Hello, I allow myself to bother about your plugin “Hide my WP” . Since its installation, I see myself forced to uninstall it because it greatly slows down my site and changes its CSS . I have the theme ” Avada ” . Is this a compatibility issues ? Thanks for your help. Best regards.
PS: Sorry for my english, i ‘m french …: /

Hi, please follow these steps:
- goto HMWP Start Tab, select “Medium Privacy – More Compatibility” scheme and save the settings
- goto Permalink & URLs tab and set “rename plugins” option to “all plugins”
Note: Assuming that it’s WP single site and Apache server. Your site’s htaccess file should be writeable. Your new login URL will be www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=1234
If it’s still the issue then please generate debug report from HMWP start tab and post it in our support forum (http://support.wpwave.com/) as private reply.

Question. Whenever someone right clicks on my website > inspects element > sources > will it still show WP etc?
Hi, HMWP will hide all default wordpress paths like /wp-content/plugins, /wp-content/uploads, wp-content/themes, wp-includes, wp-admin, etc from the page source so that wordpress is not detected in your site.
You can check our demo WP site http://hide-my-wp.wpwave.com/
Hi support team! I have an issue with your plugin, and let a message on your forum, regarding google map in homepage and popular listing (they don’t work at all, same with all compatibilities setting). This is URGENT! I need a fix today as I launch my website tomorrow!! Could you please take a look and answer, to fix this? Thanks for your support!
Hi, we’ve replied to your support ticket.
plz check asap my ticket i have big problem
Hi, we’ve replied to your support ticket.
I’ve followed the instructions that you listed above for another user to change the theme directory but it still does not work. There still is no option to change the theme name.
After these settings, theme name will be changed to “skin”, and you can change it to any name from HMWP permalinks & urls tab.
There is no such option under this tab. Can’t you just out the option to change the theme name back? I only noticed this after I updated the plugin recently. Everything changed every time the plugin is updated. The main and only reason I really only use it is to change the theme name and if I can’t do that and change it to what I want the plugin becomes very useless to me. But again this option you mentioned is not even there and I have the most recent version. I did perform the steps as you had mentioned as well.
Hi, please check this screenshot – http://screencast.com/t/JnqaT2xjvVH
Also, let us know your website’s wp-admin login details as private reply in our support forum (http://support.wpwave.com/), so that we can set it up for you.
hello, i just bought this plugin, once installed there are no settings displaying
Hi, do you mean HMWP settings page? Is it totally blank? Can you please generate debug report (from HMWP start tab) and post it in our support forum (http://support.wpwave.com/) as private reply.
its ok now thnx, seems that was a browser issue, is fixed now
Good day! If that mean, after i am disable plugin and set default options, i am loose all positions in search engines ? Like images loose they links for example ?
Hi, please check this FAQ regarding SEO – http://codecanyon.net/item/hide-my-wp-no-one-can-know-you-use-wordpress/4177158/faqs/16131
what about image seo ? if i change main image folder path?
Even if you change the image path, say from www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/1/test.jpg to www.yourdomain.com/file/2016/1/test.jpg, the previous path will still be valid and available.
Ok i am understand about images !
Also WP Rocket good work for me with Hide my wp ! If i am not change next lines in permaliks url: New theme path, New style name, New wp-includes path, New plugin path (must be empty) and js and css minify work !
Maybe this helps somebody)
So after installing HMWP and setting it up, everything looks fine when I check the code, but sites like wpthemedetector ca still detect that my website is using Wordpress and that it’s actually also using the HMWP plugin. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of using your plugin?
Hi, which detector did you actually use to test? And do let us know your website url please.
using the plugin to replace url, and it does for plugins like this wp-content/plugins to extensions/ but when using it for wp-content/themes = templating/ it doesn’t work. what’s wrong I remember before it used to work. Is it because I’m using and activated the child theme of a theme?
Doesn’t work using parent theme also. Is this plugin also made to change the url -> wp-content/themes to some thing like templating/. If so to make it work what all the precautions or practices should I follow to avoid site stripping?
Hi, don’t use replace url option to replace default WP paths.
Please follow these steps:
- goto HMWP Start Tab, select “Medium Privacy – More Compatibility” scheme and save the settings
- goto Permalink & URLs tab and set “rename plugins” option to “all plugins”
Note: Assuming that it’s WP single site and Apache server. Your site’s htaccess file should be writeable. Your new login URL will be www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=1234
I would like to achieve this for themes path i.e wp-content/themes to some thing like “templating/”, is this also possible via your above said method (perma links renaming all plugins way)?
Yes, do follow the steps as mentioned above and then you can change the path names as required from HMWP Permalinks & URLs tab (you’ll see the options to change various WP paths)
Does changing the paths also involves moving the directories in the direction of path too? I mean does changing the paths also needs the directories to be moved to the place associated with the path address?

