Hello! I’m using your plugin with Justified Grid Gallery, but I have only one problem. Do you know if I can add filters by folder? I know that’s possible with tags or categories, but I don’t want to add categories to every image and I want to keep a folder-style organisation for the galleries. Thanks!
Hi there! I were in contact with the developer of JIG about this feature a time ago but I do not know if he has already implemented this. Perhaps you can contact him directly? Best regards, Matthew
Hello Matthew, I contacted him as well, I’ll wait his answer then. Thanks!
Hello,
We are looking to switch from media library folders pro to your plugin. I was wondering if there were any known issues in switching or any procedures you know of we should take before or after switching. Due to medi library folders pro creating actual folders on the operating system we are worried about and do not want to loose any of our file url links.
Thanks, IT Department – PIT.edu
Hi there! Thanks for your message. Generelly you do not have to worry about already registered/uploaded files to WordPress – they even work if you deactivate all plugins.
The migration to Real Media Library is simple: Install RML and navigate to Settings > Media > Tab “Reset” and “Import categories”. Afterwards you can deactivate the other plugin. If you still want to benefit from physical organization you can checkout this add-on for Real Media Library: https://matthias-web.com/go/codecanyon/23104206
Best regards, Matthew
Hello,
I wanted to ask if the plugin works on PHP 7.3 or 7.2. While testing those versions on our site, your plugin supposedly caused a wordpress fatal error according to an email we received.
Thanks, Isaac.
Hi there! Yeah, the latest version 4.5.1 works with PHP 7.3. Best regards, Matthew
Ah, that would be the problem we are still on 3.x. Thank you very much!
Hi Matthew, it’s Vince I have same issue than c_janssen above. I have a multisite wordpress and have installed RML + RML Physical Folders + Media File Rename from meowapps.com but still have this error:
“You have currently not activated any rename handler. Please activate a rename handler in the admin toolbar”.
And does not move physically the images under designated folders. But All plugins are activated. Where you able to fix this on c_janssen multisite install?
Please help. Im stll evaluating how these 3 plugins work togheter before settng up a production site with thousands of images and can’t take the chance to have a problem later on.
Matt, Ive found out! Works fine now. This was tricky, hard to see the icon at the top of the admin tool bar. I recommend you add a screenshot to let users know. Thanks anyway. I confirm it moves files physically to folders. Awesome!
Nice to hear that it now works for you. I will adjust the documentation, thanks. Best regards, Matthew
Yep just a screenshot will be a great help.
Thanks Matthew

Does your plugin add a SQL function specifying the database user, like in the following example?
CREATE DEFINER=`user`@`127.0.0.1` FUNCTION `wp_fn_realmedialibrary_childs`(rootId INT, _useTempChildTableForCheck BOOLEAN) RETURNS varchar(1000) CHARSET latin1
If so, then this is incompatible with WP Engine’s backup system, as they use different database user accounts for backups and related processes. I will attempt to remove the DEFINER clause to see if that solves the issue.
Hi there! What version of the plugin are you using? I think this bug is fixed with latest version. Best regards, Matthew
Sorry for the late reply, seems I wasn’t notified by the system about your response. I’m using 4.5.1, which seems to be the latest version.
Hi again. Have you previously used an older version? Because then the function is generated through the old version. Regards, Matthew
That might be the case, presuming that the fix was recently implemented. However, I’ve tried removing the clause using PHPMyAdmin and it doesn’t seem to let me. Any suggestions?
Yeah, you can completely drop that function if you want because Real Media Library automatically recreates it when needed.
Surely a licence issue is not something I would have to pay for support just to get resolved??
When I try to enter my purchase code, the plugin says I have reached my limit, but as far as I know, I have used this only on my one site.
I have no way within your system to see where the licence is being used.
How can I resolve this?
Thanks
Hi there! Please send me an email with your purchase code to support@matthias-web.com and I will reset it on all your registered sites. Best regards, Matthew
Hi!
I have some questions regarding the plugin.
1. I noticed that when using the grid options, the image thumbnail varies. Is there a way to make all the thumbnails uniform to one size? For example, 500×500?
2. Using the gallery option, is there a way to add the image title below the image?
Thank you.
Hi there! This is WordPress standard behavior in grid options. Where do you want to place the image title? Can you please share a screenshot? Best regards, Matthew
Over here would be great: http://prntscr.com/onqa59
Thank you so much!
Hi again! Sorry for my delayed answer. Unfortunely this depends on the gallery plugin/theme your are using. Generelly Real Media Library uses the defaults theme gallery. If you want more customization you can for example check out Justified Image Grid https://justifiedgrid.com/sources/wp-real-media-library/ which works great with Real Media Library. Best regards, Matthew
Hi there! Can you please send me your purchase code to support@matthias-web.com and I can reset it only for all your sites, you have to reregister them. Best regards, Matthew
Hi Matthias, I have a question. Hope to receive an early reply.
I created a folder with name “Anh-ma-mau” and uploaded 24 images. Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/olz2wk
I have access to hosting, and cannot find it in any location. Can you tell me where this folder is located on the website? Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/olz3ti Thanks you!
Hi there! Thanks for your message. Real Media Library itself is visually but there is an add-on which allows you physical upload, too: https://wordpress.org/plugins/physical-custom-upload-folder/ Best regards, Matthew
[Pre-sale question] I use Custom Post Type (CPT UI) & Custom Field (ACF). I have the image field (Created by ACF). When I upload photos, can I choose to upload to the folder created with your plugin? Thanks you!
