We’re having trouble activating the PRO license of your product. We’ve successfully installed the .zip of “Filter Everything PRO” plugin and generated the license Key throught Envato/codecanyon, but when submitting it on the plugins “license” section it throws an “Unknown Error”. We’ve tried entering the purchase code and the license key several time again but no luck. We’ve tried referring to your documentation too but we couldnt see anything about license activation problems.
What can we do to make it work?

Thank you for the screenshot you provided. I checked your license key and realized that it works correctly. But I did not find domains of your dev and product sites on my license server. It is the evidence that on your hosting outer connections are forbidden or maybe PHP CURL module is disabled or even does not configured.
Please, ask your hosting provider support if the PHP CURL works on your site and ask them enable it.

In general to solve the problem once and forever you have to add to your recipes container unique ID or CSS class. And after to specify it as value for the CSS id or class of the Posts Container option. Or you can just set there this value: .fusion-layout-column.fusion_builder_column_4_5
and it will work if you will not change your recipes column in Avada page builder.

I’ve been using your plugin for a few months now and I really like it! I’ve just set some SEO rules for <title></title> and H1 title. It works fine but on my menu bar the menu link’s name also changes to the H1 title. Is there any way to make it NOT change?

As I see you use Divi menu and it seems it uses hook ‘the_title’ for the current menu item and this is the reason, why this menu item gets the same name as H1 title.

Please, note that License key and purchase code are different things. To set License key, please go to Filters -> Settings -> License, click on the “Get your License Key” https://prnt.sc/-ehm9df3H_XT and you will be redirected to the new page. Log in there with your Envato credentials and you will see your License key for the Filter Everything PRO plugin.

Outer, external connections is a technical term. In other words, the problem is in the configuration of your server and you have to solve this with your hosting support.
Optionally you can send me credentials to your /wp-admin in accordance with this document I will check it myself.

I checked your site and it looks like you have some cache module on your server or maybe security settings that block outcoming requests. As I see your site sent signal that Filter Everything PRO plugin was installed from 16.09 but we know that the plugin was installed before.
So it looks like sometimes your site send outcoming requests but not always. I think this is related with your one.com services and if you will disable all security and cache/performance settings in your account I think you will be able to enter the license. Please, try to do this and let me know about the result.

You have to disable masonry effect for your Divi posts module to make posts visible after they loaded by AJAX. Or you have to re-initiate masonry function after they are loaded.

About AJAX and masonry – I would be glad to help you with this, but it is something out of CodeCanyon item support scope. You have to solve this by yourself or ask a JavaScript developer to help you or decide to disable Masonry or AJAX if they do not work one with other simultaneously.

I have to say you that in general filtering is process of narrowing of existing posts that you see on the page before filtering. In other words you can not add new posts with filters, but only narrow posts list by selected criterion.
So if your single page does not contain posts list, you have nothing to filter there. Add please your posts list on the desired page and try to configure filters.

Yes, sure. It is all possible. If these 3 pages are singular pages (for example Page 1, Page 2, Page 3) you have to create 3 Filter Sets and point them to all these 3 pages in the field “Where to filter?” accordingly – Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
Also you have to add FIlters widget in sidebar or widget area on these pages. And what is very important – on these pages posts grid should be present. For example it can be Posts module in Elementor or custom posts loop created in PHP code of page’s template.

Today I updated the plugin but… It works correctly only in default page for my “agents” category; if I try to use it in another page, where I put the widget that shows the agents, I can chhoose the filter but it doesn’t show the result in the same page. In general plugin configuring it is something out of the item support scope here on CodeCanyon and it expects that you have enough experience with WordPress to use them.
But your issue is known and common and possible reasons are:
- Wrong WP_Query selected in the “And what to filter?” field of the Filter Set. Please try to experiment with different WP_Queries in the dropdown.
- Cache issue (WP_Query is cached). You have to check and maybe disable your cache plugins or modules in your hosting provider dashboard.
- AJAX enabled but wrong value for CSS id or class of the Posts Container specified. Please, disable the AJAX feature, until you will ensure that filtering works in general.

When you go to shop (https://foxfireonline.com/shop/) the screen brings up basically all of our products and no matter what filters you click on it stays there so you would have to scroll through pages to get to what you were looking for.

It could means you have some plugins or maybe custom code that shows different content for logged in and logged out user. There are two possible ways how to solve it:
1. To show the same content for logged in and logged out users
2. Try to experiment with different values in the “And what to filter?” field of your Filter Set.

