I have a problem. If I try to make some different rate tables like [hb_rates] or with some parameters from your documentation. Always I get this message> Invalid shortcode. Use: [hb_rates accom_id=”ID”]

If i use [hb_rates accom_id=”1”] its work propetly.

I would like to have a table rate with an adult (rate per adult above the normal occupancy), child (rate per child above the normal occupancy).

Hi Petr,

If you are using the [hb_rates] outside of the accommodation page, you need to specify the accom_id. For example: [hb_rates accom_id=”1” type=”adult”]

If you need further help with that, could you please contact us via our support request form please? Make sure you include WordPress admin login details as well as mentioning the page where you test, so we can advice you better?

Can this plugin be integrated into PayPal Payflow?

Some of my customers are not receiving a confirmation e-mail after making a booking, is this a know problem and how can I make sure that everyone receives a confirmation mail?

Thank you for your message. This is not a known issue. If I understand you well, some clients receive the confirmation email while other don’t, am I right? I would recommend to double check that you have added a “reply-to” field in the email templates, to contact your host provider to check any filtering on their side and maybe to try to send emails using SMTP instead of wp_mail function (there are plugins for that).

Hi sir, Pre-sales questions, I would like to ask if this plugin can support other payment gateway such as billplz or others except paypal and stripe?

Thank you for your interest in HBook plugin.

Current payment gateways for HBook are PayPal (PayPal Express Checkout) and Stripe. We as well have an add-on for RedSys payment gateway (Spanish payment gateway).

If you wish to add another payment gateway, it requires coding the integration. Solid coding knowledge is needed.

To add a payment gateway, I would suggest to study the API documentation given by the payment gateway and to check the two different payment gateways already integrated to HBook as they are examples of the two different type of payment process :
  • the customer stays on your site to pay (ex: Stripe)
  • the customer is redirected to the third-party payment provider to pay and then re-directed back to your site (ex: PayPal Express Checkout)
Please note that support does not include plugin customization. Thank you for your comprehension.

Hi, I need to be able to sort and display my accommodations in different categories. You have commented a few times (two years ago) that this is something you will put into the plugin if requested. How is this development going? Can we expect it to happen any time soon?

Thank you for your feedback and for your patience!. Yes, I wish to do that when adding filters to the search form. It is on the features to come in one of the next versions. Some other features have been added to HBook before that as they were given priority. Thank you for your comprehension. ;-)

I guess you have set a “Maximum selectable date” in HBook > Misc > Opening date.

I have a question about the iCal sync. I’ve been reading your answers on other comments and only have one question left; is the iCal sync one-way – from iCal to the HBook? Any new reservations in HBook will not be transferred back to iCal? Thanks for the additional info. Peter.

Thank you for your interest in my plugin.

iCal can be set either one way or two ways. So you can set HBook so you only import reservations from external calendars/booking platforms or only export reservations to external calendars/booking platforms or both ways. Hoping it makes sense!

Yes, you can set minimum stay depending on the check-in day. HBook can be set with booking option as you describe: either Friday-Monday, Monday-Friday or Saturday-Saturday. All good ;-)

hello Nice to meet you I am SATOYOU. I am considering purchasing your wonderful reservation system. It is a question about setting of room charge. There are 10 types of room types. Rates per person per night will change depending on the number of guests. The number of nights stay is from 3 nights. 3 night, 4 nights, 5 nights, 6 nights, 7 nights, and more extra night fee. Children are uniformly $ 150 for the entire stay. Is it possible to set such room rates? please tell me.

I am looking for a booking plugin for my holiday home website that can sync with Air Bnb & Booking.com to save me having to go between my own website, air bnb and booking.com every time someone makes a booking on one of the sites.

Does your plugin have the capability to sync the above mentioned sites?

Yes, HBook supports iCal synchronization which means that you can have a two-way synchronization between your website and other booking platforms as booking.com and AirBnb. This will be done automatically and will save you the manual work of keeping several platforms up do date, as well as preventing double bookings. ;-)

With the current version of HBook, it is not possible to offer filters and sort in the list of results displayed after a search. This is a feature which I have in mind to add in a future update. ;-)

You can decide in which order the accommodation are displayed to your client as they are shown in the same order as they appear for you in the admin page Accommodation. You can change this order simply by editing the date of creation of the post.

If you wish to offer the client a way to filter or sort the results, this need customization of HBook. There is no real workaround here but coding is required. ;-)

I have some presale questions. I want to make a website for a Hostel using Grandium – Responsive WordPress Hotel Theme.

1.- Is it possible to make dorm rooms with 12 beds? if yes, Is it possible to book a single bed in a dorm and keep the rest of beds available for booking?

2.- Can i put new payments gateways based on Woocommerce?

3.- Is it possible to block manually a room if i receive for example a booking via phone?

Thank you for your interest in HBook plugin.

