When I use the [cinnamon-card] shortcode to display all the users, the sort functions are not working properly, and also the display of this page on the phone is not good. Could you take a look at this issue, and any plan to fix this? Thanks.

Can you send me a link to your authors page?

This page doesn’t publish yet, I can send some snapshoots to you. Can you get your email address?

I don’t need snapshots, as I need to see the sort functions live.

Using [imagepress-add-bulk] gives this error: You have reached the maximum number of images allowed. (10/)

I have not set any user based limitations. Just the global 1000. Any ideas?

Using [imagepress-add] works – but it also shows both image upload fields? I thought it was only meant to show one image upload field?

Btw, working local at the moment so can’t give access.

You need to set all upload limits, not only the global one. Also, both image upload fields? What do you mean? There are 2 if you are using secondary images.

I have fixed this in version 6.6.0, coming next Monday.

Maybe I’m missing something but I’ve setup imagepress and finished the instructions under the installation tab and now I’m lost what to do next. I created the login page but how do I get to all the other features such as the image uploader, etc? i can login and edit my profile but that’s it. Do I need to manually create pages for everything? If so where’s the complete list of shortcode for each page?

Edit OK I found the shortcode and am creating pages however I still have a few issues. For one the user profile pages give 404 even after following the steps to set this up. The installation page gives this a check mark as well. Additionally when uploading a photo when I click view Image it takes me to a blank page.

For the 404 pages, you should go to Settings -> Permalinks and resave them. You shouldn’t use the default Permalinks.

For blank pages, you need to have a single-image.php template with the code in the documentation.

If your issues persist, contact me via email (check my profile page here, there’s a contact box lower right).

Hello, I have a problem with the link to the author’s page. There is automatically a 301 redirect to the home page.

Maybe you have a plugin that disables author archives.

i use XenWord a Bridge for Xenforo, but i disabled the function.

Can you contact me via email and create a temporary admin user for me?

Is there a shortcode for the Authors page like in the demo images?

The one which lists all authors.

Actually, my fault, the option is already there. Check the Users tab, the Author Cards section:

ImagePress

In the screenshot above, I have mine set to 5.

Ah awesome. Didn’t see that one. Thanks.

You are welcome.

I’m trying to view a Collections page, but when I click on it a blank post is loaded with just the title?

Any tips on getting this to work. I have 2 x collections with 4 images in each.

The links from My Profile page are just called /collections/1/, /collections/2/, and don’t seem to use the Collection name? When I click the collection link eg: /collections/1/ it just takes me to /collections/ which is blank.

cheers Andrew

Did you correctly set it up in the Collections tab? You need a collections page and a viewer page.

I have update ImagePress and I can now see thumbnails loaded inside the Author tools which I couldn’t see before.

However, when I select “Set this image as main image?” nothing changes. The order on the page stays the same and the thumbnail doesn’t change either. There is no indication of anything changing in the Author tools either in terms of which is featured. There is sometimes a red border around the thumbnail, but when you change main image, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Isn’t there an alert popup? It should be. I will work on this for the next update, as I have some changes to how the Author Tools work.

Yeah, the popup appears. When you click yes it closes, but nothing changes so you don’t know if it’s actioned. All good. I will wait for your update to Author Tools.

I have added a small notification saying “Image featured successfully” but I am going to change that behaviour in the next version.

Does this plugin work with Buddypress? I’ve got a membership website, and I’d like to offer an image gallery where users can upload images. However I don’t want to have another set of avatars/profile pages/etc.

Let me know, I’m interested in purchasing if it meets my needs.

Profile pages and avatars are used via shortcodes, so you can skip creating any profile/portfolio/signup pages.

Thanks, is there a role or capability that has moderator privileges for the images uploaded?

ImagePress doesn’t have separate roles, it uses the default WordPress ones. All privileges are inherited from posts, so whoever can edit posts, can also edit images.

I noticed that on your website you mention that Cinammon User Profiles has stopped being developed because of the new Wordpress release.

This plugin uses a lot of Cinammon code. Should I be concerned that I’m wasting my time with this plugin or is this still being supported?

Would be great to know a roadmap before I buy Noir Theme or any other items for my project.

cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew, ImagePress is my most important plugin. I am working on extending the custom fields now. It’s not going anywhere, so do not worry. Cinnamon Users was initially integrated with ImagePress and has been modified and absorbed completely.

Great to know. Do you have a road map? Would love to see it if available, even if it’s rough.

I do have one but it’s internal and it’s bugs mostly. The actual roadmap includes better custom fields, improved uploader and improved author tools.

Bug: Author tools – Image with no keywords set.

When you use Author Tools to edit an image post and it has no keywords, the form input displays a value of “Array”.

cheers Andrew

Thanks for that, I’ll investigate and fix it.

Hey, I added a bunch of images. I then realised I needed to add a few more categories. So I added a new category, assigned some existing images to the new category.

Problem is the images don’t display when you filter using the new category.

However, if you upload a new image and assign to the new category, it works correctly.

cheers Andrew

That’s interesting. Have you assigned categories from WordPress dashboard? It should work. I will double check, and please, double check yourself. You can also send me an email (see my profile page, lower right contact form).

I have assigned categories to Imagepress > Image Categories, not Posts > Categories. Is this correct?

Yes, this is correct. I will be out of country for the next week, but we will fix everything when I return.

any plans to implement a lightbox gallery? i have the custom post type disabled so each image opens in a separate lightbox, but it is so boring for visitors to keep opening and closing each photo separately.

