Wow, our entire design across an entire multisite network, changed due to change of margins in 4.9! Thanks a lot
Hello, we have introduced more proper way on how margins are applied ensuring there is no need to always configure negative margins and so on. The new mechanism allows working with section type sites easy as well. Yet there are few changes that should be made if you previously changed those values. Understand your issue and also these mini-hacks users had to do before this is why we got our hands into this.

Hello,
Is the newest v4.9 version compatibile with Yoast SEO as promised here: http://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-page-builder-for-wordpress/242431/comments?page=528#comment_11759537 ?
Unfortunately the visual editor doesn’t load for me when Yoast SEO (3.0.6) is activated. I still have the same js error as on VC 4.8.1.
Hello, yes, new version is fully compatible with latest Yoast – we have spent significant amount of time working on this compatibility and ensuring that both plugins work like a charm. If there are some problems – please open support ticket at support.wpbakery.com so we can look into this for you.

Hello,
Thank you! It seems that the conflict comes out only when I’m enqueing colorpicker in admin area:
wp_enqueue_script('colorpicker');and only with Yoast SEO activated. I’ll find some solution for my theme on my own, anyway it could be something that you would like to look at.
The new update just ruined 3 months of work… There is a top padding of 35px for all columns and a bottom margin of 35px for all elements. How can I remove those? Setting a 0px margin for columns doesn’t work. The only way is to hard code the plugin, which I don’t want to do. Why did you decide to set those margins? Over 1M websites are using Visual Composer, just like you say in your presentation, so right now there 1M broken websites…
Hello, the mechanism of margins is not improved and applied correctly, with new apply mechanism it is now more meaningful and easier to work with section type sites as well which was painful before. In order to remove margins you can look into Custom CSS.

I understand it’s supposed to be easier to use, however, I’m talking about the changes I need to make to all the themes. Same goes to all authors here who use VC bundled. Hardcoding with custom CSS is definitely not an option, because many of our users prefer the un-altered plugin.
Anyhow, since I don’t see any workaround to this problem, I’ll go on and make the changes to all elements, so my question now is: are you going to stick with this change or is there any possibility that you will revert to how it was before?
Hello,
can I change CSS only for tablets or mobiles on each row? If yes, How? I understand there is responsive option tab but that is not enough for me. The VC is integrated in the theme I bought. I have 2 rows 2 columns no padding images. Now I want to change the look for portrait tablet to make it showing 1 column and 4 rows full width pictures Can you tell me how can I achieve that?
Thank you.
Hello, yes, you can use media queries to control it, yet it will require coding skills to do it so if you do not have such skills you should look into hiring developer for it.

hi, how can I deactivate the visual composer for a specific page? thank you
Hello, if you do not use Visual Composer on this page it won’t be available, but if you are talking about editing option – right now you can disable VC for certain post type, but not specific page, post or custom post.

Hi there,
Visual composer allows filtering by Category or Tag, and now is also integrated with Woo commerce.
I’d like to be able to filter by Custom Fields, and to be able to choose more than one filter at the same time.
Can you suggest any add-ons, plugins, solutions, workarounds or advice to achieve this, or do I need to create such a page without VC?
Many thanks
Hello, can not name any addon that offers such option – you should look into vc.wpbakery.com/addons to see if there are any solution. Also I will add it to our Backlog for consideration for future releases. Thanks for your request.

CSS validation
Hey, guys we love the plugin and used it for a few months and on a number of websites, however the one issue i have is the CSS validation, is this something that you guys could look into as its a bit of a pain having to validate it on every update
thats link to the report on our website where everything is clean bar JS composer.
could you sort this for the next update?
Hello, there are things that must be done that way and not other, for some reason validator does not like them. But I will ask our devs to check on validation.

Hi,
I’m using VC from a theme it’s packaged in. I found something odd (or maybe it’s on purpose). For the element “Single Image”, if you specify the size in pixels (800×800), the title parameter is shown (if existing), if you specify it otherwise like “large”, it won’t show even if it exists.
Could you check, fix?
Thx!
Hello, did not experienced such problem on our side. Please make sure to use latest version of VC and if problem still exists ask your theme author to look into this or he can contact us so we can investigate this issue.

