Hi, is there a way to apply the 2.9% Stripe fees to the customers price?
Hello Peter,
With the current version of HBook, it is not possible to add fees depending on the payment gateway selected by the client.
We appreciate that it could be an interesting addition to the plugin and have added it to the wishlist for future development. However, as there are as well other aspects of HBook that we wish to improve and develop, I can not guarantee that it will be added soon. Thank you for your comprehension.
Please note as well that it is forbidden by law in the European Union to charge the customer for the bank or gateway fee: https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/finance-funding/making-receiving-payments/electronic-cash-payments/index_en.htm.
The only workaround I could think of would be to create a Coupon. Let’s take the example where I would wish to charge a 2.9% fee for customer who choose to pay with Stripe:
You would create a coupon (for example “PAYBYTRANSFER” ) in HBook > Rates and you will set it as a 2.9% discount. Then, you use the “Explanation text” that can be customized in HBook > Text to insert a different text for your bank transfer option (so it is displayed only when your client selects that option). In this explanation text, you would say something like “By selecting this payment method, you have a discount of 2.9%. To apply, insert the coupon code PAYBYTRANSFER in the form above.”.
I perfectly understand that it might not suit your needs since it is only a workaround!

Are you using HBook or is it a pre-sales question? HBook is an online booking system, it is not a PMS. You don’t manage utility bills, staff salary, etc…
You can export a CSV of the data regarding reservations/customers for a specific period. You can select the data you wish to export, and open this CSV in any Excel type software. Then, in Excel, you can work on the data for your reports (ex: number of reservations, average amount per reservations, total amount for a month, etc.).

Also how do we attach the document (Invoice) to the client email notifitcation?
Hello,
It is currently not possible to have the Invoice document attached as PDF to an automatic email. You can either send an email as invoice, with the content of the “Invoice” document, for example. Or do a PDF print of the “Invoice” and send it manually.
It is in our wishlist for future developments to offer the option for dynamic documents being sent as PDF attachment for automatic emails, but I can not currently give you a timeframe for when it will be added.

Any way to integrate a custoomer account, so that they can view their bookings etc?
Hello,
We currently don’t provide a customer area where the client would manage his reservation. If a customer wish to change his dates or cancel his reservation, he will have to contact directly the hotel.
If this is an important aspect for you, I suggest that you hire a developer, as it won’t be available in a near future, since we have other features we have given priority for the next developments.

Do you mean Nexi, which is for Alphabank in Greece? We actually have an add-on for CardLink, which covers Nexi/Alphabank, WordLine/Eurobank and CardLink. Is it what you are after?

Hi, how is security deposit handled? We set a $1000 security deposit. Is this manually drawn, or is there some preauthorisation to draw $1000 in the event that some damage is incurred?

It is not a pre-authorization, as pre-authorizations are only valid for 8 days with Stripe.
You can either set that you ask for a deposit to be paid at the time of the booking (and then refund it). Or set that there is a deposit but it is charged only in case of damage or loss.
If you have set that you wish to “Save payment method” in HBook – Payments – Stripe settings, then you will be able to charge part/total of the security bond, in case of damage or loss (or refund it after the stay, if it has been paid). You can do so directly from HBook admin reservation list. You will see a “Charge” (and a “Refund”) actions. This is done manually and it is processed through Stripe, even if the action is done from HBook admin.

Thank you for your interest in our themes. The obvious difference is the design. Both themes work the same way and have the same functionalities, but the design options are different. The best way to decide which theme is the more suited for your project is to check our demos to get a feeling for both themes. And pick the one for which you have a preference in terms of design.
With the current version, only Adomus offers a video hero. It is planned for a future update for Lavilla. I mention it in case this is a criteria for you.

Does this allow for custom on certain fields? if so are they searchable? example houses with pools avail within a date range

Is it possible to create discounts coupons?

Yes, you can create coupons that, once applied, will give a fixed amount off, or a percentage off. And you can as well set discounts (for example, discounts for longer stays). For both coupon codes and discounts, you can set rules for them to apply (for example, minimum stay length, season, etc.).

Hello! One of my clients uses this plugin for apartment rentals and they are very happy.
Just one question, is there a way to configure that reservations where the payment has failed are saved along with the client’s data as well?
Currently, when someone starts the payment process, if the payment fails there is no way to know. We can only know that there are reservations where payment has failed because there are gaps in the reservation numbers.
If we learn that there was a problem with the payment, we may call the customer to offer another payment method.

If the payment fails, then the client will see a message indicating that the payment fails, and he can try to pay again. You can as well modify HBook text or add text to suggest contacting you if there is any issue.
The customer is created before moving to the payment step, so you can see customer details, even when a payment process is abandoned. You will see the customer in the “Customers” list, without attached reservations. However, the searched data is not saved, as the reservation is deleted if it is not completed, and the room released for another reservation. There are many possibilities for a reservation process initiated but not completed (customer is testing, changes his mind, etc.). What you can do is check the customer details if you see in your payment gateway dashboard that you have a failed payment. Some payment gateways allow having admin notification sent out in case of failed payment.

