presale q: I need a production management system for my small factory, currently using excel sheets but it is not enough. I was wondering if I can use this plugin together with gravity forms OR jetengine OR acf pro AND zappier.

requirements:
  • input data from the front end and lock rows after a certain time has passed so my accountant cannot change the values.
  • input/calculate how much material is being used during each stage of the manufacturing process, so I can trace pilferage.
  • record material in/out of the factory and the shop and calculate/highlight cells and send a notification when conditions are not met

Hello there

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

Unfortunately, wpDataTables cannot lock anything after a time period. You can choose whether the table will be editable or not, but that’s pretty much it.

Depending on how the values are stored you can calculate SUM, AVG, MIN and MAX using our calculation functions, or you can use integer and float column data to create formula columns.

We do have an integration add-on for Gravity Forms – Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables, but it has some limitations, so please take a look at the documentation.

You can test the plugin on our sandbox site, and see if the plugin will suit your needs.

Kind regards.

I purchased your plugin but each time i try activating it fails. I used the code to send support message on your website and it says code expired. Can you explain that?

Hi there.

All purchases made through Envato marketplace have limited support of 6 months, that’s why your code is considered as expired on our support platform. The license itself, however, is lifetime.

Since you bought the plugin through Envato marketplace, you don’t actually need the purchase code to activate the license. The “Purchase Code” field is reserved for purchases made through our website, and needs to stay blank when you’re activating with Envato.

So, all you need to do is click on “ACTIVATE WITH ENVATO”, and the plugin will take you to the Envato log-in page, where (upon logging-in) the license will be activated.

Because Envato’s API is limited to linking 3 requests per second you will probably need to click on “Activate with Envato” a few times until the license is activated, but once it is activated, it will stay active and you will be able to update the plugin through the Plugins page.

Can you please try now, and let me know if it works? Just remember that you probably will need to click on “Activate with Envato” a few times before it actually activates the license.

It can take up to 25 attempts before the license is active, so please have patience.

Kind regards.

can you comment if your charts can self update if they are linked to SQL tables and when those tables ARE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE?

Plugin fails to recognize Purchase code and update. This is a constant issue that hasn’t been fixed for years now. Will we ever get a fix?

It worked for all who tried this up until now, and it’s Envato’s API we use. Of course we will forward your complaint to our development team, so they can look into it.

We would be able to try this in your stead, if you’re willing to open a pre-purchase ticket on our official support platform https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/, leaving us a temporary wp-admin user credentials, and the credentials for your Envato account.

We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.

Kind regards.

Its been 3 years and you’ve been unable to provide a proper fix and only template responses.

The service is mediocre at best.

Sorry to hear you’re not satisfied.

We launched our online store about a year an a half ago, so Envato API was introduced then, not 3 years ago. Until then all you needed to do was enter the Envato purchase code. The issue started happening when we introduced the API.

Our developers are working on all customers’ complaints, trying to resolve the issue for everyone. For that to work, we need to debug the plugin on the client’s website.

Kind regards.

hi – the tables are auto refreshed – what about the charts which are linked to these SQL- queries – these will also be updated in real time??? as the data in tables changes or they need to be reloaded with the page?

does the table which feeds the data into the chart need to be updating and present on the same page? can the chart update on its own – without the need for the sql linked table to be on the same page?

Hello there.

We can see that you’ve opened a ticket on our official support platform, and one of our developers already responded to your inquiry.

For other people that may stumble upon this question:

If you enable “Follow table filtering” when creating the chart, then the charts will be refreshed also.

You can test this on our sandbox site.

Kind regards.

Is it possible to replace an existing table, instead of always creating a new one? I want to buy, but for that I need to have this information. The tables have an ID: [wpdatatable id = 1], for example, I would need to keep that ID and replace this table with another one when necessary.

Hello there.

Sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately something like this is not possible. You can only delete rows one by one, or manually edit them, but you cannot delete the table, and keep the shortcode.

Kind regards.

Hi! I’d like to create a data table linked to an existing data source. And with that data table I’ll create certain charts. But those data is updating every month. Should I customize or recreate charts or are there automatically update? Thanks

Hello there.

When you’re creating tables from existing data sources – Google Spreadsheet, XML, PHP and JSON data sources will be updated automatically when there is a change in the file. If you’re going to use Excel or CSV, the plugin stores a copy of the source file in ../wp-content/uploads/YEAR/MONTH/ folder, and the file that needs to be updated should be that file.

When you create a chart, it will always use the wpDataTable as a source, so when the table is changed, the chart will also change.

Kind regards.

hi i purchased the plugin previously on my backend it is showing both upper case and lower cases for my table headers, however for the front end it is showing in all caps, could you please advice how i can get it solved please. This is my website https://mdx.com.sg/

Hello there.

