Could ARMember protect Member-Specific Content using shortcode in page or post? For example [ARMember userId=”144”]protected content[/ARMember]. So only User “144” will see the content.

Just simply enable manual verification option. And then when user signup, it will go to pending status. And you will be able to approve from admin section and only then user will have access.

1) If I use any WooCommerce Payment Gateway, how the flow of the purchase or payment be? What are the disadvantages in it? Can I use this for recurring annual payments for automated payment reminders?
2) If I purchase the Payumoney Addon, is it going to work the same like Stripe and Authorize.net or there is something different in this? Can I use this for recurring annual payments for automated payment reminders?
3) I want to upload pdfs for the members to read it online, is there a possibility for me to hide the pdf url or make some url changes such that they are not accessible directly without logging in / non-subscribed member?
4) Cheat Off feature of yours works in what way? only one login at a time ? How about devices? Mobile and Desktop login ?
5) Brute Force feature will log off the user if the IP changes?
6) Can I keep the pdf teasers visible for my members such that non-subscribed / non-logged in members can see a gist of the pdfs such that the initial 4-5 pages and then he has to mandatorily login to read ahead?

WHen you use woocommerce to sell armember plans then only main disadvantage is that you wont be able to take automated recurring payment for subscriptions. You surely can sell subscriptions but payment will have to be done by user everytime manually.

Yes you can upload file somewhere and then hide url using partial content restriction shortcodes. so, only logged in users can see that url.
4) Cheat Off feature of yours works in what way? only one login at a time ? How about devices? Mobile and Desktop login ? In this feature when user is already logged in into one device and try to login on some other device(regardless of device type) then previous session will be ended.
5) Brute Force feature will log off the user if the IP changes? Brute force is to prevent to do constant login attempt and its not to log off users upon ip change. so, no sorry its not how it will work.
6) Can I keep the pdf teasers visible for my members such that non-subscribed / non-logged in members can see a gist of the pdfs such that the initial 4-5 pages and then he has to mandatorily login to read ahead? yes, you can keep two pdf, one is full and one is teaser. and then full one you can hide behind conditional shortcode and teaser one with less pages you can keep link posted on page and keep it viewable for everybody.
7) What’s the case with refunds , how does that work with cancelled subscription of an user within money back period? In case of user ask refund you get facility in admin to cancel subscription immediately but refund you need to initiate manually from gateway itself.
And regarding discount, unfortunately discount period is over.

Had another thing in my mind. I will be clubbing WooCommerce and Membership in my website for online reading as well as selling.
How will the user accounts be working? One login for both ? How will the membership order and WooCommerce orders be displayed?
Also, Can I hide media urls using the content access restriction to hide pdfs from direct downloads via url ?
1. armember users wordrpress standard user table to keep it compatible with all other plugins so, yes user login is same for both.
2. regarding woocommerce order, armember has nothing to do with that. so, should not be any problem on showing it.
3. to hide url you may need to get our digital download addon.

How do you remove the required asterisk (*) from the Username/Password on login page?
simply by putting small custom css. As those are mendatory fields so by default astrisk will stay there. to get assistance on css kindly open support ticket at our helpdesk.

pre purchase question, I have had a play with the free version and struggled to upload photos from my iPhone when it was set to use the new apple image format HEIC. As a lot of cusomters will have no idea what this is is there a way to make ARmember accept photos in the new apple format?

In fact we work on completely different theory. we keep everytihng in modular way and wont give tons of features in main plugin. instead we will keep everything in modules way. you can keep system simple and less complex and disable things which u dont need. And armember is most sophisticated membersihp plugin as we believe.

messaging paid or free member is not possible in armember core plugin. you may get facility in addon but there too presently no way to differentiate.

I am limited to the number of tickets I can open so I am writing here. I like the overall design of the plugin, very professional. This is a really good membership plugin with a lot of potential but there are several issues I need to resolve aside what I wrote in the tickets.
1. I am using PayPal for recurring subscriptions. When a user clicks cancel it usually has a link to PayPal where the subscriptions are and the user (after logging to PayPal) cancels the subscription on his own. With armember the user clicks cancel and then it says canceled but the recurring payments are still ongoing. I tested a custom email notification when a plan is canceled but I was not notified.
2. The renew button should only show when a plan expires and not displayed all the time.
3. I am using recurring payments with no expiration. When a user does cancel the plan by clicking on ‘cancel it is not updating in the backend of the website, its showing no expiration.
4. A feature suggestion is to have email all members of a certain plan (only active), a simple box for sending emails to all members. My older plugin had it and it was great!
Please help fix the above, these are major issues. I already have paying members on my website but I want to switch them over to armember,
