Hey there. In my theme it said ‘Visual Composer’, when I wanted to buy it here it said ‘WPBakery Page Builder’. Is this the same builder or what?
Hello, The WPBakery Visual Composer plugin was rebranded as WPBakery Page Builder last year. The plugin functionality is same. Only the plugin name and logo is changed.

This whole Visual Composer Bakery fiasco is BullShit. I want my websites back. Whoevers greedy piece of trash idea this was needs to rot in hell…. It’s been a while since I’ve edited websites, so I bought a theme only to find out Visual Composer is gone and now replaced with this garbage useless plugin.

Hi Rohan, I own a half-dozen Total WordPress Themes, which came bundled with WPBakery, but I know AJ is busy so I’ve actually bought some 2 licenses from you guys so I can get immediate updates. But you recently said WPBakery 5.6 has an option to disable the Gutenberg editor under General Settings, but I don’t see that option at all or will it only appear after I update to WordPress 5.0. I’ve been using WPBakery with Total for over 5 years now, and there’s just no way this old dog is going to be working with Gutenberg. Thanks!
Hello, The option to disable the Gutenberg editor will only appear if WordPress 5.0 is used as it has Gutenberg editor activated by default. You can then deactivate it under the plugin general settings, to continue using the backend editor at your end.

To activate the license and to avail features such as auto-updates, template library access, etc. the direct license of the plugin is required. Since the Wordpress 5.0 update, clicking on any page or post to edit will load some stuff, then the page goes blank. If edit a page via “Edit with WPBakery Page Builder” it will load the page in the builder, but I no longer have access or ability to edit the page normally.
kevbeards suggestion/fix to install Classic Editor and Disable Gutenberg plugins worked for me. Thanks, @kevbeards! Although that seems to have fixed it, for now, it definitely doesn’t seem right to have to have those plugins installed at all. Hopefully, there’s a well-documented fix here soon.
Hello, Please make sure that you are running the latest version of WPBakery Page Builder which is 5.6. It has an option to disable the Gutenberg editor under WPBakery Page Builder -> General Settings.

Very frustrating to buy this from codecanyon but it is out of date. CodeCanyon – you need to sell updated plugins I’ve just wasted over half a day.
Hello, In this case, you can import the license into your WPBakery account. To do so, you can login into: support.wpbakery.com/login If you are not sure about the login details, then use the reset password option and use the email id associated with your codecanyon account. Once logged in, navigate to licenses page and click on “import it” option at the bottom of the page. It will then prompt you to login into codecanyon to complete the import. You can then activate the plugin license as per: https://wpbakery.com/video-academy/activate-wpbakery-page-builder-wordpress-license/ to update the plugin.

Hello, I’ve updated my WP to 5.0 and still am stuck on WPBakery v5.4.5.
When I try to edit my pages, WPBakery doesn’t seem to work. It’s either Gutenberg or classic editor and I can’t work with it.
I’ve disabled classic editor through the WPBakery settings and I can still add new elements in my pages with WPBakery. but it isn’t integrated with the page content that’s alrready there. the WPBakery backend editor elements just go below the other editor on the page itself, and I can’t see the elements with text in a ‘WPBakery-style’, but rather in the Gutenberg style.
I want to get back all my old elements with WPBakery backend editor like I added them on my pages. What do I need to do?
FIXED. downloaded the classic editor and disabled block editor. WPBakery backend editor works now for me, through adding elements and continue editing existing text elements.
Hello, This issue is fixed in our 5.6 release and the disable option present in plugin general settings can be used to disable the Gutenberg editor.

Hello, If you are referring to on-scroll animations feature, then you can use our animation setting and add an animation to the column so that it is displayed when the respective column is visible.

If you updated to WP 5.0 but still want to use the old editor use this WP plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
That reverts your editor to the classic one (old version) which still has support through 2021 and gives you all the updates in 5.0. It simply blocks the Guttenberg editor.
I’m still trying to find anything about how WPBakery Page Builder will work with Guttenberg in the future.

You mean in the version that added to the theme? I keep my version updated and it did not have such a setting. but the one in the theme did. Now I’m forced to use the one added to the theme and not the stand alone?
Hello, Our standard plugin has an option to disable the Gutenberg editor under WPBakery Page Builder -> General Settings. Please make sure that you are running version 5.6 and WordPress 5.0.

Hi. I nave wpbakery blunded with a theme. Yesterday i upadated WP and after update wpbakery doesnt work in the backend…it is not visible Every element to build a page or a post of VC. But only classic visual editor with shortcodes appears.. In frontend it works fine…i already deactivated all plugins and set standard wp theme, bit nothing changed. Hi there, when are we going to be able to see full compatibility with the new block editor (Gutenberg) without installing the “classic editor”? This will be deprecated at some point in the future anyway. Will you be going on a different approach to get rid off the shortcode based structure to something else, perhaps React.js?
Hello, We have it on our list to check such a possibility in future for rendering the editor without using classic editor. At present you can disable the Gutenberg editor under WPBakery Page Builder -> General Settings -> Disable Gutenberg editor, to continue using the backend editor at your end.

Hello, it does not seem like Pagebuilder is operating on 5.0 out of the box. I put some code in to turn off Guttenburg and now I’m able to see Page Builder. Is there a way Page Builder works side by side with Guttenburg? Or is there a way to turn off Guttenburg from PageBuilder. Thanks in advance.
