Instead of Amazon S3 which is way overpriced, why don’t you implement the Wasabi, they have no fees for download/upload/gets etc. Check it out wasabi.com

That’s correct, wasabi uses the same API structure as S3, but the current S3 SDK that the Droppy plugin is using doesn’t support this at this moment. I’m looking into updating the SDK to support other S3 APIs.

hi, I already install premium and s3. i uploaded one file for testing s3 and it uploads the file to s3 very well, however, when I want to copy the download file link and use it, it appears the 404 error because it says that the link doesn’t exist. I don’t if this comes from s3 plugin or if maybe it happens since the main installation. however, all steps were well done: paypal account attached successfully, s3 attached successfully too, so what can I do? thanks.

Pre-sales question: if I understand correctly: 1. User upload the file. 2. This file will be stored first in local server in order to compress the file into zip. 3. The plugin upload this compressed file into AWS3. 4. Finally, the plugin (or the core script) delete the file from the local server.

Files are going to your server first, and will then be uploaded to S3, this is because S3 can’t zip files, your webserver will zip the files first and then upload the final file to S3.

You can add blocked file types (mime types) to the blocked file type list, by logging into your admin panel and going to “Settings -> General settings”, scroll down to the bottom and you will see the input section over there.

This plugin connects Droppy to S3 so all the uploaded files will be stored in a S3 bucket instead of your local server. Currently it is not possible to connect this plugin to anything else than S3.

Hi, very interesting but it should upload directly to S3 (even without zipping the files), to save bandwith on the main server. If you start using it often you should incur in heavy charges from your server provider. Could you please set an option for this? NO Zipping -> Direct Upload to S3

Just check 4 folders system of PrestaShop and send to S3 or CloudFront whenever you have a new file on the server, and synchronize.

This is a plugin for Droppy – Online file sharing, so you will need that product first before you are able to use the S3 plugin. The S3 plugin will upload all uploaded files to S3, if you have a server with low storage capacity then this plugin would be very useful. S3 is a product of Amazon Web Services and more info about S3 can be found over here https://aws.amazon.com/s3/

May I ask which plan you are talking about, do you mean the type of storage like “standard storage, reduced redundancy etc.” ? If so then you should go with standard storage, this would be the cheapest and fastest way.

There should be a email.css in the src/css/ directory of your specified theme. You will be able to edit this email.css file and set your own preferences. If you would like to change the email HTML you will need to open your config.php file located in the config/ directory. And scroll down to the bottom of the config.php file.

Thanks for your interest. The plugin needs to upload the files first to the web server because it can not zip them using S3. So when someone uploads some files they will first go to the server, when they are uploaded Droppy will zip them together and upload the zip file to your S3 bucket.

Hi there. I am currently using another file sharing script, which I am satisfied with for now, but it is resource consuming and no amazon s3 plugin.
So, I would be happy to switch to Droppy + AWS plugin. But first I need to get some answers
1. I can’t find an admin panel demo for Droppy
2. The feature of showing and storing the sender’s and receiver’s email address for newesletter purpose is mandatory.
3. I read something in comments that someone asked for a plugin for pro users, like wetransfer. Is the plugin going to be released soon?
4. can I use Droppy on a shared hosting account , or at least a VPS is required ?
5. also, I notice that a needed feature is missing : you cannot select multiple files to upload. For example : i click dd file, I select file, I click Ok, then I should be able to select another file (an “Add another file” button)

3. Yes that is correct, I am planning to add function that allows user to choose a premium package where they can get more upload size and more features, I am not sure when I will release this but I am already working on it so it will be released soon !
4. Yes it will be possible to use shared hosting, but keep in mind that you need to be able to change some php settings (Most of the web hosting providers will allow you to).
5. That is correct, I have looked into this in the past, but it seems like I am not able to add this with the current upload system that Droppy is using, I am planning to re-code this upload system but I am not sure when this will be ready.

Besides keeping the email address for newsletter purpose, the premium packages for users, adding multiple files one-by-one , i have few suggestions that can turn Droppy into a much powerful tool
1. when you download a file, you see “http://droppy.proxibolt.com/src/action.php” as the source of the file . For security purpose, you could make it somehow like “http://droppy.proxibolt.com/downloads/hd7cGfs” where hd7cGfs is the file ID .
2. In admin panel , in uploads and downloads section, add the field File name. It would help a lot when doing cleaning , or when somebody calls in about forgeting their link to the file.
3. On the download page, it should be stated “Time left : 1 day, 3 hrs”
4. About email templates, they should be diffrent for every language, so the best way to do this is to put it in the language file.
Also, I would like to see how dvertisements on upload/download page looks, because I am not allowed to activate it in demo mode.
It would be a great pleasure for me to contribute in developing a great product by sharing my thoughts about it. Also, after some of these features will be added, I will purchase it, test it carefully and add some translations.
