my server also runs the app. Unfortunately, after the update of Ubuntu 16:04 the Internet connection is not there is the app I have with the current android studio again made the dashboard under the port 8080 runs and it seems to be all right. In case your app can not connect to the server there might be something to do with https protocol as android blocked non secured http connections by default.

This means that the backend is either not running or there is a problem with the app inside. There are multiple reasons why this may happen but we need to see it by connecting to your environment. Please enable logging inside the app and check what kind of response the app gets from the backend.
