Hi, I love your plugin. So much so that I have Cache Wamer and now I have Automatic WBEp & Image compression, which I love too! A question, when I leave activated the option to compress future image uploads, every time an upload file of photos, it generates a cookie.txt file in the root of my site. The file has references to Nestcape. My Wordfence accuses as modified file. Is he safe? what is his purpose? Congratulations two for the excellent plugins. I made sure that this cookie.txt is generated by your plugin, as I had ftp open and I tested it. The file is only generated if the option “convert future files” is enabled.
Hello, that file is used a cookie jar and generated by the plugin, there is no reason to be in alert, that just generates to store the temporary cookies or curl whe it is used.

It will automatically compress future images, but cron jobs may not be optimal for the initial images, even if i understand the download side of many images because you have to wait long, but we found that is it easier for most users.
Is your plugin capable of optimizing many images? I have a site that has more than 100,000 images will it be able to do this? Even if it takes a long time or if I do it from time to time.

I have a website with 3,000 images and the Automatic WebP creation has been able to convert most of them, but it’s having trouble finishing the thumbnail images.
How do I get the plugin to finish up all the remaining thumbnail-sized images?
I am having trouble with getting the plugin to finish creating the WebP versions in the thumbnail sizes, which are showing “88% finished” for hours at a time, with no change.
I restart the browser and re-start the WebP creation process from the Wordpress backend, but it doesn’t seem to actually get the progress to move beyond 88% for the thumbnail images.

Hello, you can select the quality you want, there is a small quality loss, but selecting a quality 90% and above should be enough not to notice any difference between the images. you have a test tab where you can select the quality you want.

the only part of the module that handles front end is the lazy load functionality and the part where you have use picture wrapper, please disable each of this functionalities one by one and see if it works as one of them may not be compatible with your theme.

It does not resize the images in terms of pixels or in size (kb)
like if we upload image in any dimensions it resize in square in woocommerce.is it possible in this?eg uploading 510px X 400px (WXH) but it regenerates into 400px X 400px , is it possible?
no, by your description you should create a new image size and it should solve your issue

I’ve purchased two licences fto test on two clients with higher image content. One is a 50 page website and one 500 pages. Seems to work fine but you’ll need lots of patience.
Re 500 page site: I suspect I’ll need over a week of open WP plugin page connection time. I’ve done 11% of the image compression in 24 hours. WebP took around 5 hours
Since the compression is done externally (ReSmush) I guess speed depends on 3rd parties speed!

Compression is done with resmush and WebP with our internal API. A 50 page website and a 500 page website are not very big, an image is compressed/converted in about 200-300ms, depending how many image sizes you have it can take longer, for example, if you have 10 image sizes per image, it will likely take 2-3 seconds foreach image,an exception could be if your images are very big.

Smaller images improve our ranking? We are very surprised that you know this. You should bring that into your work! Your compression does not change anything at all. We have been doing SEO for years and we think we know what we are doing. What we definitely do is simply tick off your plugin.

- if it does not compress, try lowering the image quality you select when compressing, be sure to use the test tool before you do.
- Please keep in mind any compression service, including resmush.it, cannot compress images if the images were already compressed, be it by another plugin be it before upload to the platform as it cannot go below the selected quality.
If that is the case, use the webp conversion to use image compression + webp for optimal results.

A total of 8 years we have had the experience that in the early days Envato was a mecca for good themes and plugins.Meanwhile, many developers (LIKE YOU ???) just want to cash in. The webp conversion is done via api on our servers so the fact that you have a strong server does not matter, most likely you have corrupt images or something similar than can interrupt the process.
