I have a setup, where the sharing bar is at the bottom. Now we also wanted to started ad networks.
Many of these networks place permanent ads at the bottom. Is there a way to place the social bar automatically above them?

You don’t have an option in the settings to change the bottom location. From the settings, you can just choose top or bottom appearance. Using the .essb-mobile-sharebottom selector you can adjust the appearance with a tiny CSS modification. No, the plugin does not feature a social locker and we don’t plan to add this function in the feature (social networks does not allow that anymore).
In the past, we have a separate plugin providing this function. But it was discontinued due to changes in the social APIs that prevent its work (limiting the work of the locking function by removing endpoints from the API that allows checking the share is fully completed).

The Line is present as a share button in the plugin https://take.ms/E8J7Y. WeChat is not existing. The reason is that WeChat does not have a share command that can be used from a website (or at least no one was able to provide us with such).
The plugin has the function to add share networks directly from the plugin https://socialsharingplugin.com/guides/how-to-add-a-custom-button-in-the-share-network-list/. If you have a link with working share to WeChat button (a static share command – no external libraries) it can be added easily using the settings.

Oh, yes this is possible. You have a total button block or you can show it as a text like in our demo https://socialsharingplugin.com/social-followers/. The total value of followers will sum all networks you have and show a sum. And you have a shortcode that can show just the total followers’ value in case you need it.

Note that if you don’t have a valid application based token your counter won’t update. In the article, you will also find how to test the response from Facebook API for your website.

Instagram is available as a network in the Social Profiles and Social Followers Counter. You can find it in both modules. Instagram is not available in the share networks because the Instagram API does not allow sharing from websites. If that becomes possible we will add it to the plugin immediately.

A quick question: when sharing an entry on twitter, the word “via” is generated in the automatic message and is used at the end to indicate “via @user”. How can I translate it or change it to another?
In “Global Network Options / Twitter” I can’t find the Customize option “Share via” text and neither in “Advanced / Translate”.
I’ve searched your documentation and I can’t find it. I have version 8.4

The “via” text is generated automatically by Twitter and you can’t change it with the plugin. As a service Twitter parameter probably this may be automatically translated within the Twitter account language.
Technically it is possible to use the plugin filters to inject the username with a custom text directly in the Tweet. This change will drop the Twitter suggestion to follow the mentioned account.

Hi there! I found several comments regarding GDPR but I really want to go sure your plugin is compliant with the rules. In Germany there is the so called “Shariff” method which is a gdpr compliant method of sharing content via a social media button on Social Media. They say it’s one of the only solutions to share content gdpr compliant on Social Media. Unfortunately I couldn’t find many pages in english language. The buttons that are generated by the plugin are GDPR compatible. They are privacy safe and do not collect or share any information with social networks. Even the plugin analytics functions are privacy safe and can be used with GDPR as they don’t collect any user information.
The “Shariff” method you are talking about refers to the native social network buttons. Our plugin does not use those buttons and does not need a method like this. Our buttons are privacy safe out of the box. They are built by us with code just to be privacy safe, fast, and design rich.

As you can see above there are fields to translate plugin components in your language. Using those fields you can set up manually the texts. The translate menu offers all the texts you need. Very few texts are located in the share counter settings (related to words shares).