You don’t need to physically move or create the directories.
Hi,
I am using the plugin and have set up everything as instructed, but the wp-login.php is still showing.
can you please provide me with a private contact so I can send you the URL, I don’t want to share the URL here.
Many thanks,
Hi, please post the details in our support forum (http://support.wpwave.com/).

Hi, i have 2 issues if this plugin works fine with marketplace websites? 2nd could i have a demo version to test before purchasing? thanks
Hi, HMWP works with all wordpress websites. Sorry there is no demo version available, but you can check our demo WP site http://hide-my-wp.wpwave.com/
why my theme developer told me that plugin isn’t safe for my theme? is this plugin do any changes of the DB or Tables? or affect on cron jobs?
Hi, not sure why he told that it isn’t safe, but IT IS safe! It does add a table to database but doesn’t make any changes to existing data, doesn’t affect cron jobs, and doesn’t physically change the wordpress paths. Also, you can deactivate the plugin anytime (like any other plugin) without affecting your site.
in your demo i found that ajax print 0 so how if iam using ajax to login via social media it will work or need special setup? other thing for wp-login and wp-register could be changed to login register only or no?
The ajax login will work, even social media logins do work fine. The URLs like /wp-admin and /wp-login.php can be hidden and make it accessible only with secret code like /wp-login.php?secret=1234
You can also change /wp-admin path name to say /cpanel

Hi,
Im using your plugin and using W3 plugin done all the below but still no joy
Does it compatible with W3 Total Cache? Yes, it’s. But if you want to enable Minify module you need to update to v2.1+ and follow below instruction to let W3TC load new URLs.
Go to wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/define.php and replace* this line: function w3_normalize_file_minify($file) { with function w3_normalize_file_minify000($file) { You may also need to disable ‘Rewrite URL structure’ from Minify page and finally ‘Empty All Caches’ to see the result.
any more ideas please?
Thanks
Hi, have you followed all the steps as mentioned above? If still the issue then please generate debug report (from HMWP start tab) and post it in our support forum (http://support.wpwave.com/) as private reply.
Only getting one reply per day in support forum. Support help is seriously lacking. Is there more than one person helping out in the forum? At this rate it will never get my issue fixed.
Hi, replied twice. Please check the support ticket. Sorry for the delay.

Just a quick question. Can this plugin remove WP version from source code? For example, can it remove the WP version number from RSS, Meta generator tags, scripts, and stylesheet to help with obfuscation?
Yes, it can, Please let us know your website url,
Ok, thanks. I have not implemented the plugin yet. Just a quick check so I don’t search for another plugin for that purpose.
Hi, for Nginx server and WP single site please follow these steps:
- goto HMWP >> ‘Start’ Tab >> ‘Medium Pripacy – More Compatibility’ scheme >> click ‘Save Settings’
- In Start tab you should see Nginx Configuration button. If you don’t see this button, add &nginx_config=1 to HMWP settings page URL to see Nginx rewrite rules. For example: http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=hide_my_wp&nginx_config=1- Now add those lines (rewrite rules) to your Nginx configuration file. It’s usually located in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf or /etc/nginx/conf/nginx.conf or /etc/nginx/sites-available/domainname.com
- restart nginx server
For more details, refer to the documentation available within plugin folder.
