You are welcome!
Where can I download a version 6.2.5? In themeforest it is still 6.2.4.
I have updated it yesterday, so try again now. Or wait until tonight, when I’ll release an updated version with better help for Collections.
Thank you
Cheers!
Can i Use my own portfolio with it ? I simply want the filtering and sorting
Unfortunately no. It only works with the image custom post types.
I’m now realizing that in order for someone to upload a pic, they must be a registered user/contributor on the site. So in order for someone to register to upload, it looks like I should create a new page with the shortcode [cinnamon-login]? If this is correct, I’m having an issue. All I see on the page is the shortcode [cinnamon-login]...
Yes, it’s true. And you need to activate the login module from the Settings tab.
your cgbutterfly theme is available for sale?
Yes, it’s the Noir UI theme – https://getbutterfly.com/marketplace/noir-ui-theme-wordpress/
I think you are working on it.So it will look like as it’s looking like now?
I think you are working on it currently. Will it look like its coming on CGButterfly?
It looks exactly like it is. Today I added the top section with the 5 articles, which will be available in version 3.1.0.
Hi. I want to use this as the main image manager with BuddyPress / bbpress. What I want to do is
1. any registered user clicks image upload button or goes to a URL and can upload their own images into their own folders. 2. when you visit a users profile you can see their uploaded images there 3. a single page where you can view all galleries / folders which people have made. View by most voted or newest 4. (I understand this is more complex) button on WYSIWYG to add image can open a popup with their folders/gallery in it so they can choose an image to add to a bbpress post or BuddyPress post and insert it
I want to try to replicate just the basics of a facebook style image manager per user. so they can upload simply and organise their images into albums / galleries / folders and a simple way for this to be added to a post within BuddyPress or bbpress.
They should be able to add any tags/categories themselves
number 4 I understand will likely need some javascript to open the required page and show the results then pass back some info to insert the required posts but I think I can find a way to do this if I can get help from yourself with it.
Finally the cinnamon profile. what is its purpose? is it required when I am using BuddyPress profiles?
If not what is the shortcode I would need to add into a new BuddyPress tab for a user to see their own images when they log in to edit their profile and for others to see that users images when they visit that users profile.
Hi.
Number 1 is doable.
Number 2 depends on the Cinnamon profile, so it wouldn’t work with your BuddyPress/bbPress profile, unless you modify the source code.
Number 3 is doable.
Number 4 is not doable, as all images are uploaded to Media Library, regardless of the author, so all of them are in the same place.
You don’t need the profile feature if you have BuddyPress/bbPress.
If you want a shortcode to display user images, that would be [imagepress-show author=”34”] where 34 is the author ID. You would need to make this shortcode dynamic in order to get the current user ID.
ok. so there is not any way to ahve individual galleries per user that they control? As thats kinda crucial for me really.
For the profile feature what i was meaning within buddypress is that you ahve an album option that shows the users folders/galleries/collection/whatever they are claled. i call them albums. within the buddypress profile. so if i make a new tab in the profile and add the [imagepress-show author=”$current page author id”] then that should work (obviously with the correct variable for the author id)
The author profile would work like that, yeah. And users have individual galleries based on their author ID.
My theme doesnt have a single.php. What can I do to activate?
Create one. Do you have a singular.php file? If not, get a standard one from another theme or get a proper theme.
I’m using thesis theme
I created a single.php file but now, when I use the shortcode [imagepress-add] to show the submission form, all I see on the page is “You have reached the maximum number of images allowed. (2/)”
Okay, so it works. You need to go to the Users section in your ImagePress plugin and set up the upload limit. Just go with 9999 if you don’t need a limit.
I will also investigate the Thesis theme.
To clarify, do you mean that I should go to imagepress > imagepress settings > Users Tab? I’ve don that and I dont see an option for “upload limit”. I do see an option for “Number of images”, which I’ve changed that to 9999 but still didnt solve the problem. I still see “You have reached the maximum number of images allowed. (2/)” on my page.
Sorry, my mistake, the Upload tab.
Hello I bought this plugin and also the noir theme.
2 Questions: Do i have to make an additional payment for your support section, because i got no login after buying the theme.
Is there a demo import for the noir theme available??
Thank you!
What do you mean you got no login? Also, there is no demo import, but it’s a good idea, I’ll create one. Contact me via email and I will help you set up everything.
