Hello, getting 500 internal error on trying to install. Can you please provide a list of all file permissions that need to be set? chmod 777 to what files and folders?

Hello, have installed everything on my VPS, however when i try to register a free account the system is not sending a verification email to the users registered email.
I have chosen a php mail option under the admin account. There is nothing in the spam folder on my test gmail account.
Are there additional steps needed to send the verification email to users?

Hello @dansal. Thank you for purchasing our product. Using PHP Mail (send directly through VPS itself) is sometimes not a good choice if your VPS is not setup correctly to act as a true SMTP system. It is likely that your email may have been discarded by the receiving server since the sending one is not complying to some SMTP standard. Can you just try with an SMTP service instead?
I think it would be best if you showed us how to setup the initial mailer service. I can not get users to verify their account. Please advice on this.
Also important to note. Even with an SSL and https gmail says that this url may be unsafe? Is this because of the program?
maybe even go into detail regarding all of the settings such as sending domains and most importantly… how to connect amazon AWS to the application..

Hello @NationalSEO. It seems your API is generated from a user account which does not have enough privilege on SNS and SES services. Please use the API KEY generated by your AWS root account. Regards.
Okay I gave the user group admin privileges and it worked but now there is a new error..

You need to register the sending domain with AWS SES. Then, in Acelle Mail, you need to setup the FROM EMAIL address to match with the sending domain. See AWS documentation here:

I use Sparkpost and added a sending domain. For DKIM I used standard format with public KEY.
If you are sending through SparkPost, then you just need to register your domain with SparkPost and follow their verification wizard to setup the DKIM on your domain, it is done on the sending server end, not Acelle end. Regards.

Okay, I was able to get everything installed and running. There is an error however and I am near 100% it was done correctly.
ERROR The stream or file ”/var/www/html/acellemail/storage/logs/mail.log” could not be opened: failed to open stream: Permission denied
(the permission should be already set to 755)
This error only occurs when sending a campaign. The test email works.
Any thoughts?

Hello I am in the process of installing this project on a Ubuntu Desktop Server. Currently it has all of the requirements & LAMP w/ Apache2 that you have set however I still am not able to get to the install directory… It just displays a directory listing of all the files on the server. The only folder / file that actually works properly with php is the guideline folder which gives a brief overview of the instructions.
Can you please provide a little more detail on what is required? I have a php.info file if you would like to view and verify that all modules are indeed installed…

I got it, the way I was doing it was slightly unorthodox you could say. Simply had to visit the /acellemail/public/ folder on my server and bingo it started to work!!!
May want to add this into the instructions file to help some users

- The reputation of your domain which you send email on behalf of
- The reputation of your sending server’s IP address
- Email’s compliance to internet standard (DKIM, SPF, DMARC, etc.)
- Email content
For example, if you are sending through Amazon SES, you have to register your sending domain with Amazon, then setup the domain’s DKIM which will be used to sign every message you send. It would make it more likely that your email reach recipients’ inbox (rather than the SPAM box)

I have two customers, example.org and jondoe.org My domain is localhost.org
Is it possible to create an unsubscribe link, which looks like this “a href=”example.org/newsletter/unsubscribe/{messageID}” the link sends a request to localhost.org via curl
Or do I have to use the localhost.org in all cases?

Every customer has new rights according to this act, for example right for deleting all personal data (email is also personal according to the act, also IP address). Act regulates also the rights to transfer all personal data in the data file as xml, json, csv, or the like.
Fines for non-compliance are very high, 4% of turnover or 20 million euros. Facebook and any other world company that has EU customers will have to comply with this regulation.
