Hi

I interest to buy this plugins. But before I buy this plugins, I have a question. Can Editor Role create new table and chart using this plugins or only administrator can access the plugins?

Thanks.

Hello there.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Only Administrators of the website have access to wpDataTables’ back-end. Even though you may be able to edit other roles to gain access to wpDataTables’ features, it is not recommended, as they would also gain access to other segments of your site.

Kind regards.

Hello I ve to make tables with filters connected to a mongodb base. Will your add on works? If yes how? The idea is to make tables of statistic with filters : sports, country, league, year … Thanks

Hello there.

We sincerely apologize for the late response!

wpDataTables can connect to separate DB connections for MySQL, MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases.

At the moment, there’s no integration for MongoDB or any other NoSQL databases, but please feel free to add it as a feature suggestion on this page.

Kind regards, and once again sorry for the late response.

Thanks for your answer. DO you make specific developpements? HOw much will it cost to make your add on works with a mongodb base?

Hello again.

As you can see, our responses are delayed due to the amount of support requests that we receive, but it also affects our developers.

At this time, we do not provide customization services, so we cannot provide you with a quote for this. You can add a suggestion on our “Feature Suggestion” page, if you haven’t already. Those are reviewed by wpDataTables’ lead developer, and he prioritizes them.

The development team confirmed that more database support will be coming in the future, but we can’t give you an ETA on that.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

Awesome plugin, thank you! We get this error: Request URL: .../wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=get_wdtable&table_id=1 Request Method: POST Status Code: 403 Remote Address: ... Referrer Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-origin

The tables are not loading in backend or front end. How can we fix this?

Kind regards

Hello there.

We sincerely apologize for the late response!

The 403 error tells you that the server recognized your request, but is deliberately not fulfilling it. This is mostly happening due to some security measures on your server.

Please reach out to your hosting provider, and ask them to check out the error and possible security measures they have included on the site.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Is it because of HTST? We use Sucuri WAF and full HTST. How is your plugin not working with this? All others are working, only your system can not fetch the data.

When i disable referrer policy, the error is this: Uncaught Error: DataTables warning: table id=table_1 – Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/7

Please let me know.

Best regards.

Hello again.

Security plugins tend to block calls that include wp-admin/admin-ajax.php in the call. You should be able to white-list these calls through the security plugin, but if you’re not sure how to do this, you can reach out to the developers of that plugin, and they should be able to help you out.

Kind regards.

One of the best plugins on CC. Would be great if you add an option to add a new column called “View” (as optional) and for every row an “eye icon” option, and when we click here we could see the row information in two columns (column name and value) with Print option. I think this feature would be amazing, I hope you can implement in a near future.

Hello there.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Something like this has already been implemented (without the Print option) through the Master-Detail add-on.

Please check it out.

Kind regards.

Hi, if it works with WooCommerce, would be so much great so that it can be possible to present WooCommerce data into the table. Can you tell me when this integration will be available?

Hello there.

Thank you for your interest in wpDataTables.

Our developers do have WooCommerce integration planned for the future, but at this point we cannot provide you with an ETA. We hope that it will be developed in a few months, but we can’t say for sure.

Until then, you can still create tables from WooCommerce’s database tables if you construct custom queries, or if you use our query constructors:

WP Database query constructor

MySQL Database query constructor

If you need some assistance with this, please feel free to open a pre-purchase ticket on our official support platform, and our support agents will gladly assist you there.

Kind regards.

I’ve read some documentation and check your demo.

- I don’t have knowleage constructing custom queries at all. It would be so difficult for me to do that in your editor.

- Using your query constructors, does it show many properties or meta data of WooCommerce? If not, how can I add it to the property?

Hello again.

Unfortunately, the included support for the plugin doesn’t cover writing custom queries or custom code, so we would not be able to help you with that.

The query constructor can attempt to pull all the data you select in it, including metadata, posts, taxonomies, and so on, but you would need to know what exactly you’re selecting in order for it to display correct data.

Also, please note that the query constructor is not an ultimate query builder, so often the queries that it constructed need to be revised, which can’t be done without at least basic knowledge of MySQL.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards.

Feature request:

For a table with many columns to show on mobile devices: If the content of the table is too large (like 6-7 columns) for the mobile display in portrait mode a info should be shown to rotate the phone to landscape mode to show more of the table itself.

Is this possible?

Hello there.

At the moment, what we have is the Responsiveness feature, where you can select columns that would collapse on mobiles and tablets.

If you already tested this, and it doesn’t fulful your needs, please feel free to add it as a feature suggestion on this page.

Kind regards.

When will you build out support for woocommerce. This is a fundamental need for many of us so that we can create pages based on client orders based on the custom logic in wpdatatables.

Hi, great plugin and lots of features. I’ve finally got to use it.

However, there seem to be some issues as well. I.e. I’m following the documentation to import data from URL (JSON file), but the plugin doesn’t seem to recognise the file. Probably because the URL doesn’t end with the file extension .json. The URL is example.com/file/ or example.com/file/?limit=0, and it shows the error “Please provide a valid 2-dimensional array.”

Not sure if that’s my lack of knowledge or something that could be improved.

Thanks.

Hello there.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Can you please open a ticket on our official support platform, where you can share the file’s URL with us, and our support managers will gladly take a look?