I am looking for a solution to list Coliving Rooms on my website.
The plugin should be able to connect to the Coliving booking system (calendar? CRM?) to get the available rooms.
Important is also that there will be a 10% commission charged for each booking.
The booking fee, excluding the commission, should be transferred to the Coliving.
How to deal with changes and cancellations? Is there a solution for this in the plugin?

Regarding connection with Coliving.com booking system, I read that they accept iCal sync. It would be worth checking though. HBook supports iCal synchronization, so you would be able to connect HBook calendars (website) to Coliving.com
You can charge a fee of 10% (be it that it is a processing fee, or commussion).
However, you can not split the online payment done by the guest and have the booking fee transferred to Coliving.com, or the commission set aside for you. 
This would need customization or needs to be managed outside HBook.

I hope this message finds you well. I have been exploring right plugins before making a purchase, and I’m hoping you can assist me with a few questions below:
1) Our Ski Lodge aims to implement a single Booking System/Calendar, with separate access for Members (requiring login) and the public (without login). Is this achievable?
2) The Lodge desires bookings to open for members two months in advance of public access. For instance, member bookings open on 1st March, while non-member bookings open on 1st May. Is this possible?
3) The Lodge also wants the flexibility for guests to book either an entire room or individual beds (similar to a hostel setup). Additionally, is it possible to set a minimum booking requirement of 2 people for selected rooms?
4) Regarding payments, for member bookings made between 1st March and 30th April with an option to pay later, is it possible to set a deadline for the balance payment by 1st May? For non-members, could there be a maximum 7-day payment period?
5) How can the system be structured to manage credit nights for members? Ideally, members should be able to view their credit balance upon signing in, and is there an administrative interface for booking managers to access and manage this?
6) Lastly, is it possible to incorporate off-peak, low-peak, and peak pricing for each month into the system?

Thank you for your interest in our booking system HBook.
We don’t provide a member access, with login, and that will allow for different booking conditions. What seems more appropriate for your needs is to actually have 2 sites instead of one. For example, in a WordPress Multisite, with public main site and sub-site for members (with login). This will allow you to: - open 2 months in advance for members - have different payment deadlines. You will indicate your deadline for payment in email templates and you can have scheduled emails sent out (for example a reminder if the payment has not been done yet).
3. You can set HBook with individual beds. Let’s say you have a 4-bed dormitory, you will create an accommodation type “1 bed in 4-beds dormitory”) and indicate that you have 4 of this type. When creating accommodation as rooms, you can for example create an accommodation type “Double room” and indicate that you have 3 of them (if you have 3 double rooms in the lodge). Yes, you can set a minimum occupancy.
5. HBook does not use “credit nights”. Is it that members pay a fee that give them credit nights? Well, this will need to be managed outside HBook. You can create “Coupons” in HBook that will be the way for members to use their credits. Let’s say a member John Doe has a credit night of 3 nights at $100, you can create a coupon of $300, with single use and that can be emailed to the customer. You can as well create a coupon of $100, with 3 uses. So he can use 3 times the coupon code.
6. You can create the seasons as you need. Yes, you can have peak, low-peak and off-peak. And you will select which dates/days are part of each season.
Your project has some requirements that are not offered by HBook. You will probably need to work around this and may need to have some customization (for the night credits, for example). Kindly note that we can not assist you with customization of the plugin.

HI, I’ve had a problem since the country selection was introduced. In the form with the booking details, two combo boxes are displayed for selecting the country Only in the second combo box is it possible to select a country while the first always remains empty. In practice the country field of the reservation is always empty even if I insert a country in the second combo box.

Hi guys! Purchase and set up your application and it’s very simplified and easy, all running. There is not much around about this application, very straightforward. Great job, thank you I found some critical improvements and some general improvements on the application.
1. Critical: iCal Sync: when there is a booking comes to a platform (for eg booking.com) it syncs and blocks the date but when the booking gets cancelled or modified in booking.com or Airbnb, then it doesn’t sync. It remains the original booking. If the booking is cancelled, it blocks the booking.com slot too due to two ways sync.
2. General: There are a few such as guest booking modification requests…, cancellation requests, automation, and Checked-in features, For eg, if the guest checks in, then it should have options to check in because sometimes we only take guests’ money if they check-in. Booking flexibility options such as refundable, and non-refundable on the front end, may be an option there, I need to learn more.
Actually I wanted to point out some other improvements but I thought I would play around on it and make sure it can’t be fixed before getting back to you.

1. Ical sync If a reservation is canceled in booking.com, it will be as well cancelled in HBook, and the dates will be available. Please check in HBook – Ical sync – Import settings that you have set that the status should be updated when it is cancelled in the external calendar. Else, please send us a support request so we can debug this with you: https://maestrel.com/contact-support/
2. General If a guest with to modify his reservation, he will contact you. You can edit the reservation from the admin. The invoice will be updated, and you can send a manual email.
Regarding check-in, is it that you wish to mark a guest as “Checked in”? We have had this request in the past, to be able to tick a checkbox when a guests did the check-in, but it hasn’t been requested in the past couple of years. Is it what you are after?
