2b.tecnoriv.it/categoria/policarbonato/). On the category page, only the “Policarbonato” filter is visible, and all other filters disappear. I would like all filters to be visible, not just the one corresponding to the current category. Goal: My goal is to have all available filters visible on the category page, even when navigating from a product page. I want the user to be able to see and use all filters, not just the one corresponding to the category they are currently viewing.

Could you please advise if there is a setting I need to adjust, or if this is an issue that requires additional configuration in the PRO version? Thank you for your help.

Ester Puzzangaro

Hi Ester Puzzangaro

Thank you for your interest in the Filter Everything plugin.

That is absolutely correct behavior. For example, you have categories like cars, shoes. When you are in the cars category it would be logical to display data in filter terms related only to the posts that are available in this category, and not the size of the shoes to be visible there from another category or any other terms that are not connected to the cars at all.

In this case, you can simply configure the breadcrumbs to return you back to the shop/home page when you are inspecting any posts, instead of adding the category page links there as well to cause confusion.

Dear FilterEverythingPro Support Team,

I am writing to report a performance issue I’ve encountered while using the FilterEverythingPro plugin on my WordPress site. Specifically, the filtering process on my product download page (https://divisnutra.com/downloads/) is quite slow, which significantly impacts the user experience.

Here are some details about my setup:

WordPress Theme: Avada Page URL: https://divisnutra.com/downloads/ Issue: Filtering downloads takes a noticeably long time, and I’m unsure if this is due to the compatibility between the plugin and the Avada theme, or if there’s another underlying cause.

Could you kindly assist me in resolving this issue? Please let me know if you require any additional information to diagnose the problem. Your help in speeding up the filtering process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Best regards, Usman

Hi Usman

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

It looks like the issue is in the server response time. Whenever you choose filter terms it sends the request to the server in order to retrieve the needed data, and at this step, it takes a longer time. Also, we’d recommend checking the console, you have some errors there as well that can slow down the process.

Best Regards,

Hi, I’m trying to use the filters in the Wordpress Search Results, but no luck so far. Is the plugin supposed to allow filtering search results? (I’m using Avada, and the plugin has been working on other websites with archives pages, never tried on the search before…). Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. Which custom field are you talking about?

Hi stephvasko

The “province” custom field.

Best Regards,
- Victor

Indeed, this was causing the issue! Thanks so much for you help!

Could you tell me in detail how to add the canonicals with the plugin or with another plugin. I need you to explain it to me in detail. The last answer you gave me was not satisfactory at all. Thank you!

Hi smgcreativos7

We are sorry that the previous answer was not complete enough. The plugin has a hook “wpc_seo_canonical” that is responsible for the canonical URL customization. With the help of this hook, you can set canonical to the URLs that are indexed.

For more information and how it is working under the hood, please go to the plugin folder/pro/SeoFrontend.php file on line 510 you will find this function:

    private function canonical()
 {
        if( ! $this->isNoindex() ){
            $urlManager = Container::instance()->getUrlManager();
            $canonical = $urlManager->getTermUrl();
            $parts = explode("?", $canonical);
            $canonical = FLRT_PERMALINKS_ENABLED ? user_trailingslashit($parts[0]) : $parts[0];

            if( isset( $parts[1] ) ){
                parse_str( $parts[1], $get );

                foreach ( $this->get('allqueriedvalues') as $slug => $filterData ){

                    $slug = ( isset( $filterData['wp_entity'] ) &&  $filterData['wp_entity'] ) ? $filterData['e_name'] : $filterData['slug'];

                    if(
                        isset( $get[ $slug ] )
 &&
                        isset( $filterData['values'][0] )
 &&
 ( $get[ $slug ] === $filterData['values'][0] ) ){
                        $canonical = flrt_add_query_arg( $slug, $filterData['values'][0], $canonical );
 }
 }
 }

            $canonical = apply_filters( 'wpc_seo_canonical', $canonical );
            echo sprintf('<link rel="canonical" href="%s" />', esc_attr($canonical) )."\r\n";
 }
 }

As you can see, the hook “wpc_seo_canonical” in it to change canonical to your needs. Unfortunately, there are no plugins or addons to change it via an interface, you can configure it only via custom coding and using the presented hook.