In general it is something out of scope from the CodeCanyon item support. I can only help you if my plugin does not work properly or has bugs.
But it seems for some reason your server shows different content for logged in and logged out users. This can be consequence of the server configuration, not only because of 3rd party plugins or custom code. As option you can ask your hosting provider support about this.
The conflict appears to be related to the https://wholesalesuiteplugin.com plugin which does change content between logged in and not logged in non-admin users. Filter works fine when logged into the admin, but not when logged out or a logged in customer.
Is this something that can be resolved in a plugin update? or is there an alternate Wholesale Pricing Woocommerce plugin known not to cause similar conflicts?

In 99% cases reason of such behavior is that Filters widget placed in the container that becomes hidden on mobile devices. IN this case you have to make it visible on mobile or to put FIlters widget in another sidebar/widget area.

We have used the Filter Everything pro plugin succussfully but the plugin has caused a bug with the latest wordpress update that means ALL the pages on the site don’t work

I have installed Pro but my client’s site is using Divi and the Theme Builder for category pages. The filter works without ajax and generates nice SEO friendly URLs but:
a) it’s not updating the meta data and description based on the rules I’ve set. Each filter page is just showing the original category text – this is critical
b) it won’t work with ajax enabled – the loading cog spins and seems to get stuck, and the content doesn’t get loaded

I have even just tried this on the standard WooComerce template and a fresh vanilla install and the SEO rules still don’t seem to be working. I click and filter and the page reloads but the category text and meta data do not change. This is with the rule added, index depth added and site being indexible. Is there an email address or Skype ID so I can get this quickly resolved with you?

I did get it working on the vanilla instance. The issue there was that I didn’t realise you need a separate rule for each filter combination/URL permutation.
However, with the exact same settings I can’t get the meta data or SEO description to show on the Divi version – https://corc-aws.opacedev.com/sofas-armchairs
Initially I created the category pages using the Divi Theme Builder, but the current version is just default WooCommerce and it’s still not working.

I recommend you to check this paragraph https://filtereverything.pro/resources/seo-rules/#create-seo-rule about how to create SEO Rule and compare it with your current settings. It looks like you made your site closed from indexing on WordPress Settings level.
I have read that. This is a dev site for testing and we do not want it indexed. It seems like a strange rule given this reason. However, I have read the rule previously and temporarily disabled the noindex setting on multiple occasions, but the SEO rules still do not work. I’m confident that isn’t the reason.

I checked your site and realized that SEO Rule works as expected. I enabled indexing in WordPress Settings and opened filter results page that matches to the rule .../product-category/{any}/colour-fam-{any}. As I see SEO title, Meta description, SEO description works as expected. I’ve sent you screenshots with these values in email.
H1 title does not work because you have no H1 title on a Product category page, but you have some text instead of it. To make H1 title works in accordance with SEO Rule, please put there regular WorePress H1 title there.

I can see that the meta title/meta description is showing correctly in the source code. I didn’t notice that before because neither the SEO description or H1 were updating on the front end so assumed the whole thing wasn’t working.
I can now see the SEO description at the very bottom of the page but I’m sure this wasn’t there previously. How do we control where this gets displayed as the intention was that it would show instead of the standard/parent category text at the top – https://prnt.sc/RWLpz2qaHWyK?

These are both H1 tags added using Divi either as a Text module with H1 included or dynamic post/archive title as H1 – https://prnt.sc/yy1OSwa6tBHd. As you can see, neither are getting updated.
As I’m sure you understand, it’s essential for SEO that we can get the H1/SEO description displaying correctly on any filter pages (in place of the existing text) using Divi. Can you please explain what I am missing?
Also, I have disabled index settings again for now as we do not want the site getting indexed.

I understand your problem and I can say that H1 title and SEO Description can be displayed only via default WordPress hooks or at least popular plugins hooks. Technically impossible to know what hooks are available on a particular website,.
In case of SEO Description they are – 'woocommerce_after_shop_loop' and 'get_the_archive_description'
'woocommerce_page_title', 'get_the_archive_title', 'avada_page_title_bar_contents', 'get_the_archive_title', 'post_type_archive_title', 'elementor/utils/get_the_archive_title'
I can add desired Divi module hooks in the next plugin update if you will provide me with these hooks.
Does that mean I can’t get the H1 and SEO Description to display using Divi unless there is an update to your plugin to include the necessary hooks? Can you please confirm when this will be as my client is on a deadline and we may need to look at alternative solutions?
With the Divi being one of the most popular themes for WP, I’m amazing this hasn’t already been included along with the likes of Elementor and Avada.

