Pre-sale question: Is it possible to use the plugin as some sort of Media Credit assistant? Can we for example get it to show all images used (active) on the site and disregard all the images which are uploaded but not shown in the frontend?

Hi there! Unfortunely RML does not provide a feature to detect deprecated images. I do not know if such a plugin generelly exists, sorry. For metadata you can use the standard list view together with Real Media Library. Best regards, Matthew

Wenn Du Real Media Library deaktivierst, bleibt das Problem dann bestehen?
I really like this plugin, but updated to the latest version today from verion 2.2 and followed your instructions to deactivate and delete old version before installing the new, and yes the folders are still there but now I have more than 4000 photos unlinked to those folders – nightmare and hours and hours of work to put them all back – I am very annoyed – is there anyway of updating and not loosing the links?

I recently bought and used Real Media Library, which I loved. However, I think found an issue when I was using it in conjuction with the Elegant Themes, Divi Theme gallery module. When I set up a gallery of mixed landscape and portrait images Divi gallery would generate the thumbnails to all be landscape and it looked great. When I then published the page all the cropping of the thumbnails failed and the gallery looked a mess of uncropped landscape and portrait thumbnails. I uninstalled Real Media Library and the issue was no longer present. PHP 7.1. I am not sure if RML is the issue as I’ve not ‘stress tested’ it yet, and I am a web design amateur, but I thought you would like to know.

WP Real media library is an amazing plugin. Recently we updated to version 4.5.0. Everything is working fine. But we want to let u know about little bug in the backend.
Whenever we take backup of website, and try to restore database using phpmyadmin, we get the following error. For testing purpose we checked on the development as well as live website. It’s throwing error everywhere. But please note that still website is working fine, but we are not sure if this error can create any future problem. You may like to work on this before it creates big problems for others too.

Ok, ich denke nicht, dass dieses Problem vom Plugin kommt sondern von Daten des Bildes abhängig sind. Bspw. kann ein Bild ein Aufnahme-Datum enthalten, welches dann verwendet wird. Beste Grüße, Matthias

Hi there! Unfortunely the plugin itself does not have yet an importer from FTP files but you can use a plugin like “Media from FTP” or “Add from Server” and organize the files manually. Best regards, Matthew

Hello Matthias. I just bought a new WP Real Media Library license, I installed it. I created a directory structure and moved the files into them. Unfortunately in “Unclassified” it is mentioned that I have a picture but in reality there is nothing. Is it possible to do something for this?

Is there a way to migrate from WP Media Folder to Real Media Library that preserves the existing structure?
I know this question has come up a lot, but some newer answers seem to suggest it can, while older ones say no. Is this a feature that has been added, or am I misunderstanding the recent answers?
UPDATE: Disregard. I went ahead and bought a license to try on a smaller site and found that it does indeed import from WP Media Folder.
For anyone else trying to do this, the option is under Settings > Media > Real Media Library (section added at bottom of page) > Reset > Import taxonomy categories.
