Hey guys im working on a clients site and his background images are not showing up…..for example…..see the section in the middle of the home page with 4 circles…..supposed to have an image background…..any idea why it doesnt show? https://callcca.com/staging/
Hi James,
I’ve seen things like this happen when using versions of X and Cornerstone that are from different release cycles. If one is more out of date, sometimes there is a conflict. First I’d advise making sure you have the latest version of both. If you’re still having issues, you can reach out to our support team and they can advise further.
https://theme.co/apex/supportIn Cornerstone 3.5.4 on WordPress 5.2.2, using the Tab feature, when adding a photo from the media library, the photo appears in edit mode, but not when the page is viewed. The problem seems to have something to do with the “WP-Content” part of the path to the image.
We do not need any support on this, because our workaround was to serve the photos from Google Photos.
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry about the delayed response. I’m not sure what would cause this, but our support team could help you get to the bottom of it. You can contact our team here: https://theme.co/apex/support
Hi Is Cornerstone compatible with Wordpress 5.2.2 version? I just made a purchase, but can not install it.
Yes, it is compatible. We always test to make sure it’s compatible with each WordPress release. We can help you uncover what is preventing it from being installed. You can reach out to our support team here: https://theme.co/apex/support
Do you have a license that can be used on multiple sites? For example we have dev.domain.com and www.domainname.com we git to move from dev to production we need a kind of license that will not error if we change from dev.domainname.com to www.domainname.com.
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. Cornerstone is only sold under the CodeCanyon licensing. This regretfully doesn’t allow for multiple uses under a single license.
Is there any way we can get this to work as we develop on dev.domainname.com and our production site is www.domainname.com?
I should define development which includes updates.
hi there,
i got a presale question.
if i already made a wordpress website, can i change everything with this..? or i need to start from zero with cornerstone..?
Hi there,
If there are pages you would like to manage with Cornerstone you would need to rebuild them using the page builder. You could have a mixture of pages managed by your theme, other builders, and Cornerstone. It doesn’t need to be done all at once but that’s usually ideal so you can keep the design consistent.
Hi! I’m using Cornerstone with a different theme (MyReligion from CMS Masters). It’s working great, but I’m finding that all of the answers in the KB forum are assuming the user is using X or Pro. None of the solutions provided will help, since they’re all CSS edits for X users. For example, I want to remove the button in the callout item, and want to hide the menu/header on a single page – I found answers for doing those things, but the CSS workarounds are for the X theme. Is there a support base somewhere for Cornerstone only, that provides help for those of using it with a different theme? So far the knowledge base has been utterly useless to me, and there are a number of things I want to accomplish but cannot
Thanks in advance for your help!
We are experience errors/issues with the Headline element. We are using the X theme version 6.5.3 but Cornerstone version 3.4.6, please help
Hi there,
The latest version of Cornerstone is 3.5.2 so I would first try updating the plugin. Because you have the latest version of X already installed the easiest thing would be to delete Cornerstone. When you revisit the X Validation screen it will automatically install the latest version of Cornerstone for you.
Thank you, that worked
You’re most welcome!
Hi,
Do you have any plans for releasing the API for V2 Elements? Can you please point me in the right direction to create elements with V2 API?
Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Kind Regards,
InfiWebs
Hi InfiWebs,
You can use the API by copying some of the code from our internal elements. We don’t have official documentation available describing how this works regretfully.
Thanks for the update. I see the internal elements are also not well commented so its not easy to copy the code to get it work unfortunately. Do you have any plans on releasing the API for add-on developers?
It isn’t part of our current roadmap but it’s something we have always considered since V2 elements were released. Unfortunately I can’t provide any ETA on when it might be available.
Thanks for the clarification.
You’re welcome!
Hi,
Cornerstone is compatible with WordPress 5 and Gutenberg editor?
Thanks
Absolutely! We’re committed to keeping everything compatible with whatever direction WordPress takes. Cornerstone doesn’t integrate in a way that changes or adds to Gutenburg, but the work nicely side-by-side so you can choose to use either builder when creating a page.
My client currently has Cornerstone setup and it is working great, there is just one thing however. Is there an API that allows me to get the content I setup in cornerstone?
