1. Because coincap.io provides real-time (websocket) data feed, coinmarketcap doesn’t.

2. Please check the System requirements section, any hosting that satisfies these requirements should be good to go. If in doubt feel free to send us the hosting plan you are about to choose and we will advise if it’s ok.

3. When a trade is open or closed a new API request to pull the current price for a given coin is made. This price might be a bit different to what you see in the real-time feed, that’s why there can be difference.

4. There is documentation and built-in installation script which will guide you through the setup process. It’s easy to create competitions through backend, but if you have any specific questions we’ll be there to advise.

5. We’ll add cookies consent in the next app release, otherwise it’s GDPR compliant.

8. The quotes are refreshed every 5 minutes in background (via cron job). Apart from that active coins (those that are displayed at any point in time on a competition page) are refreshed every 10 seconds. This can not be changed.

9. There is no difference anymore since we disabled the real-time API in favor of the REST API. You can cross check the coins prices against public REST endpoints such as http://coincap.io/page/BTC – they should match (don’t compare quotes against the coincap.io website as it’s not where the quotes are taken from).

10. No, but creating a competition is nothing more than filling out a form with few fields, it’s not complicated.

Real-time API uses WebSocket protocol to exchange data between client and server. From user perspective both APIs should provide the same data, but in fact they sometimes provide different data, even if queried at the same time.

That’s basically how the issue #3 was solved, we disabled WebSocket API in favor of the REST API and now there is no difference between live price and closing price when you close a trade..

15. Just because margin trading is very popular, especially with fiat currencies (forex). But you can easily set Lot size and Leverage to 1 on a competition level and it will turn it into traditional buy / sell trading.

We will think of adding an option to be able to set light trading mode (no lot sizes and leverage) through the admin panel, but at the moment I can’t promise that it will be done for sure.

16. Yes, even those using social login. This is by the way one of the reasons why we haven’t yet enabled the admin demo as we don’t want to allow everyone seeing other people’s emails.