If your support expired (Envato licenses are limited to 6 months of support), you can open a pre-purchase ticket, as it doesn’t require a purchase code.

Kind regards.

How does the the plugin query the wp database?

Through wp_query?

We use Elasticpress which redirects all wp_query to our elasticsearch index where we add a parameter into the query via a hook

https://wordpress.org/plugins/elasticpress/

Example of how we integrate elasticpress with toolset

https://gist.github.com/ArnoutPullen/0343198043fcc3858a64964ed8ef5bdf

Alternatively, could we query the elasticsearch index directly from your plugin?

Hello there.

We are using this: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/classes/wpdb/

We’re not familiar with that plugin, so we can’t say for sure if it would work or not. Can you please open a pre-purchase ticket on our official support platform, and our support managers will gladly assist you further?

Hi, after upgrading the plugins to the latest version. The sort & filtering has stopped working in the frontend… however, they are still working in the backend. Any idea what is causing this?

Hello there.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

It could be that you have some cache that needs to be cleared. Please deactivate the plugin, purge all cache, activate the plugin, purge cache again, and test it. If it’s still behaving the same, it’s most likely a conflict with some other plugin or the theme you’re using, since wpDataTables is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) concept-based plugin. This means that the table should look the same both in the back-end and in the front-end. If your front-end table looks and behaves differently than in the back-end, this usually implies that there is another plugin (or the current theme) that’s changing the behavior of our plugin.

If you can’t resolve the issue, please feel free to open a new pre-purchase ticket on our official support platform, and our support managers will gladly help you there.

Kind regards.

Hi, i need to create a dashboard on frontend with datatables of users, orders, post for editing. But is it also possible to let the user add custom column on the fly ? I mean for example adding a column with a user meta custom field. Thanks

If you’re using MySQL query-based tables, yes. All you would need to do is modify the query that’s used to generate the table, and pull the new column from the database.

Creating a new column through the query is not possible.

Kind regards.

i used the standard Wordpress query

You will need to modify that query if you want to include more columns from the database.

Please note: this tool is not an ultimate query generator. It simply constructs a suggestion of a query. We are constantly working to improve it, but SQL is such a complicated and flexible language that full automation for constructing queries is next to impossible. Consequently, the more complicated the query, the higher is the probability that it will not return exactly what you need. So, you will often need to play around with the resulting query.

Please be advised that preparing MySQL queries for you is not included in the plugin support.

Why is it $299 here, but on https://wpdatatables.com/pricing/ it’s only $59???

Hello there.

We’ve moved away from the Envato marketplace almost 2 years ago, and instead of removing our account from this marketplace completely, we increased the price.

You can still purchase the plugin per the old price on our website.

I have pre-sale question, I need the solution where multiple row group and merge can work side by side for a MySQL query table. I need to show the week # and then all the data and in each data just three rows with + or – sign to expand or collapse functionality. Is it possible to have this kind of view where one can apply row grouping on multiple columns?

Hello there.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

The row grouping feature only works for tables with server-side processing disabled. You can use it in MySQL query based tables that have less than 2.000 rows if you disable the “server-side processing”, but if you do that, you will not be able to edit that table anymore.

You can use the responsiveness feature and include the + / – signs to expand hidden columns. To use this feature on desktops, you will need to increase the tablet’s width in wpDataTables’ settings. Please check out the video on our documentation, linked above.

Kind regards.

I want to parse a shortcode in a field content but the value that is returned by the shortcode is an integer. But i’m forced to set the datatype as String to parse the shortcode. But if i use string as datatype of the field then i can’t use the value for calculation or showing in chart. Please advice me what to do in this scenario?

Hello there.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to do this. The shortcodes can only be passed to “string” type columns, as numerical (float and integer) columns don’t recognize any other character other than numbers.

Kind regards.

I was reading the features on your website. It states that you can have users view, edit, and add only to their data. I also read in the comments that you can set a field to be an image field. If a user is on their smartphone or tablet and they want to add an image, can it invoke the devices camera. So that they can take a live image to be added to the image field?

Hello there.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

Users can see and edit only their own data if they are logged into WordPress.

Images can be added through image columns, but it can’t start the camera, only the image upload.

Kind regards.

Hello,

Plugin seems interesting for my potential needs, but a question, is it possible to create charts from mutliple tables (with the same type of values) interested in displaying line charts with each line representing data from a different table.

thanks George

Also I am interested in including data for a long period – for charts – like 5-8 years – but I would like the initial chart displayed to contain only data from the last year, while having the option to change this to view different periods or the whole time period available. Again, is this something that is doable with wpdatatables ?

Most of my client requests pertain to PDF/Excel functionality… Example have a table that has numeric columns and i use your Calculate Column Total below the column… BUT when they download a PDF or Excel Sheet the column values don’t show … this a huge issue I am trying to overcome

Hi there,

Yes this functionality is based on third party library and those functionality can not be display. You can read more about this on this link in our docs https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/table-features/table-tools/

As alternative you can try our Report builder add on where you can create own DOCX or Excel templates(PDF is not supported at the moment) and also use total values. More info on this link https://wpreportbuilder.com/

You can try it on our Back-end Demo on link below.