Hi, the support included with my purchase expired and I’m currently having an issue on my website. Your plugin has been working perfectly, however this small problem doesn’t allow me to edit a page inside my website.
When I try to edit a certain page through the Cornerston editor, this is what appears:The preview could not load due to the iframe response being incomplete. This is most often related to a plugin conflict, or customizations introducing a PHP error.
I’m not able to detect the source of the error as there should be no plugin confliction with Cornerstone. If you provide an email where I can contact you and eventually provide login details it would be highly appreciated. Cheers
Hi There,
A member of our development team would be happy to assist with any product support questions in our support forums. If you haven’t done so already, you can register for access or login then head on over to the support page of your account for further instructions.
Cheers!
As I said, I would like to know an email address where I can contact you. The forum is public and there is no way to set a thread as “private”, unless you are a moderator. Thanks.
Hi there,
We don’t handle any support over email. However, once your thread is opened in the forums one of our team members can show you how to add confidential information that is only visible to you and the support team. We regularly use this process for logging in to customer sites when needed.
Hi! 2 presale questions:
1) In case one day I wanted to stop using Cornerstone would it be possible to still use the content created with it, would it leave valid HTML code or a bunch of shortcodes? If it does not leave valid HTML code, do you have any tool to export the content?
2) Is this builder exactly the same as the one used by your PRO theme, with all the same features and functionalities?
Thanks!
Hey There,
1. As for any page builder that comes with custom elements when stop using the page builder the elements would break and not render properly.
2. Pro has additional editor capacities for the header and footer, for the content area the functionality is on par.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Hi there,
1. I am afraid I think what you’ve just said is not correct. Right now there is another page builder –I don’t think this is the right place to give its name, unless you ask for it of course– that is not shortcode based so in case it is not used anymore one ends up with content that is valid html code so it is a matter of just styling it.
2. I have licenses of X and PRO –all updated to the last version– and I can see that for most of the elements (at least the V2 elements) the builder in PRO has more options than in X. In this case –Cornerstone sold separately– is it the same as the one found in X or the one in PRO?
Hey There,
Cornerstone is a plugin that is bundled with X. Pro does not comes with Cornerstone as it has a native page builder.
Hello, I want to know if the latest version is compatible with WordPress 4.9.8?
Thank you
Yes indeed
We always make sure our products are kept compatible with the latest versions of WordPress.
Cheers!
Hi Themeco! Love your plugin and was wondering if anyone else running xtheme (which uses and provides a copy of cornerstone for free with purchase) is getting the same errors as we are over at http://www.merkabasol.com.
Cornerstone and xtheme are having strange conflicts on our site. I can’t access the customizer unless I turn cornerstone off and it throws strange errors saying it will go to “skeleton mode” then nothing happens.
Let me know if there is a fix in the works or if you would like to take a closer look and I’ll provide admin access. thx!
Hey there,
Thanks for writing in! Just to let you know, we provide all of our official support via the forum in our member area. If you have not done so yet, please register for access and direct your question to the forum where one of our staff will be more than happy to assist you.
Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions about signing up!
I currently use the Avada Theme with the Fusion Builder and Fusion Slider. I really want to implement several features in Cornerstone, but don’t have time to rebuild all my current pages just yet. Can Fusion and Cornerstone co-exist until I get time to port everything over?
Howdy!
Thanks for writing in! Yes, you can certainly use Cornerstone and Avada’s builder on the same website at the same time, but you can only use one on a page at a time. For instance, if you had an “About” page and a “Contact” page on your site, you could use Cornerstone on the “About” and Avada’s builder on the “Contact” page, but you could not use both builders on the “About” page at the same time.
Hopefully that helps and don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions!
Hello! Can i make this builder a public service for all users or i can use it only for my own purposes? Thanks!
Hey There,
It is a page builder for building out your website so it resides in the backend and is not for public use. All the best!
I’ve bought about 20 X or Pro licenses for myself and clients over the last year alone, I don’t think I’ll be buying any more since Cornerstone still breaks Wordpress 4.4’s srcset functionality and they still haven’t fixed this. I either have to go back and recreate 50 pages without Cornerstone, and apply the “temporary” fix functions to my child theme, resize all my images down from retina sized images, or leave the site failing miserably on speed tests.