1. HBook works per room/property basis and does not work per bed. This is why it is directed at hotels, B&B, campsites, holiday homes, apartent rentals… but not really for hostels.

We have clients who choosed to use HBook for hostels and they use different workarounds to make it work for their needs:
  • set more accommodation types than what you actually have to offer: “1 bed in dormitory”, “2 beds in dormitory”, “3 beds in dormitory”, “4 beds in dormitory”... You might not wish to show all options when the search is for one or two persons for example. To achieve this, you can set a minimum occupancy and maximum occupancy so only some accommodation types appear in the results. 
  • link accommodation types. So if someone books “2 beds in one dormitory”, then 2 beds of “1 bed in dormitory” type are automatically blocked. Note that you will still have to update availability manually as HBook will not be able to adress all situations with this (as there are many cases to adress in a hostel like case).
  • you might wish to set HBook so it works as a booking request system. You will set that a reservation needs to be confirmed before dates are blocked out in the calendar and set payment options as “Customer do not have to pay online”.
  • if you wish to take payment, you can set HBook to ask credit card details at the time of the reservation but charge at a later stage. This is only available with Stripe payment gateway. See here in the knowledgebase.

2. HBook does not have WooCommerce integrated yet. Current gateways are PayPal, Stripe and RedSys(add-on for Spain). Adding another payment gateway means coding or hiring someone to code the integration. Note that you can set HBook with payment taking place offline (bank transfer, on arrival…).

3. Yes, you can block accommodation or enter a reservation from the back-end. No problem at all with this!

Is there a way to have Hbook send a pre- and post-stay email to the customer? We would like to send a reminder of their booking a week before and, most importantly a follow up email after. If Hbook cannot do this, is there another plugin that might work in conjunction (and if it can’t do this, please consider adding)

Thank you for your feedback. It is not possible at the moment to have emails sent automatically “x” days before check-in or after check-out date.

In next version, it will be possible to set other email templates that are not linked to any action. You will then be able to select directly from the reservation which email to send and to customize it if you wish before sending. Is it not exactly what you are after but it is a first step. ;-)

Can those be automated or do you mean they will have to be sent manually?

For the moment, they will need to be sent manually. I have in mind to add other options for email sent automatically as for example the number of days before check-in or after check-out but it will probably not be added to next version. Thank you for your patience!

Hi, I’ve set different season and different season prices and at the end set a 20% discount on some season with some exceptions (like 2/3 days inside the season. To make it, I’ve created a small season (2/3 days to exclude) inside the main season). It works good and calculates the discount subtracting those exceptions (So in some cases it gives me 14.89% discount, in other cases 8% discount, and it’s ok). But it doesn’t work for the last exception, which is basically the same but longer. Why?

Here’s a recap on how is it configured:

and excluded: Alta Stagione (Ferragosto) Ponte 2 Giugno Notte Rosa

Those 3 exclusions are inside the other season but for Ponte 2 Giugno and Notte Rosa it works good, for Alta Stagione (Ferragosto) it doesn’t calculate the discount, why???

If I try to book for example form 05/30 to 05/06 it gives me discount only on the days that are not Ponte 2 Giugno, but on Alta Stagione (Ferragosto) it doesn’t work and I don’t understand why

Thanks for the update. Glad to know that you could get sorted with this issue. ;-)

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the date format in the back-end without customization. The format “yyyy-mm-dd” is how it is saved in the database and it would need coding to change the back-end display. It is something I have in my wishlist for future development. However, I can not guarantee that it will be added soon. Thank you for your comprehension!

If it was as simple as modifying one file, I would have modified this already! ;-)

The format “yyyy-mm-dd” is the MYSQL date format. You would need to create two functions: one that modifies this format to “dd-mm-yyyy” and the reverse function. Then, you would need to call the first function before displaying the date in every single place where the date is displayed in the admin pages “Seasons” and “Reservations”. When there is a date selection from the back-end (date picker for seasons and reservations added by the admin), you will need to use the second function as the date needs to be saved in MYSQL format in the database.

All files for the admin pages are located in hbook/admin-pages

Please note that support does not include code customization which means that I will not be able to help you much more with this. Thank you for your comprehension!

need something that customer books for the day for a wedding hall. Check out date is not needed or appropriate for my customer. Is this possible?

what would be perfect is times available such as 7am – 3pm and 6pm-midnight; for any given day.

I am afraid HBook is not suitable for events that take place on a single day with specific hours. There need to be at least 1 night between check-in and check-out date, as it is a product which is mainly for hotel industry. ;-)

You can edit the file booking-form.js file which is located at the following path: wp-content\plugins\hbook\front-end\js

Go to line number 398 and you will find the code as shown below.

window.open( $( this ).data( ‘accom-url’ ), ‘_blank’ );

You can change the _blank to the _self and save your changes and then check again.