Hi! What do you mean exactly here? Best regards, Matthew
Hi Matthias, thanks for your reply. the “WordPress Multisite Shared Media” plugins allows you to:
- makes the uploaded media available across the network
- serves images from its own domain/path which is great for SEO
- Automatic background synchronization of media files between selected network sites
- Automatic cleanup of deleted media files across the network (opt-in feature)
- Synchronize all existing media from selected source site to selected target site
But it lacks in organizing and managing the images into folders…
I recommend you give it a try. It will be great if your plugin could work on top of it to managing pictures, folders,...
https://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-multisite-shared-media/19306250Hi again! Yeah, you are right it would be a cool feature but this is at the moment not possible. Can you please join my slack channel https://matthias-web.com/slack so we can discuss this functionality further. Perhaps there is an easy solution to implement for Real Media Library so only one tree is used. Best regards, Matthew
Hi, pre-sale question. I manage Wordpress multisite and need to share pictures across the network of sites. There’s this plugin which allows to share pictures across any site, but it doesn’t allow to organize and sort pictures into folders and sub folders.
Does you plugin has a way to share wordpress media files across a multisite?or will it work with the following plugin:
Is it compatible with https://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-multisite-shared-media/19306250
Thank you!
As well I would like to create from server /home/account/public_html/ aphysical folder with subfloder to share media across the network of sites and woocommerce stores, like this: will this work?
/home/account/public_html/images/
/images/en/
/products/
/brand
/images/es/
/products/
/brand
/images/fr/
/products/
/brand
Most wordpress multisite developer have thousands of images and can not duplicate them under each /siteX/ folder, it will be 1+ millions images. What is the best practice to work with your plugin on top of that? Thank you very much for your help.
Hi there! How should that sharing work? Currently in multisite each website gets its own RML tree. Are you a developer – if yes we can discuss that further in my slack channel https://matthias-web.com/slack? Perhaps you can checkout the API at https://matthias-web.com/wordpress/real-media-library/documentation/ and check if there is something for you. Best regards, Matthew
320.000 / 2 = 160.00 in each folder. on ftp open them just can not get the inscription Error: Connection is interrupted after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to get directory listing
Tell me whether this will affect the speed of the site. Is it possible to automate it somehow and is it necessary. I thought to find a solution for wordpress that would be automatically scattered on the product id card for example, but there are simply no solutions. There are only solutions for manually uploading photos by first creating a folder and then uploading a photo to it.
In general, while confused. Maybe you have some quick mass solution? I’m really looking forward to the opposite professional help, at least in words.
If I move the file to the new folders that I make in your plugin, will it make downloading easier? Pictures will remain in the folder where they are 160.000 or will they all be transferred to a new folder that I will do in your plugin?
Hi there! Unfortunely I do not know if mass images in a single folder will affect the speed of the site. I can give you some other plugin tips of mine which can perhaps resolve some issues:
Real Thumbnail Generator: https://matthias-web.com/go/codecanyon/18937507 It allows you to organize thumbnails in subfolders, see https://matthias-web.com/wp-content/uploads/envato/rtg/rtg-wp-content.gif for example
Real Physical Media https://matthias-web.com/go/codecanyon/23104206 It allows you to organize physical files in folders. So you can manually create your file structure on upload or movement.
Best regards,
Matthew
Hi there,
my uploads folder differs from /wp-content/uploads/2019/.. Mine is /wp-content/bilder/ Can I change the path where RML should do the work?
Best regards
Hi there! RML works great with custom uploads folder if you have configured that. Or what do you mean exactly? Best regards, Matthew
I want to make a copy of my database but PHPMyAdmin gives this error:CREATE DEFINER=`questforwisd`@`%` FUNCTION `xqfqx_fn_realmedialibrary_childs`(rootId INT, _useTempChildTableForCheck BOOLEAN) RETURNS varchar(1000) CHARSET latin1 SQL SECURITY INVOKER BEGIN DECLARE sTemp VARCHAR
MySQL said: Documentation #1064 – You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ’’ at line 4 How can I fix this?
Hi! You can skip that function in export. That bug is fixed with newest Version 4.5.1 for new installations. Best regards, Matthew
Okay, thanks
Hello Sir, we are currently developing our new site to test domain and the next days we will go live. Currently the licence that we have purchased is installed on a test domain safettest.cyon.site and our actual site will be at safeT.ch. Do we need to by another licence? When the name servers change will the current plugin work?
Thank you in advance
Hi there! No, you do not need to buy another license. One license can be used for two sites: The development site and the associated productive site. Best regards, Matthew
I purchased your plugin and used it on a test site. Now after a couple months I wanted to use it on the actual website I bought it for, but it isn’t working properly on either site now. On both sites it is telling me that it is already registered at a different site. I remeber registering it on the test site in April, but like I said it’s not working there. How can I unregister the plugin, if on both sites it’s telling me that it’s already registered? Is there an option to reset it? The purchase code is 507f97-e971-4e1e-9a4b-cd9540abe3fb – 4 Apr 2019
Thanks
Hi! Ich habe Deine Lizenz resetted, bitte probiere es erneut. Beste Grüße, Matthias
Dear Matthias,
I Have issue with Real Media Library or WP/LR Sync Folders. Thing is, WP/LR Sync plugin is uploading the image correctly, but then it not shows in right folder in WP. Create LR Collection creates WP folder. Changing the name of LR Collection changes the WP folder name. Only files are not assign to the folder. What can I do?
Hi there! Sorry for my delayed answer. Can you please send a demo login to your site to support@matthias-web.com so I can check that? Best regards, Matthew
