One of the things I notice is that it keeps importing the same post over again if there are no new post…..Mastermind will just keep repeating the same post….how do I stop that? Some feeds don’t post new content everyday. When mastermind checks it, it just keeps reposting the same post over again. I have one post that has been imported over 10 times!!!!!!. How do I stop this?

First of all, thank you for your purchase.
Please go to the Mastermind plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ menu and be sure to have the ‘Do Not Check For Duplicates’ checkbox Unchecked. If it is not unchecked, please uncheck it.

It is unchecked and it is still posting duplicates. It’s not checking for duplicates. All of my blogs have the same posted several times. I will send you a private message with my login details for where the plugin is installed.

I checked and the plugin did not create any posts since I updated it on your site, please check the ‘Activity and Logging’ menu of the Mastermind plugin for details.
Are you sure that the duplicates were not already on the site? Please delete existing duplicates and check if new duplicates appear.

Nope, the time stamps are on the post. I think what is happening is a site doesn’t have any new content, it just keeps reimporting without checking for duplicates. I didn’t notice it until I switched it to every 2 hours. If you switch to every few minutes, you will see it just keeping reimporting the same post. You can than go to the site where it’s importing and click on post, you will see the duplicates along with the timestamp it was imported. It’s a great plugin. The only issue I’m having is the duplicate posts.
Really interesting issue, as on my part duplicate checking and filtering works.
Also, on your server, no suspicious activity is showing in logs. Please send me in email a pair of duplicate post URLs from your site, so I can be sure we are on the same page and I check the same duplicates as you do.

Im looking at the logs and I see where posts are being skipped because they already exist but I also see some posts it’s not skipping over so it must be something in the feed url that mastermind isn’t detecting the post already exists???? It’s not doing it with all feeds. All feeds are posting to the same sites so it can’t be the sites.

The strange part is that I am unable to see actual duplicates on your site, as all the links you send appear normal on my part.

I deleted the duplicates because they were getting on my nerves. Here’s a link with more duplicates. This is getting annoying because it is intermittent. It will keep pulling the same post until I delete it. I updated the plugin. I’ll let you know if I have any issues. Just one more minor thing. I’ ve tried using %Read_more % but there’s no content. I would like to have the content but I also want to credit the original post so that I’m not accused of plagirism. It’ common practice to include the author’s name and a link back to the original post when using rss feeds. I don’t see a way to do that.

I checked and on this specific site, probably you have your SEO plugin automatically add to post titles the following text ” – Just Pawsome Pets”.
This will make duplicate checking break in the Mastermind plugin, as it does not expect this string to be added to all titles from your target site.

Ive disabled the seo plugin and it is still occuring.
If the plugin adds a a title, why isn’t it doing to all posts? It seems to be just specific posts.

I checked again and I was wrong, this issue is not coming from the SEO titles being added to the post titles, as the SEO title addition is gone now, however, the issue still appears.

Yes, the Mastermind plugin has similar features to Echo RSS, however, some features will not be found in it (like the one you mentioned, of using the FIFU plugin), because of the remote posting limitations.
However, the advantage of this plugin is that it is able to post to multiple other WordPress sites simultaneously.

Is there a way to add credit for the posts? I also notice the plugin doesn’t add any backlinks to the original url or no way to credit the original author. This could be seen as plagiarism. Is there a way to give credit to the rss feeds to the original author and url?

Quick question…..the plugin is working great but I’ve notice I am no longer able to auto post anymore to facebook. I use wp to buffer and have tried several other autoposters and none of them work with imported content from Mastermind. Jetpack is the only plugin that posts to facebook automatically but you can only use one account. How can I get posts imported content from Mastermind Multisite to automatically post to facebook. I have too many posts and wp sites to manually post. I need to be able to auto post from all of my wordpress sites. thanks

The problem isn’t the auto poster plugin, none of the plugins are detecting that it’s an imported rss feed from another site. The auto posters work when I create a post. None of the auto posters work when I run the mastermind from another site and is imported. Also I’m already paying for Buffer to auto post to all of my social media platforms so I don’t want to buy another plugin. I don’t think it has to do with the plugins. it’s has more to do with the auto post plugin not being able to detect the post from mastermind.
Oh, I see. In case the plugins you already have don’t detect posts which are created using the WP Rest API (the method which Mastermind is using to create posts), I suggest you contact the developers of the auto poster plugin and ask them if it is possible to add support also for WP Rest API posting detection and publishing to Facebook of the created posts using this method.
As unfortunately the Mastermind plugin can use this single option to remotely post to other WordPress sites, there is no alternative for this.

This is a bummer. Other than jetpack, the other plugins don’t support wp rest api. I’ve tried reaching out to them. The mastermind plugin works great but unfortunately I’m unable to auto post to social media platforms. I have too many wp sites to post manually every day to social media. Jetpack is the only plugin that works with wp rest api but it will only work with one fb page. I can’t auto post to multiple fb pages. With Buffer I can post to multiple fb pages but Buffer doesn’t support wp rest api. My sites were fully automated until I started using mastermind. The rss feed plugin I was using doesn’t work anymore and I couldn’t find a suitable replacement until I found mastermind…..or so I thought. At this point mastermind is not as useful to me if I’m am unable to auto post anything. It provides content but the fact that I can’t auto post really sucks big time.

Hello, I’ve been testing out the demo. I can’t get it to work. I’ve setup the application password but nothing seems to be posting. WHen I use the crawler, there are post but it’s not importing into the target blog. I’m getting a lot of failed to post errors. Other than the application password, is there another setting that has to be done on the target blog to allow it to post? Thanks

The plugin requires the WP API to be enabled on the target site. Please check if this is enabled on your target site, as the above error suggests that it is disabled. Please check if you have other plugins which block the WP Rest API.

It will be able to import posts from your WordPress subsites, the only requirements is that they have the WordPress API activated (but this is active by default on WordPress, so it should not be an issue).

My need is to create a single home page for the multisite network, where to show the previews of the posts (title and image, date) but that by clicking you go to the site of the original network of the post, so do not replicate the contents and images but preview only. I got an issue about Rest API. I upgraded my site to Wordpress to 5.2.4. My site opens Rest API for everyone at {my domain}/wp-json/wp/v2/posts. I use plugin “Disable WP REST API” to prevent it and got an issue with your plugin. Every posts was imported to Uncategorized category. How to fix it? I think it because of Slug. Because this string comes from the inside of the RSS feed, it cannot be removed in the current plugin version. However, if you are interested in removing this, and you know regex, I can make a payed custom plugin update, to add regex stripping of content to the plugin, and remove this string from the RSS feed importing.

The plugin uses wp-cron for automatic running. Wp-cron is triggered by website visits, so on a blog without visitors, it might now be triggered.
You can configure here a cron job that calls your website automatically every hour, and it will also trigger wp-cron: https://cron-job.org/en/
You can create a new cron job here and point it to your website’s root address and it should work.
