I am a happy customer of your plugin in conjunction with the Justified Image Grid plugin.
I have one feature request. When using the option to display a gallery using the implementation with JIG.
It would be fantastic if I could just reorder the pictures using drag and drop in the media library (within the gallery data folder). That would be a really fantastic and quick way!

Hi there, I have been trying to find out if any of the great plugins here do the following: 1. allow organisation in tree folders (yours and other plugins do this really well) 2. add any options that I can access that tag or categorise the file to let me control on the front end which folder the file is kept in.
The second point is the one thing I cannot find out. Is it possible that the plugin can autocategorise the files at all?

I’m using also dFlip PDF FlipBook WordPress Plugin which requires 2 parameters: PDF name and JPG location.
After I started moving PDFs the booklets went missing, mentioned that the files were no longer there. I checked via FTP and files are there, but your plugins moves the virtual location of the file and breaks the link to PDF for dflip. Any solution?

Updated and no longer working! When I go to Media > Library I can look through the different folders. However, if I am updating a post; or creating a post. I cannot see all of my files saved under the media library. On the page edit mode; the library doesn’t search, or filter. The categories do not work.

Was ich finde: Der Media File Renamer ist so installiert und meiner Meinung nach aktiv
In den Einstellungen steht allerdings, dass kein Renamer aktiv sei. Deaktivieren und neu aktivieren brachte keine Veränderung.

Da ich die Webseite unter Zeitdruck erstelle habe ich den Speicherort der Bilder bis jetzt sträflich vernachlässigt. Morgen soll ich fertig werden mit den Arbeiten, so dass der Provider am Montag die Domain umstellen kann. Wenn ich jetzt nochmals genau nach den Bildern schaue, entdecke ich in manchen Ordnern tatsächlich Inhalt wie er sein soll, in manchen aber nicht und diese Dateien liegen einfach unter Uploads. Warum von einem Teil die URL angepasst wird und von einem anderen Teil nicht, und warum angeblich kein Renamer aktiv ist, obwohl er es ist. Ich verstehe das nicht …
Ich habe zwei Domains und eine Subdomain. Auf allen habe ich Wordpress installiert. (Ob ich alles richtig gemacht habe weiß ich nicht, da ich blutiger Wordpress-Anfänger bin.) Zumindest auf einer der Domains wird der Renamer als aktiviert erkannt. Dort habe ich auch Dateien innerhalb der Ordner (wie es sein soll), aber auch außerhalb – unsortiert – gefunden. Gesamt sind 1554 Medien online. Mir werden in den Einstellungen alle 1554 Medien zur Reinitialisierung angeboten: Reinitialize and add 1554 files to the queue Müssen die bereits richtig einsortierten auch reinitialisiert werden?
Mir wird auch empfohlen einen manuellen Test (to move one file manually) durchzuführen. Ich suche und suche, aber: Wo und wie kann ich eine Datei „manuell“ in einen Ordner verschieben, so dass nichts kaputt geht? Bei den Bilder selbst finde ich nur den Thumbnail-Regenerator.
Entschuldige bitte, dass ich mit solchen Fragen an Dich herantrete. Ich versuche seit Monaten alles selbst in den Griff zu bekommen. Mittlerweile habe ich keinen Nerv mehr weiter zu suchen. Tausend Dank für Deine Hilfe!!!

Hi Rut! Danke für Deine Antwort. Überhaupt kein Thema, Du darfst gerne hier nachfragen – Du hast ja schließlich mit dem Kauf des Plugins auch einen 6 monatigen Support inklusive.
Es scheint so, als hättest Du noch nie eine Datei mit “Real Physical Media” verschoben, weshalb noch einige Dateien “verstreut” sind. Folgendes schlage ich Dir vor: Aktiviere einen Rename Handler (aktuell nur Media File Renamer). Anschließend navigiere zu einer beliebigen Datei in der Medienbibliothek und im Dialog solltest Du eine Eigenschaft “Ordner” bzw. “Folder” finden. Unterhalb steht geschrieben, ob die Datei aktuell physikalisch synchron ist, oder eben nicht. Sollte es nicht so sein, kannst Du die Datei manuell zur Queue hinzufügen. Die Queue findest Du ebenfalls oben in der Queue. Sollte das Verschieben reibungslos geklappt haben, könnte man nun “Automatic queueing” aktivieren – welches Du überhalb des Rename Handlers findest (links neben “SEO”). Das heißt nun, solltest Du eine Datei in Real Media Library in einen visuellen Ordner schieben, wird auch die Datei zur Queue hinzugefügt und physikalisch verschoben. Du könntest auch alle Dateien in den Einstellungen zur Queue hinzufügen – dann werde diese verschoben (wenn notwendig). Beste Grüße, Matthias