When I look at the gallery page on a phone, it wraps the icons at the bottom of the image. Check out: http://cosplaysocialcams.com/anime. It looks fine on a computer but looks really bad on a phone.
I am working on the responsiveness. An update version will be available by the end of this week.
Hi there, We cant really get the notifications to work. We can click the little bell, and we can see the number of notifications on the bell, but when you click it, and it expands, no notifications is to see? Can you help us out here?
Hi, contact me via email and I’ll help you. You would need to create a temporary admin user for me so I can check.
I just upgraded to the latest version(6.0.3) and when I upload a new image it creates a new category (it is a number) and ignored the category I put in the shortcode: [imagepress-add category=”anime”]
I upgraded to the latest version(6.0.3) and when I add a new image it creates a new category and ignores the shortcode I used: [imagepress-add category=”anime”]. I went back to the previous version and it is doing the same thing. Everytime I upload a new image it creates a new category and assigns it to that. The new category is a number. Help please.
That’s interesting, I’ll check and fix it today.
It’s fixed, version 6.0.4 should be available tonight or tomorrow morning.
Awsome, thanks
You’re welcome!
Good Day, it looks like im getting an error during the activation of the plugin, Fatal error: Cannot redeclare AlreadyLiked() (previously declared in /home3/xxxxxx/public_html/lefttowaste/wp-content/plugins/waxom-core/post-likes/post-like.php:153) in /home3/xxxxxx/public_html/lefttowaste/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/modules/mod-likes.php on line 139
Im using the Waxom template I purchased here on Envato
Hi, apparently we (me and the Waxom author) both made the same mistake. I’ll rename the AlreadyLiked() function in the next update.
Functions should have unique names, such as imagepress_alreadyLiked() or something similar to avoid conflicts with other themes and plugins.
lol nice no worries. Is this the only instance of the named function, I can go in and modify so I can install.
BTW thanks for the quick response
Well, it’s not the only instance, I think it’s used in one more place. I’ll have to check tonight. You’re welcome.
so I changed AlreadyLiked to ImagePress_AlreadyLiked in the mod-likes.php and had to also modify another function frontEndUserLikes. Made the changes and the plugin installed. I looked for other places where the function could be called but didnt locate them so let me know if you find any. Thanks again.
I will check and release the updated version tomorrow. Thanks for the frontEndUserLikes() function, I’ll replace it, as well.
Version 6.0.3 has been uploaded to CodeCanyon, it should be live this afternoon or evening.
Pre-Sale question: Is this plug-in usable with any theme? Is it possible to use the database for internal purposes only, meaning only admins can use the database?
Yes, it is possible to use the plugin with any theme.
The plugin uses shortcodes, so you can definitely use it for internal purposes only.
Thanks
You are welcome!
Am I able to make this so that a watermark could be added to the photo the user uploads?
Not via ImagePress, but there are some free plugins out there which allow watermarking all uploaded images.
I’m currently working on a development version of the site that I will be publishing in the future. So far, I think that ImagePress is great, but it also has some pitfalls.
1. HTML4 Image Uploading needs to be a thing. The old POST method of uploading can be slow, and it would be nice if we had HTML4/AJAX Image Uploading because it meant that the person could upload 10 MB per Image, since each file would be a single request (rather than a 10 MB limit overall).
2. There needs to be a button to “Mass Approve” on the Images in the Admin.
3. I’m having an issue with the Image Hooks for viewing an image. Its producing an infinite redirect loop. I haven’t nailed it down yet, so I don’t know what the reason is. I had to switch to view image rather than view single image in the settings. I may just give up and write a lightbox (similar to Facebook) for the image clicks instead.
Hi, have you purchased the plugin from CodeCanyon?
1. It is planned for version 7 (I assume you mean HTML5, not HTML4) – check the issue tracker – https://github.com/wolffe/imagepress/issues
2. That’s a WordPress feature and it’s called Bulk Publish. It’s already there.
3. Try to check your .htaccess file and resave your Permalinks.
Yes, my supervisor did. Yeah, I meant HTML 5. Awesome that it will be soon. I do not have a htaccess file (windows)
You will need the equivalent of mod_rewrite in a .htaccess file. I think it’s called web.config on IIS (Windows) servers.
