I have an other issue. I use Newspaper theme, and when I put your TOC in a sidebar, it doesn’t work. It stops people from scrolling and sends them back to top all the time.
And when people try to click on the TOC, it starts to scroll bot, fails, and goes back top.
I put Fixed TOC in debug mode and created a demo page to show you the problem. I’ll send you the link through support form, but can you please answer here (I couldn’t find your email even when searching for “wphigh”, “envato” or “support” in my emails and spams).

we are running Version 3.1.7.
When we set wp_debug to “true” in wp-config and run your plugin with php 7.2,
We get the following error message at the backend and frontend:
Function create_function() is deprecated in /mysite.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/fixed-toc/admin/class-admin-control.php on line 58
Could you please let us know how we can fix this error?
That is a warning message. Because the function has been DEPRECATED as of PHP 7.2.0, using anonymous function instead, or disable WP Debug mode. The Fixed TOC is created in 2014, PHP 7 didn’t exist yet. The plugin needs to compatible with PHP 5.2.1, So it still use the function create_function(). I’ll update it to compatible with low and high PHP version in the future.
Hello, how to hide the TOC on the top of an article? I have tried to uncheck the “Display in post”, but it turned out that the TOC didn’t work normally.

Remove your extra custom CSS at first. Then check the “Debug” option in the Fixed TOC Settings page. Give me the page link via the Supported page.

Sorry for my mistake. Now I have unchecked the “Display in post”, and it turned out nothing changed. The TOC is still on the top of the article.
When I turn off all the “display in post” triggers, including in a single post and in apprearance’s customization settings, the TOC on the top did disappear, but the TOC on the side didn’t display normally. As you can see now in the post.

I used und love the plugin for the last years. But it doesn’t work with the new Newspaper 8 Pagebuilder. The Widget ist not displayed and by auto embed it it was shown on top of the Post. Both the Content and the button
Hi, Pre-sales question… Does this plugin give the option for the TOC to be hidden, with just the word “contents” (or something I choose) when displayed at top of the page? Then when the user clicks on it, it expands and shows the page content? Thank you
To clarify, I mean for this to be the default setting (when someone opens the page for the first time)
Yes, You can set to whether to expand or collapse the TOC for initial state.

Hello! Thanks for the great plugin, this is exactly what I wanted! I had a problem: the widget in the sidebar is not shown completely (for example, https://geeker.ru/games/igry-pro-vtoroyu-mirovuyu-vojnu/#ftoc-heading-15). Can I fix this by leaving the widget in the sidebar?
PS: After installing the widget, the button in the mobile version disappeared 
1. What does the “not shown completely” mean? Try to check the “fixed the widget” option, and do not fix the sidebar. 2. which device do you use? I have test on mobile and the button displayed.

Hi. I have checked the display in widget option, then select display in post option. The fixed widget in sidebar for desktop, and fixed menu on mobile works well, but there is no show at the top of the post. I thought the display in post function is compatible with widget, as the instruction says “It doesn’t work if you have unchecked the ‘Display in Widget’ option.” ?
On post edit page, I realised that the instruction regarding display in post is ” Display at the top of the post or insert the shortcode [toc] anywhere. Make sure that you have UNCHECKED the ‘Display in Widget’ option.” So the instruction in customise is wrong?
That means the post TOC won’t display until the widget TOC disabled. They can’t work together.

Hey, when having the TOC in the sitebar, it automatically goes full Hight. Is it possible to limit this size, so it does not go all the way down and thereby overlaps the header and footer?
Don’t insert the TOC in the sidebar if you want to limit the size of it. Just set to fix to the post.
Thank you for this amazing plugin. – However, is it possible to differentiate between desktop and mobile users the following way: a.) By default open the full table of content to desktop users AND b.) by default only offer the trigger button to mobile users? – The feedback I got from users is that the full menu distracts them on mobile when automatically opened, but that it would make sense on the desktop.

Yse. The Fixed TOC plugin supports any custom post types. It supports post and page by default. But you can check other post type options via the setting page.

First, thank you for a nice TOC-plugin. It works pretty nice and after some initial fiddling with the settings I find it highly usable.
But (there is always a but, right?), I notice it’s not compatible with Cloudflare Rocket Loader.
When I enable Rocket Loader the TOC won’t show on desktop (it does on mobile). Regardless what setting I use, with Rocket Loader enabled your plugin refuse to show.
Since millions of websites use Cloudflare, I would like to suggest that you add Rocket Loader support with a future update. If possible of cause. Some things just can’t be done in a good way.

It worked when i remove Jquery for Boostrap 4 code.jquery.com/jquery-3.3.1.slim.min.js. Can help me use it at the same time?
Don’t load the jQuery file directly. It is unsafe. You can google “how to use jQuery in WordPress” to find how to use it properly.

2) Yes. It creates the actual HTML code. You can find It via the page source on the browser.
Dear Theme author, I purchased the plugin 3 days ego. And installed it to my existing website. My website used Thrive Architect as a Visual builder. After installing the plugin all of the pages I created by thrive architect is showing nothing but a white screen. But other pages where I didn’t use Thrive architect are working fine. After deactivating the plugin it is working again. I contacted your support. But they didn’t give me any solution. Can you please take a look into this.
