My Spanish friend purchased ZoomPortal, which I installed for him on my server. He wants the site to work in Spanish. I tried to configure that, with the proper language code (es_ES) in the settings, but soemhow, the system does not seem to pick up the .mo file in /locales/es_ES. Then I also tried to change the default language in index.php to es_ES, but still I get everything in English. (Did a Control-F5 as well, to be extra sure, no Spanish).
I see in the code that everything is nicely coded with __() functions. My guess is that somewhere the path to the .mo file is wrong, that translation function does not work.
Can you help me out?

I did a full clean install in a new subdomain. After installation, the navigation menu shows 3 languages. English, German and Spanish. I can toggle what I want, on languages, but everything stays English.
The first demo site, provided with the installation, also has 3 languages available. But the language also does not change.
The version I used is the latest as available in codecanyon. Maybe the version in which it still worked is not the latest?
when clicking the spanish flash does the link update to es_ES ?

Hi Radu,
The link was fine, it had &lang=es_ES added (cookie was ok too). But, still everything in English. With the new version you made available.
First, I did a diff -ENwbur on your new package. It showed me that the only difference was a new .po (and probably .mo file). Then I looked in your code and all seemed fine. Strange…
But I got it solved. First by echo’ing variables in the bottom of the index page. What I found was that LC_ALL was not set. It returned a NULL value. (The $lang variable was not accepted as input). Then searching around, I found out that the setlocale() function depends on the system. (Mine is Ubuntu 18.04 with PHP 7.3, recently installed). What I had to do was the following:
sudo apt-get install language-pack-es
That installed the Spanish language packs. But then es_ES was installed automatically as es_ES.utf8. So, in the locale directory of your system, I did a cp -rp es_ES es_ES.utf8. Then in the configuration page of your system, for language code, I also changed es_ES to es_ES.utf8 (On Linux you can see all system locels by typing locale -a. I am sure on your system, Spanish is installed as a system locale es_ES. That is why it worked on your system, but not on mine.)
Et voila. Everything works in Spanish now. There are a few translations missing, like you said, and some that could be better, but I can get that sorted now. I have some nice toolkits for that.
I do wonder however, how wordpress handles the translations. I have several WP sites running that do not need the installation of all these system locales. Something for me to find out later.
First I will make my Spanish friend happy! It works!

Hello @murohuso allow me to help as Radu hasn’t been able to reply any comments for more than one month now, this seems quite unusual of him so nobody knows what’s happening.
Your suggestion number
1. The script has about 3 different themes which you can choose and also customize them with the page builder as per your wish, so if the default theme doesn’t seem modern enough for you you can tweak the appearance from the page builder and admin settings page!
2. You can display popular songs in a chart table, either by most played, most liked or even most downloaded, and you can also set the interval to daily, weekly or yearly.
3. Comment and like can be restricted to only logged in users as you wish from the admin settings!
I only hope this helps but in case it doesn’t, you can wait for his own reply later!

Hello and happy new year my boss; Radu, I hope all is well? Thanks for the latest update, it worked great, I’ve been a little busy lately and could not send this message earlier but thanks for everything so far, I really appreciate.
We still have some few issues to address and my support ends in a couple of months however I will try to renew it ASAP so we fix the remaining issues.
New errors detected:
1. Password reset doesn’t seem to work, after clicking on the reset link in your email you see this: code does not match any email.
2. I think you should look critically into the code of the query element because it seem like the “This year” interval feature is not actually functioning, though “Today” and “this week” are effective, this is because I added the element to show most liked in a current year and the last like the most liked track got was almost over 6 months ago and we are in a new year but the records do not seem to change at all even after new tracks got new likes this year, can you please make it possible so that once the year changes the data for the “This year” interval for the query element will reset? I think this will be helpful as my system depends on it to reward user’s of the most liked songs withing that year, it’s very important for me thanks.
3. Is it possible to optimize the timeline to show year(s) after 12 months? If possible how soon can you do that for us because I think it will help!
4. When you share a playlist using the facebook share button, instead of sharing the playlist page like for example: http://www.yourdomain.com/user/playlists/1 it will rather share the page from which you clicked on the share button of the playlist like http://www.yourdomain.com/explore, kindly look into this for us.
5. Last but not the least, please can we have the “og:image” attribute for the homepage which will display the site’s logo?
Will be happy if you can fix these issues for us ASAP, thanks for your awesome support, I hope I’m still one of your best customers? Lol!

Hello Mr. Radu, I just ran the update however, issue 6 has not been resolved at all, the issue seem to be coming from the algorithm that sets the expiry date for the pro package that the user has purchased, I’m saying this because the pro packages purchased using the old version doesn’t seem to be affected when you visit the admin.php page but the new pro packages purchased using the latest version of Zoomportal are the ones that expire instantly on accessing the admin.php page, please kindly spare us some time to fix this,

Hello boss, okay I just tried testing the system with various accounts concerning issue number 6! and I must say it’s far more complicated than my mind can understand, only you will know why.
Now let me break the issue down so you can understand what is happening:
I have and old account on the platform with the username Powerstone which I use to subscribe every time that I run an update, now I do not know if it’s because I subscribed many times in a day or in a month while the previous subscriptions have not expired but currently it just seem like zoomportal is confused about the subscription for that particular account, when I check the account status from users in admin and the checkbox for proaccount is checked, then that account will not have any pro capabilities, if I just click on the save button, then it will now change to user regrdless of the options you chose, then after that the pro capabilities will be active for the account, now this is happening to only one account, I just spend the whole day trying to figure it out but all to no avail, so maybe you can best understand what’s going on.
Again concerning issue 6! Now pro subscriptions work fine except that even though pro users have the capability to upload albums, new subscribers cannot,
they still see this even though album upload is enabled for pro users in user roles!
And when I check the user’s profile from the admin page, this is what i see!
however, this is not what i see with the account Powerstone which is unstable with the subscription as I mentioned above, for powerstone, when proaccount checkbox is ticked it automatically changes the user role to pro account.
However I don’t want to change any settings in the user’s profile since I don’t know the outcome! It might just start to behave like that of the Powerstone account, and please I could’t check but if you haven’t added a feature that prevents pro users from mistakenly subscribing again while their package hasn’t expired, than please kindly do so!
Okay now concerning issue number 2!, you requested for more data, now the query element in the page builder is what I’m referring to!
When you add this element ant try to set an interval for the query to display, all the intervals on the dropdown menu are working perfectly, EXCEPT the “This year” interval.
This interval was used on my platform to show most liked in a year and as I write to you now, we’re in 2019 but it is still showing records from 2018, there have been a lot of liked tracks this year and the previous tracks on the record bein displayed by query have not gotten a like this year but it is still displaying them, pleas try to make it so that when we enter a new year, it shows only the records for that year in the query as you did for “24 hours” and “This week”, i hope you now understand what I was trying explain earlier? please try to fix it for me as my system depends on this feature to reward our users!
Concerning issue 1, yes I’ve set encryption key as you can see!
Concerning issue 3, it looked like you didn’t understand me, I was suggesting that, after 11 months, let the timeline display it in years insted of months, so for example the image below becomes a year ago!
23 months and above becomes 2 years ago, 35 months and above will display 3 years ago instead of 36 months, 40 months and so on…
