The look of the front end page is determined mostly of the theme you are using on your site. The demo site has this theme active: ‘Twenty Seventeen’ – please install it to your blog and activate it, the looks should be similar to my demo site afterwards.

No, my plugin will not be able to do this. Instead, it will return search results from the internet, with matching websites for the query that was made. It uses the ContextualWebSearch API service, you can test it here (results will be similar):

Ya, I just purchased and I am experiencing the exact same as nwa1982 said above. Maybe ‘ContextualWebsearch’ has only crawled certain pages or domains? A different search engine api might work. An example I did was search ‘digital camera’ and not ONE result was an amazon.com product. How is that? And so then I added amazon.com as a required domain. after searching digital camera again with only amazon as domain it gave 0 results. That obviously is not correct, so something is not working right or contextualAPI has limited crawled urls. Can we use another api or search engine to display results from?

I have bought the search engine plugin. I have some problems, when i type a search term, it takes very long to get results. And when i got the results it displays very little pictures or videos. When i just go to google or bing and search for same term i find a lot more and its much quicker. Is there a way to speed things up and give more results?

can this plugin do a Replace by domain? For example, any time a search query resulted an Amazon product, instead of amazon.com/product-page it could have affiliate link? like amazon.com/&id=mytrackingid20/productpage …

please update this comment when that feature is there and I will surely buy. I would like a one stop place for my clients & friends to search for products and if it is from one of the affiliate sites, my link is auto replaced.. This should be quite simple; if your results return as an array, you can add IF domain match function ‘amazon.com’ replace with $admin_entered_item.. . . etc. . I dont know how the search script works, just tryin to help think on it maybe for you. Tryin to assist, it would be cool to have

Great plugin. I just purchased it, I am looking for more updates on it! How can I get the search button under the search bar like google has?
Also can you create a plugin update where users can use voice to search? Google has a voice search option.
Another idea is when people click search, a new page reveals the search making the search results wider. For example if you google something you realize the search bar goes to the top of the page and becomes a header and the results are much bigger. It gives a better user experience.
Another idea for this plugin is to have the shorte.st ads to show randomly for example if I choose to show only 1, I don’t want it to show only on the first result, I want it to show on a random search link.
Another idea – on the front end have a section that says “searches today” this shows the number of searches people did for that day.

Right now, moving or redesigning the search bar and button can be done using CSS.
Regarding your suggestions, I have noted them all, they are really great. Here is my short feedback on them:
1. Voice search – great idea, I will look into this.
2. Wider search page can already be achieved. Please use the panopticon-search-redirect shortcode for this. You will have to put the main shortcode on a dedicated page (which will have wide layout) and use the panopticon-search-redirect shortcode on other pages, to redirect users that make the search to the main page (the wide page).
Example:
[panopticon-search-redirect redirect_page='FULL_URL_OF_THE_PAGE_WHERE_THE_MAIN_SHORTCODE_IS_INSTALLED' search_type='all']
3. Random Shorte.st link – good idea.
4. Searches today – good idea.
5. Not possible, because the ContextualWebSearch API does not offer video functionality. If in the future they add support for this, I will also add it to the plugin.