So, the solution wasn’t anything to do with mod_rewrite (or the Windows equivalent), but the issue that my Website (in general settings) was not all lowercase. Go figure. Anyways, solved, looks good. Working on modifying the template, and it should be good to go.
Yeah, Windows is known for its case sensitivity. Anyway, I’m glad you solved it.
Hello, I use Buddypress and I can not create the edit profile page. Like this page https://posterspy.com/profile/
You need to use only one profile page and deactivate the other. So, if you’re using BuddyPress, you have to deactivate the profile page and use the ImagePress shortcode.
What exactly do you mean by “can not create”? Did you place the shortcode on the page? Do you get an error?
Another problem, the link on the images towards the UPLOAD directory and not to the single-image page
Solved for the link on image, for the profile page, this link is ok : http://domain.com/profile/pset/ but this link wrong : http://domain.com/portfolio/pset/
how to use the second link?
Thanks
Check the Installation tab on your ImagePress settings screen. You need to add some lines to your .htaccess file and also activate the hub from the Settings tab.
- BEGIN ImagePress Author Rewrite RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !dev\.3dvf.com RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ([.]+)\.3dvf.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ ?author_name=%1
- END ImagePress Author Rewrite
Another question : how to add the avatar of the user in ip_box_top like Poster Spy ?
Do you have wildcard DNS active? This is a subdomain called *.yourdomain.com with no redirection. You can set this up in your cPanel or ask your host to do it. This is for the portfolio feature.
In order to add the avatar, you need to change the main imagepress.php file. It requires some HTML changes, some PHP and some CSS styling. I am not available for custom coding, though.
Hello, I do not want to use the HUB and sub domains. I want a url mydomain.com/portfolio/Nickname but only mydomain.com/profile/nickname works !!
Ex : http://dev.3dvf.com/profile/pset/ and http://dev.3dvf.com/portfolio/pset/
For the avatar problem solved
Oh, I see. You don’t need those lines in your .htaccess file, then. If you change the profile slug to /portfolio/, make sure you go to Settings -> Permalinks and click on Save Changes.
Ok perfect thanks you
You are welcome!
I m using the Bridge theme and when I look at the gallery page on my mobile phone the image is so small you cannot see it and the comments/likes… are wrapped s it looks really bad. What do I need to change to make it look better on a phone.
I tried the suggestion on this site: https://getbutterfly.com/imagepress-tutorial-how-to-customize-your-single-image-template/
But it did not change the look of the image view page. I want to add social buttons and some other stuff like some of your examples. But I cannot get the layout to change. Help please.
Can I see your page? You will probably have to modify some of your theme’s CSS.
Can I send you an email. The site is not live yet and we do not want to announce anything to the public.
Sure. getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com
I added this shortcode to one of my pages [imagepress-show]. When I go to the page it does not show any of the images I uploaded. It just has Search by author or title. How do I get my images to display?
Can you see the images in your backend? Do all images have a featured images? Can I see your page?
I have the Dynamix theme with Buddypress and bbPress. Is this compitable with these? Will it integrate with the them and will logins integrate?
Yes, it will integrate.
One more question:
I am using the Jupiter theme. Is it possible to have the images in the gallery open a lightbox when clicked? Currently, when I click on an image in a gallery it opens the image in its own window…
If you install a lightbox plugin, it should work.
ahh. I was hoping Jupiter’s built in light box would work.
Do you have a light box plugin that you recommend?
First of all, I recommend jQuery Colorbox 4. It’s a free plugin. However, can I see your site with a working lightbox image? This way I could add a filter in ImagePress.
Sure. I hadn’t actually used the feature anywhere else on the site so I created a page for you. Check out http://pbc3.dreamhosters.com/test/
Got it, it’s Prettyphoto. I will add a filter to ImagePress and release an update.
Thank you! So should I wait on that or go with the jQuery? I probably won’t be going live with this site for about a month…
Well, then you can wait until this weekend when I’ll release a new version.
wonderful! thank you!
The fix is done, an updated version is coming today or tomorrow.
Thank you! Looking forward to it!
Can you contact me via email, I can send you the new version before the official release. Use the contact box in the bottom right – http://codecanyon.net/user/butterflymedia
Absolutely! Your customer service is off the charts! Thanks!
Thank you very much!