Hi,

When I use a SEO rule for a product category the SEO rule description is added to the Woocommerce product category description. I would like to show the SEO rule discription instead of the Woocommerce product category discription (so just remove the Woocommerce product category description when a filter is activated).

How can I do this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi joostf1

On this page – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/all-about-seo/

There is an example of the code:

add_action('wp_head', 'wpc_add_filters_seo_description');
function wpc_add_filters_seo_description(){
    if( class_exists( 'FilterEverything\Filter\Container' ) ){
        $seoFrontEnd = FilterEverything\Filter\Container::instance()->getSeoFrontendService();

        // Specify here your hook where you want to see the SEO description
        $your_new_hook = 'woocommerce_archive_description';

        // Only if you need to hide the default description on category pages
        if( flrt_is_filter_request() ){
            // Remove WooCommerce archive description
            remove_action( 'woocommerce_archive_description', 'woocommerce_taxonomy_archive_description', 10 );
        }

        // Remove the default SEO description from the bottom of the page so it won't be duplicated
        remove_action('woocommerce_after_shop_loop', [ $seoFrontEnd, 'showSeoDescription' ], 5);

        // Add SEO description on your hook
        add_action( $your_new_hook, [ $seoFrontEnd, 'showSeoDescription' ] );
    }
}

You need to modify it to remove your description and apply that hook SEO Rules description.

This part is responsible for removing the default description from the page:

        // Only if you need to hide the default description on category pages
        if( flrt_is_filter_request() ){
            // Remove WooCommerce archive description
            remove_action( 'woocommerce_archive_description', 'woocommerce_taxonomy_archive_description', 10 );
        }

More likely you have another hook for that you need to modify it and modify the rest of the code to your new hook.

Hello, I am trying to apply the filters and can;t get it to work. It allows me to select the post type to filter, which is resources. Then I have to apply filtering if the page is: And the options given are common wordpress pages, post types including posts, pages, and resources, and taxonomies which includes all my taxonomies. I cant seem to get a configuration which works. I am initially needing the filters to show up on a page on my site called Resources, which is a template type called resources, which has a query list of my resources and a class of .resourceposts

Here is a url to the page: http://csepamap.000.pe/resources/

I would then need the filter on my search results template page and my all archives page.. Please help!

So we modified a bit the filter set on this page – https://csepamap.000.pe/fe-support-showcase/

It looks like a simple empty template, the rest is the custom CSS in order to make it look exactly the same as on your page – https://csepamap.000.pe/resources/

For the rest, you can copy the shortcode on our test page place it in the needed place on your page, and apply the custom styles in order to make it look the same.

Also, you need to change in the filter set “Where to filter” dropdown to your resources page.

Best Regards,
- Victor

Victor, Thank you for the help. It is almost working but if you see the page at https://csepamap.000.pe/resources/ i have it styled correctly, and looks like it knows what it wants to filter, but it is just not filtering them, and then i need the filters to be on the template pages but in the settings it seems you can only put them on specific pages, so i dont know how to get the filters onto the template:search results or template: archives…

Hi cmrodican

We made it work on the resource page, and the issue was that the query was incorrect – https://prnt.sc/Nkkcul87CQ4t we have set it to the first one, and it is filtering as it should.

Now to the settings filter sets on the different pages, the singular pages need separate filter sets. The archive pages can use one filter set placed on the needed taxonomy – https://prnt.sc/4QmynUR3zGUA and to place it on the search page (actual WordPress search page) you need to place the filter set on “Common WordPress pages + search page”

Hi, i just bought PRO version and it’s working perfectly with Polylang. The only problem that i’m facing is that, after configuring a filter with blog categories, in the blog page for the default language (english) the default category is missing, but… is extrange because with the same configuration, the default category is appearing in the filter selection in the other languages blog pages

Hi garajedoce

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

Yes, the default category is excluded by default, as it is usually not used and is recommended not to be used.