As far as we can see, this table (for example) has both: https://ibb.co/5R4sTf8

Has the issue been resolved in the meantime?

wpDataTables is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) concept based plugin. This means that the table should look the same both in back-end and in front-end. If your front-end table looks and behaves differently than in back-end, this usually implies that there is another plugin (or the current theme) that’s changing the behavior of our plugin.

Kind regards.

Waiting over 2 years for feature that can allow anyone too see 1 table and edit their own info. You said you have it on list to do but still nothing :(

Hello there.

Unfortunately, at the moment, with Users see and edit only own data feature, users can only see their own data in the table.

There’s a workaround to allow users to see data based on their user role, so that would allow them to see all data entered by that specific user role, while still being able to edit only their own data.

If you’re interested in this workaround, please open a pre-purchase ticket on our official support platform https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/, and one of our support managers will gladly help. Make sure to reference this comment, so we know it’s you.

Kind regards.

i saw many clients in your support forum are asking you to provide a solution to automatically update a CSV linked table at set intervals – we also need this functionality before purchase – is there a workaround? if yes can you demonstrate this? this is key function for us

Hi there.

Sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately no. At the moment, you cannot update a table linked to a CSV file in any other way other than replacing the source file in ../wp-content/uploads/YEAR/MONTH/ folder, but you also need to keep the structure, as adding, deleting, renaming or rearranging columns will cause the table to break.

Kind regards.

Is it possible to include an ‘action’ button in each row of data that is a clickable link to another webpage?

Your reply

You can form the HTML for the button in the input source (e.g. query, or array), so it would be displayed in the page

But where is this option to put button instead URL?

Both the Lite version and the full version of the plugin don’t require anything specific. How many rows do you have in that table?

Since you’re limited to using only tables created from existing data sources, having over 2.000 rows will slow down the table, and as it gets bigger, it will be slower until eventually it breaks. That’s impacted by your server performance and hosting plan, though.

Kind regards.

1. I have 1700 rows and it hangs when i try to save it and In the shared Hosting, will it work with 1000 rows at latest?

2. Is it possible to put TABs and each different TAB can have different sheet? if yes, please let me know or show us the doc.

3.Is it possible to put HTML code and it will show Image in the out put?if yes, please let me know or show us the doc.

Hello there.

1. Shared hosting can cause a lot of issues here, since it is quite limited in terms of memory and server performance. Tables linked to existing data sources get slower as the table grows, and it’s only a matter of time when they will break completely. Our advice would be to limit the amount of rows in these tables, but what the exact limit is, is not something that’s universal – it depends on your hosting plan and server.

2. No, one wpDataTable can only pull one tab from an Excel file, and wpDataTables cannot have tabs.

3. You can use HTML here.

Kind regards.

hi does our plugin allow to make a table from csv file which wil auto refresh when csv file changes?

Hi there,

When you create the table that is connected to the CSV file, and when you update that CSV on every page load it will be loaded new data. If you need that table be automatically updated when users are on the page where is table, that is not possible with this type of table. Only way to have auto refresh is to import this CSV file with forth option in table wizard and then it will be created manual table in database and you will have option auto refresh where the table will be refreshed on set time no matter is page loaded or not, but with this option you will not be connected with that CSV file any more because data is saved in new table in database.

thank you – but what If we want to update this table each day – how can we update a manually created table? by hand or by importing the update csv tabel into the manu table?

Hi again.

If you were to create a manual table, you would need to update it manually. The only way you would be able to bulk-update that table would be through the database, by locating the manually created wpdatatable, and then import the CSV file containing only new data, without headers in it.

Kind regards.

Can’t insert the new table type, an error when saving the page. Warning: json_decode() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in …wpdatatables\source\class.wpdatatablerows.php on line 326

Hi there, Yes this error can happen if you are using some caching plugin, and new files are not loaded or old files are not updated with new code. My suggestion is to clear all your server and browser cache and then create new simple table and it will work fine. That old table will not work after this because the data is not saved properly in the database when you create it.

I just want to comment that WpDataTables doesn’t work with WP Lightbox 2 plugin, when upgrading to Wordpress 5.5. The combination hides not the table itself, but all rows and columns. Hope this helps someone.

Hi there, Thank you for reporting this. It is forward to our development team to investigate. If there is some issue we will try to fix it as soon as possible.

I’ve changed language from English to Arabic, however, table content still appears from left to right. How to make it RTL? anything in the documentation that can help?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, we don’t have native RTL support. You would need to modify the table manually, and change the orientation through custom CSS.

Hi. I want to show data series one at a time. Is it possible?

Did you check?

We saw the link, thank you, but we still don’t understand what you’re trying to do here?

Hi, Can you search the table using meta data rather than the actual data in the table cells. Thanks

Hello there.

Thank you for your interest in the plugin.

Unfortunately, no. You can create a new table, containing metadata, and then search through it, but the data needs to exist in the table in order for you to search for it.