Did you try jQuery Colorbox with the latest update?

hi, I tried it now. very much better. Nearly there. Only one problem now is that all the 11 themes from Jquery Colorbox have distorted frames around the images. Is this an Imagepress issue or ColorBox issue or what? you can see the distortion here:https://wp.me/p6dzea-72S

This is a lightbox issue, it’s how it’s built. You need to contact the lightbox author for changes.

Great plugin, however I must say I’m really disappointed with the upload form. To me UX is the most important feature of any tool and the current solution is really lacking. Sure it works, but having two upload buttons is so off-putting as a user, and not having the ability to drag and drop images during upload (or once published) is really disappointing.

Do you plan on upgrading the upload/edit process and take advantage of newer techniques/tools? Really hoping the answer is yes. There is a lot I like about this plugin, but this is a deal-breaker for me due to my project requirements right now.

Thank you. Stay tuned then and ping me once in a while for updates – getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com.

btw, great work with CGCookie.

Hi, I’ve just purchased your plugin and I’m trying to get everything working.

Using the short code [imagepress-add-bulk] doesn’t display anything except an error that says “You have reached the maximum number of images allowed.”

I can’t find any settings that allow me to increase a number of images allowed.

If I upload images one at a time with the shortcode [imagepress-add], the uploads work. I currently have 4 in a gallery/category.

I was hoping/assuming the [imagepress-add-bulk] would allow users to upload more than one image at a time. But currently that short code isn’t displaying anything.

Any advice? Thanks.

I know about your issue, the field is not updated but the upload works.

Initially, the bulk uploader plugin was only one field and you could select multiple images, but people wanted to add categories and titles and descriptions which was not possible with multiple images.

So, I could add a second bulk uploader shortcode to allow for multiple images, with no possibility of setting a title or a description.

I’ve found another plugin which is perfect for my front-end uploading needs. I probably won’t be using Image Press now as the upload feature was the main draw card.

Good luck and thanks for the replies.

You’re welcome! Feel free to check ImagePress once in a while to see what new features are being added.

I keep getting “You have reached the maximum number of images allowed.” error when trying view the published post with [imagepress-add] shortcode inserted. However, when I click “preview post” from wp dashboard, the post preview actually lets me upload the image, however the input fields are pre-filled with my (admin) name and email. If I manually remove the preview part from posts url and load it just as a regular post, I get “You have reached the maximum number of images allowed.” error even if I am currently logged in as an admin. I have already set the 9999 limit for all users in “upload” tab. The actual desired effect is for any visitor of the blog to be able to freely upload an image without any registration whatsoever. I am aware that this was possible as of version ~5 and witnessed the functionality in other blog, this is what led me to purchase this plugin – it is the exact desired functionality, however, as described above, I struggle to make it function properly. Would really appreciate some guidance on this.

Can you contact me via email so I can access your site?

Message has been sent.

I have fixed it and replied!

Hello everybody! I have a small problem with the display of photos in the gallery… 1. In the gallery with pictures of users does not show how many comments there are, how many there are likes and how views have. 2. When I click on a photo of the user, the image does not load a new page in order to be liked or commented on other.

I use Photocrati Theme 4.9.3 here’s my page: http://artframe35.com/imagepress/

Can you tell me how to set it up to Correct this problem?

Thank you in advance

Did you read the documentation?

Hi, can I integrate this with Userpro? (As in use Userpro over this plugins profile, but keep all the front end user gallery features)

Hi Billy. It is possible, yes. You would need to use 2 shortcodes, one for ImagePress and one for collections. You can find both shortcodes in the Dashboard section of the plugin.

It’s basically an [imagepress author="x"] where x is the author ID. The same for collections.

Hi, thank you for those, let’s say I’m user A, and i’m looking at user B profile with the “[imagepress author]” shortcode, does this display the uploads that user B has uploaded? (I don’t want to have to manually put each author ID, is it possible to pull the ID automatically from the users profile page] By the way, I’m really liking your plugin, nice job :) (why hasn’t this got more sales ??)

Hi Billy,

I’m working on getting more sales ;)

Yes, you can use [imagepress-show author="43"] for example and you can embed the shortcode in a PHP code:

[php]echo do_shortcode('[imagepress-show author="' . $id . '"]'); [/php] where $id is a variable holding the user ID and built into your theme.

My uploaded images won’t display with the [imagepress-show] tag. It says there are no images to display. I turned on the error reporting and got this message.

Notice: Undefined variable: display in /mywebsitepath/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/imagepress.php on line 1592

Any help much appreciated.

Hi, I have fixed that notice, but that’s not the cause of your issue. Do you have published images? Can you see them in your WordPress admin area?

Does this work with any theme?

If you upload an image as featured image (or a cover), yes.

I am looking at adding this to an existing site under a specific category with sub categories – IE:

PHOTOS - Homes - Gardens - Cities - etc…

Users would contribute content only to that category. I am using a social login script as well. That will not create any issues will it?

Thanks for the super speedy responses!

That would work great. I am using social login on another site and it works.

I am concerned buying this for a client since you ditched development on Cinnamon Boards after a short while citing ill health. How do I know this is going to be supported?

The issue with most plugins on CodeCanyon is that you don’t know.

However, Cinnamon Boards was doomed from the start, as the approach was flawed.

ImagePress has been around for years, and I have one dedicated theme up and selling – Noir UI – and a second one in the works. ImagePress is one of my 3 flagship plugins and I will work on it for at least several years.