There is a hook: that excludes it from the “Where to filter”

add_filter('wpc_taxonomy_location_terms', 'flrt_remove_default_category_location', 10, 2);

And the hooks that exclude them from filter terms, one for CPT and the second one for the Woo products:

add_filter('wpc_filter_term_query_args', 'flrt_exclude_uncategorized_category', 10, 3);

add_filter('wpc_filter_get_taxonomy_terms', 'flrt_exclude_product_visibility_terms', 10, 2);

So what you need to do is write the code that will not exclude them with the help of the hooks.

Hi

We’re using the Pro version of FIlter Everything, but when a sub-category is selected it’s changing how the breadcrumbs appear.

Normally the breadcrumbs are horizontal e.g. Home / Women, but when selecting a sub category they change to vertica, e.g.

1. Home 2. Women

You can see this in action here: https://myelitewardrobe.com/product-category/women/

Select a sub category such as bags and see how it changes the breadcrumb.

We use SEO Press Pro to dynamically add the breadcrumbs.

Any ideas how to stop this from happening?

Many thanks

Hi richpig

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

We’d recommend redirecting this question to the support of the breadcrumbs plugin. It looks like it is using CSS only for the archive/singular pages, but with the additional filtering URL particles it is not applying those styles anymore.

So perhaps they can provide you with this CSS so you can apply it from theme customization CSS.

Hello,

I’ve just purchased the plugin and activate the pop-up for mobile. This works great but the filter button is shown on every page, even on the cart and check-out. How can this be avoided?

I use GeneratePress.

Thanks in advanced,

Frank

Hi Frank

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

Please check this page – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/mobile-devices-new-approach/ specifically the “The mobile button is visible on all pages” It contains instructions on how to deal with it.

Hi, I am filtering a lot of product attributes with Filter Everything, and it works as intended. One question though: because of my large filter lists, I would like to expand each filter section via tab functionalit….

and i found it under “more options”. Everythings fine, thank you!

Hi karljoaquin

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

You can use folding on the filters to make it look like in this demo – https://demo.filtereverything.pro/product-category/clothing/women/ scroll down to the filters to see folded filters.

You can turn it on from more options on the needed filters – https://prnt.sc/QyIZf7YNaTtH

Hey
I have some product-categories camps->place and camps->person Now i want to place a filter with two dropdowns place ans persons. but i can’t se a filter with the 2 subcategories

Hi kowerk-team

Unfortunately, currently, you can’t create multiple filters from one taxonomy.

If you need to have 3 separate filters in one filter set, you either need to have 3 separate taxonomies, 3 separate product attributes, or 3 separate custom fields. Or mixed 2 taxonomies, 1 custom field, etc.

The idea is that they have to be different entities.

You can use the ACF plugin for custom fields – https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/

and the Custom Post Type UI for custom taxonomies – https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/

Generally, there is no support for accounts whose support period has expired following the support policy.

But we can help you later after all requests from accounts with valid support periods are processed. It may take some time—days or weeks.

If you want to receive it faster, please extend the support period, and we will process the request with the priority for supported accounts.

I am needing to set up two separate search filter and only one short code is available. How do you generate a second short code for a secondary filter? Each filter is independent.

Hi TripleRmarketing

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

All you need to do is apply two filter sets on the same page. If you want to display them on the same page, then use two shortcodes [fe_widget]. Inside the filter set at the bottom of the settings, you can set the priority option, the one with the higher priority number will be displayed first in the filter widget. This way you can configure their priority in order to display them in the correct shortcode.

Hello, I am using the Everything Filter, and it is amazing. My question concerns The Flatsome theme I am using, I am trying to use product variations by Flatsome, but it is working only on 4 or 5 products only, Only a few products can show swatches images on the shop page.

Please help me to fix the issue. Thank you.

Hi Roza83

Thank you for choosing Filter Everything PRO.

By any chance, do you mean the “Product Variation Swatches”?

If yes, then for the brand/color swatches please check this documentation page – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/brands-and-color-swatches/

I am trying to add a filter to my category archive page (which shows all of the posts associated with that category). For the where to filter, I have chosen Categories, and then picked the specific category. For the Post Type to filter, I chose category as the URL prefix but am unsure if that is correct. I added the shortcode to the archive page but the filter does not show up. Can you let me know what I might be doing wrong?

Hi lovesanaction