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in. Cornerstone doesn’t break anything in WordPress, nor does it change anything related to how WordPress handles images.
The image element in Cornerstone doesn’t store the WordPress attachment ID. This means you need to choose an exact image. Our recommendation is to simply always use retina ready images. If properly compressed, we’ve observed that this will not have a major impact on site load times. Mobile devices are continuously improving screen density and even in portrait view you could lose quality on many modern devices.
If you’d still rather handle this in the tool itself you can add multiple image elements in the same place and hide them according to different screen widths. This technique could be used sparingly to optimize images that may be particularly large.
Umm… adding multiple images and selectively hiding them would make load times worse – you’re only hiding it with css that way, it still loads. Using retina-ready images is the problem, not the solution. I don’t want large images loading for small displays, I don’t think any developer does – which is why I am disappointed with Cornerstone.
Modern functionality is lost when editing with Cornerstone. Any other theme I use, any other editor I use is compatible with Wordpress 4.4’s use of srcset. Use of the srcset tag is also an internet standard for most any CMS I work with – and has been for a while… almost as long as the “temporary fix” used where themeco has addressed this problem in various support threads and forums.
Hello again,
We do appreciate you writing in with your feedback and hope that for the time being the power offered by our products makes it worthwhile for you to continue using. We plan on revisiting this at some point, but it will likely be a few months out considering our current roadmap.
Hi I have a recent version of the X theme and I don’t seem to have the option to save a template as a download. Any ideas?
Hi There,
You can get the latest version from the download page of your ThemeForest account. Let us know if you need anything further!
Got it. Just tick the template in the template manager and the download buttons appear. thanks All.
Awesome, most welcome!
Hello,
I’m considering buying Cornerstone, but have some pre-sale questions:
1. The first thing I couldn’t find in docs, if Cornerstone also has a starter theme – like many of its competitors?
I mean, I’d primarily use Cornerstone to build websites based on custom UI designs from the ground up – instead of just customizing a theme. (I assume it’s possible, based on the great demo videos on Cornerstone’s flexibility I’ve seen.) What is the best theme to use for this purpose? For example the so-called KONG builder comes with a starter theme, with almost no styling. Is there a similar theme for Cornerstone too?
2. Is it maybe possible to create ‘portfolio’ type posts?
3. Does Cornerstone support Contact Form 7 – or similar form plugin?
Thank you in advance, Márton Lente
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in. Cornerstone doesn’t include a starter theme, but with each purchase of X you get Cornerstone for free. X is a great theme to use as a starting point.
Cornerstone is primarily a page builder but will allow you to build content for any post type. There isn’t however a way to register new post types like a Portfolio. If that type was already setup you could use Cornerstone to build out the content area.
Yes, Contact Form 7 is supported and we include an element that can be used to easily add forms to your pages.
Hello,
Thanks for the prompt response! I’m still not sure though about the ‘best practice’ for laying out a custom design.
X Theme seems nice and powerful, but maybe ‘over-styled’ for the task. I mean, what is the ‘go to’ theme, when you start building a website based on a visual design? For WordPress theme developers there is e.g. Underscores, or Thematic. I’m looking for the – contextually similar – theme for designers, who’d like to use Cornerstone building custom designs. Or is it still X Theme? If so, which ‘stack’ would you recommend?
If I only use Cornerstone without X Theme, what would be a good theme-option for my intention?
Sorry for the many pre-sale questions – I’m a professional web designer, and look for a page builder for the long term.
Thank you!
Hey There,
You can style X as minimal as you need it to be, we do not set any boundaries on what you can achieve with it. That’s the idea of our theme in combination with our Cornerstone page builder. Limitless options when it comes to style and design.
Cornerstone works with any time as it’s a page builder. But indeed X is the best fit for Cornerstone as we both develop them with each other in mind.
Hello,
Thank you for your information!
You’re welcome!
Really struggling with the cornerstone plugin. It will not let me save anything so currently I cannot make any changes what so ever to our website (tried disabling plugins clearing caches different browsers) to no avail just keep getting “Uh Oh” message
(Version 6.25 X and 3.2.5 cornerstone)