Danke für deine Unterstützung. Ich musste zwar immer noch suchen und die Anleitung mehrfach lesen – aber letztlich konnte ich das unscheinbare kleine Icon entdecken. Ich konnte den Renamer aktivieren (ich dachte er wäre aktiviert, wenn er unter den Plugins aktiv sei) und habe nach einem Test alle Dateien physikalisch umbenennen können. Super! Tausend Dank.
Trotzdem hatte ich einige Probleme: Wenn ich in den Ordnern nachschaue, finde ich jetzt in allen entsprechende Dateien. Außerhalb allerdings auch noch. Und zwar nicht wenige. Gut. Solange alles funktioniert soll es mich heute nicht weiter stören. Ein andermal wieder.
Das Schlimmere: Meine ca. 100 Termine wurden nicht mehr gefunden und die Terminliste blieb leer. Allerdings nur auf der Domain. Die Subdomain hatte keine Probleme damit.
Die Termine sind im M.E.Calendar eingetragen und über einen Shortcode auf einer Terminseite angezeigt. Letztendlich konnte ich nach geraumer Zeit ausfindig machen, dass die Shortcodes zerschossen waren. Ich habe sie neu erstellt und jetzt läuft wieder alles. Gottlob hat es die anderen Shortcodes – soweit überblickbar – nicht tangiert. Da läuft alles noch.
Was die Termine betrifft habe ich bei der Fehlersuche festgestellt, dass alle automatisch einen Dateipfad in verschiedene Felder eingetragen bekommen haben. Z. B. im Preisfeld, unter den Links, im Kommentarfeld für die Zeit. Die überall dort eingetragene URL führt in einen über Real Media Categories angelegten Medienordner. (Es ist durchweg der gleiche Pfad eingetragen.) Seltsam.
Ich schreibe es Dir hier nur zur Info. Da ich ja zum Glück das Problem finden und lösen konnte ist es für mich nicht mehr wichtig. Die Termine verfallen mit der Zeit von selbst und werden gelöscht. Solange sie angezeigt werden ist für mich die Welt in Ordnung.
Bis wieder einmal – und wie schon erwähnt: Ohne deine Plugins wäre ich hoffnungslos verloren. Die Medien sortieren zu können ist grandios! Ich kann nicht genug Danke sagen dafür.

Hallo nochmal Rut! Super, dass es nun geklappt hat! Das mit den Terminen kann ich leider so nicht nachvollziehen, da Real Media Library nur visuell ist, Real Physical Media die Queue bereitstellt und letztendlich Media File Renamer die Dateien umbenennt (eventuell gab es hier ein Problem).
Zu den “anderen” vielen Dateien: Das könnten Dateien sein, welche sich nicht in deiner Medienbibiliothek befinden, sondern durch andere Plugins in das wp-content/uploads Verzeichnis geladen wurden. Diese lassen sich natürlich dann nicht durch Real Physical Media organisieren.

erst einmal DANKE für die Plugins, welche in WP eine Struktur der Medien und Seiten ermöglichen. Da wir sehr viele Medien hochgeladen haben ist für mich dieses Plugin existentiell. Ich habe mir daher die drei Pro-Versionen von WP Real Media Library, WP Real Physical Media, WP Real Categories Management gekauft und dazu noch WP Real Thumbnail Generator installiert. Dazu habe ich Media File Renamer (Auto Rename) installiert, allerdings ohne Pro-Version.
Jetzt habe ich das Problem, dass die Dateien in der Wordpress-Umgebung zwar in Ordner sortiert sind, auf dem Server aber unter wp-content – uploads gespeichert sind. Alle 3.000 Medien untereinander. Die angelegten Kategorien oder Ordner, in die sortiert werden sollte, sind leer.
Es herrscht genau jenes Chaos, das ich vermeiden wollte.
Meine Frage: Wie bekomme ich das in den Griff? Geht das nur, wenn ich auch die Pro-Version vom File-Renamer kaufe? (Das konnte ich mit meinem schlechten Englisch leider nicht in Erfahrung bringen.) Oder habe ich etwas falsch gemacht?

Hi, ich habe soeben das Plugin auf der Wordpress-Website installiert. Nachdem ich die ersten Ordner erfolgreich angelegt hatte und erste Dateien zugewiesen habe, aktualisierte ich die Seite. Danach waren ALLE Ordner und Dateien wieder weg. Scheinbar lassen sich die Ordner nicht speichern. Gibt es dafür eine Lösung?

I bought this plugin last week to organise my photos and display them in dynamic galleries from a folder in a custom order.
I’m using the Responsive Gallery Grid plugin which uses the standard WP gallery tag: https://responsive-gallery-grid.bdwm.be/ It works fine on normal galleries using the photo ID’s, but I can’t get it to work on galleries in which I use something like fid=”7” For some reason RGG stops working when using a gallery with a folder from Real Media Library. Is there a way to fix this?
A workaround I wanted to try to load the ID’s of a certain folder in the normal gallery tag instead of using the folder attribute. I have no idea how to do that though.
I guessed seeing as RML and RGG both use the standard gallery that they should play along nicely…
Great plugin otherwise, but I hope this is resolvable…

Just waiting for a response… Unfortunately I do not know a workaround for this. I think RGG is overwriting the “fid” field or is removing it completely (not explicit, so whitelist fields). Regards, Matthew

Hi Matthias, I believe your plugin stopped working with Imsanity. I drag – drop images into a folder, but they keep the original kb. Instead of 60 quality, they remain 100 quality. I posted this as well at them, not sure where the problem lies. Thanks!
SOLVED. Imsanity explained that one function isn’t triggered when the second function isn’t activated – something like that but it makes sense. Nothing wrong after all.

I have an image processing plugin for WP WooCommerce. It places images into a sub folder of the plugin where it processes them.
I am curious if there is a way for this plugin to map to that folder so if I upload images to library, your plugin can move the image files (not resized into many different resolutions for thumbs and such btw) to that plugin’s sub folder.
Hi again! What exact plugin are you using here? Real Media Library itself does not provide a way moving files around. The only possible solution is to use Real Physical Media (https://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-real-physical-media-physical-media-library-folders-seo-rewrites/23104206). It allows moving around files physically. Unfortuntately you need to do some further customizations (hook into the folder path generation and avoid thumbnail generation for that files).