I would be glad to help you but usually popular WordPress themes use default WordPress hooks for their titles and archive descriptions. And Divi also uses them. And I already added these hooks in my plugin.
But you use some specific module to display a text instead of regular title or descriptiopn and I don’t know what exactly module it is. I don’t know what exactly hook you ask me to add in the plugin.
In general I have to say that such request is not provided by the CodeCanyon support policy and I can only do it as my gesture of goodwill for you.
The color swatches feature already added in my development list, but when this will be ready I don’t know yet. But I can notify your here in this comment thread when this will happen.
I’m still working on this as the project has been delayed. I have a a function which now hides the default category text and shows the SEO description from Filter Everything Pro at the top of the category page when a filter is selected e.g. https://corc-aws.opacedev.com/sofas-armchairs/item-type-orthopaedic-chair/
However I can also see the original SEO description below the product grid within the ‘wpc-page-seo-description’ div tag. This is automatically set to display none in the CSS which I have overridden for now so that I can see both – https://prnt.sc/gCvamrdERjah
How do I permanently remove this second instance of the SEO description at the bottom of the page rather than just hiding it with CSS?

It’s not obvious that the page has even reloaded. Is it possible to auto collapse the filter sidebar/popup?

About Filters widget behaviour on mobile devices – you can choose what scenario is best for your site. For example enable Mobile Pop-up filters widget + AJAX and after selection filters visitor can click on the Apply button and the widget will be hidden without reloading page.
Optionally you can write your own JavaScript that hides the widget when you need, but you never know when visitor ended filters selection and if you will hide it after each click on a filter (JS trigger ‘ready’) it will be annoying behaviour.

Hello, unfortunately the new functionality of taxonomy numeric input filter released in 1.7.0 is not working for woocommerce product with attributes. Numbers are correctly filled into the range but when moving the slider no product is found. I need to give you credentials in order to view demo (site it’s protected)

I checked the problem and realized that there is bug in the plugin related with your taxonomy name, that contains ”-” character. I fixed this bug on your plugin copy and it will be fixed in the next plugin update.
So just use your current plugin copy and update it when the next will be available.
There is another bug. Taxonomy filter doesn’t start from comma step as a min value (for example 0.5) but always from 1.

In general it’s not a bug, the minimum value is the lowest value among the terms in the selected taxonomy. Usually it is rounded to the nearest integer. So if you need minimum value for example 0, please create term with this value.
I have some terms with 0.5 but range starts from 1.
There are two possible reasons/ways to solve this:
1. You have to reset terms cache by adding to your site URL part ?reset_filters_cache=true and opening any of your site page.
2. You opened filtered results page (or any other page with your filtered posts), where there is no posts with the value 0.5 among that you see on this page. Range filter automatically re-calculate Min and Max values in dependancy from the posts you see on the current page.
That’s not the case. I checked the problem and realized that your are absolutely right – it was a bug. I fixed it on your plugin copy and added fix for the next plugin update. So just use plugin as usual and update it, when the new version will be available.

1. If no one SEO data is changed on filtering result pages it means that SEO Rules do not work and there could be several reasons. Please, read this manual carefully and try to set up SEO Rule step by step – https://filtereverything.pro/resources/seo-rules/#create-seo-rule
2. Unfortunately no, only ”/” can be used as separator between different filters.
3. I think you can try to use special plugin or look on ths article – https://muffingroup.com/blog/remove-category-from-wordpress-url/#:~:text=category%20prefix%20out%3A-,Go%20to%20your%20WordPress%20dashboard.,Save%20the%20changes. In general this is not related with Filter Everything plugin.
4. Of course you can change any CSS styles but on your own risk but if you will have problems with plugin behavior these problems can not be supported by me. So I recommed to do it carefully.

Hello, the SEO rules are valid when you choose to filter all. But when I only select 2 or 3 of them, instead of filtering all of them, the rules do not take effect. Does this mean I have to set SEO rules for individual pages resulting from any permutation of the 5 filters?

Yes, exactly. If you need to SEO Rule works for 2 or 3 selected filters combination you have to create appropriate individual rules for 2 and for 3 selected filters.
