new version totally broke my site. trying to reinstall. still broken. not happy

The new version doesn’t have any problem, unless it wasn’t properly updated or installed.
When trying to install it again, make sure to delete your old database first.
Let me know what did you exactly do and what did not work. I’ve tested, yet again, both the update and the fresh installation and they work great.
Where is ban user option? I have upgraded to 4.8.1 but don’t see such thing anywhere in admin panel

If we disable a user then his content data still will be in server or get delete? Blacklist email account?
Yes, everything will still be there.
Is there any way to auto deleting inactive accounts? Any user who did not logged in for 6-12 months get a warning email and later his account and content got deleted automatically.
Not possible right now, no. This is something that you could manually do once in a while if needed, via the phpmyadmin by editing the users table and deleting based on the last_active date.
It will be risky to touch database when you have large number of users. I asked because I saw that on Linktree.

Hello, I’ve deployed the latest version, and I have the following problem:
When a user creates a bio link, he starts by completing the information (title, description, background type, etc).
Instinctively, to create the first link, the user goes to ”+ Create” button to add the first link, in order to start creating links. At that time, most of the users don’t even see the “Update” button at the bottom of the page.
The issue is that, after completing all the settings if you don’t “UPDATE” them and you go ahead and create a link, you’ll lose everything you configured once you create the first link.
You are not warned “You have to update or the changes will be lost”.
Most of my users are complaining about that, they customize the info and they lose everything. Is there any workaround for that?

For now, no, there is no workaround this unless you want to start modifying the product to your wishes.
I took this as a suggestion and I will see if I can do something about it in the future versions.

But this is a clear flow error, most of my users are losing the changes so they abandon the website. Can you fix it for me? at least just include a warning saying “click update before start adding links”. Otherwise it’s useless.
If you need to charge me for this is OK, but I can’t use the script with this error.

It is not an “error” and no, it is not “useless”. The product is clearly functioning and there is no error in this.
It has been this way for more than 1 year already and this is the first time I hear this being an “error” and “useless” because of this.
Again, I took note of what you said and will be treated accordingly as I am always trying to improve the software.
OK, but according to the tests I ran, I strongly need this fix. At least a warning. Instad of hiring a developer to study the source code, how much do you charge me to add this warning? (when there are unsaved changes in “settings”, warn or automatically update). Is it possible? Thanks.

I did Update 4.8.1, but it failed, even though I had followed the existing guidelines. fails here the admin display only shows 1 user. because I have backups so I don’t continue with the latest updates. what was my mistake in the update?

Normally, you should not change anything in the htaccess or any other file, no (if everything else is done right).
Rather than allow registration through email addresses, etc., could I enable login with FB and that would create accounts?
Also, for your-custom-alias does the program make them all lowercase so SuperMan and superman are not both valid?

what if I did not want that to happen? Case sensitive, in my case, is not preferred.
I, personally, would rather the backend be all lowercase so if someone types someone’s name at domain.com/FirstLast rather than domain.com/firstlast both work for the same user.
Could “case sensitive” your-custom-alias be a toggle on or off in the future?
This is something that you would personally need to edit in the product if you want to acheive this. I do not plan to have such a toggle on and off feature as it is definitely not a feature that is significant enough to be switchable for users.
Does this support Google Adsense?
Yes, you can add your adsense script to it and run ads. Keep in mind that first you’d have to get accepted for that by Google.

Where do I go to alter colors of the icons?
I had to edit. The comments would not display the greater than less than since it is code.
You edit the color inline for those cases, use the predefined bootstrap color classes or write your own css color classes and add them in there.

I’m just trying to customise the home page. I’m clearly blind because I can not for the life of me find how to change the text color in the top section and menu from white. I’ve removed the blob and now the text can’t be seen.
I’ve looked through the css files and can’t see it. I’m sure it’s right in front of my face lol.

Go to themes/altum/views/partials/menu.php and remove the following condition:

This should stop making it white when not needed if you removed the blob.