Hi. We are using 4.8.1. Will check when we update with 4.9 and let you know!
We are running 4.9 now, but get the exact same thing. Here are the code for the exact same picture with the only difference being the “size”, in one case we set 800×800 and in the other one we set thumbnail.
You can see that with the thumbnail value, the title is missing. And for the width 800×800, the title is there + it doesn’t take advantage of the new WP responsive image code.

I need to “push” and “pull” columns as column ordering in Bootstrap, noticed there was a same request a year ago, any progress?
Hello, right now I can not confirm this yet, but I will raise this question in our team meeting to see our progress/plans on this one. Thanks for pushing us.

In Design Options, entering a negative Margin Top say “-2rem”, it will be changed to “-2px” after saving, any workaround?
Hello, right now we allow adding only px values, to add other values use extra class name and then refer to it from Custom CSS.

Are you sure? I have rems for Margin Left/Right/Bottom, all work well, except Margin Top, also a positive rem works with Margin Top, only negative does not
Hi, I have VC as part of The7 theme. Thanks for all your help thus far. I’ve inserted Revolution Slider element, but there is no option for how to align it. It is automatically centred – how can I alight it left? Thanks again
Hello, we have just mapped Revolution Slider within VC and do not add any parameters to it, so you should look into extending position via Custom CSS.

Question before purchase. I read few months back that post category and author can’t be added and display in post grid teaser. Is this updated or fixed with new version? Thanks!
Hello, right now it is possible to make customization via our API to add those elements. But we have already scheduled these tasks on our side and they will be available in version 4.10.

I bought a license and have been updating it as the updates become available, but now it says I suddenly don’t have a license and need to buy one? I only have the plugin installed on one site!
Hello, if you log into Support Portal support.wpbakery.com do you see your license? If for some reason it is not there please send your license key via private message so we can check it out.

It’s working now. I deleted the plugin and installed a fresh copy and it picked up my license info. Thank you.
do you have any demos showing how to do equal height? iv selected it, but the 2 columns still don’t become equal. Also, I’ve put 0 padding between columns, yet there is a gap
Hello, right now you can check vcpreview.com section Layout and Text to see equal height columns and gap. All controls are available in General tab of Row Element. Today we will also upload and publish tutorial on how to work with it. And within few days some new demos should appear on vcpreview.com as well. Please follow our resources such as Facebook to get updates once it is done.

ok im looking for equal height columns that are full width with the text inside being in the grid. right now the text stretches full width too.
how do change what this says when it outputs it in source code: <meta name=”generator” content=”Powered by Visual Composer – drag and drop page builder
Hello, this is default meta data added once you use VC. There is no snippet to remove it, but of course you can make your own customization to remove it, yet as this is customization it must be done on your own or by hiring developer.

I am a developer. These meta tags can be changed easily by modifying he source file. That is what i am asking you. Where is the source file?
We’re noting several comments about padding and margins being stripped with the new update. We have over 100 pages in use, many using custom margins and padding via VC. Will you please let us know if this new update removes such margin and padding settings? We are concerned we may have to, in essence, re-create countless rows, text boxes, etc. in our site.
We’re asking in your comment section because we don’t want to give all the access your regular support is requiring, including signing in with our Envato account, giving access to certain Envato account information like account balance, what plugins we’ve purchased, etc. Why do you need that? Or is there another way to gain access to support?
Thanks.
Hello, we have introduced margin and padding changes which will be applied automatically – new standards has proper implementation and there is way easier to work with section style pages now. Some margins may have change due to update which should be reviewed and aligned.
As for support portal – we do not receive balance or any other information (like your purchases) – we receive only information which is necessary to validate your purchase of Visual Composer (license key tied with your Envato account). Also mechanism of activating VC is now changed to interact with Support Portal so you do not have to deal with such silly things like API key. With introduction of Support Portal our only goal is to create easy to access mechanism for our customers and of course we respect your confidentiality and do not want to get any personal data of yours which we do not need.

So what you’re really saying is, “Yes, all of your custom margins are going to be messed up” correct? That’s dozens of pages of work, with multiple rows, columns, text boxes, etc., with custom margins and padding!!! Do you realize how long that will take to be “reviewed and aligned?” That’s a HUGE undertaking! Hours—if not days—of work! That’s extremely disappointing.
Next time you do something like this, I think it would show a bit more care for your customers to send out an email to us all saying, “this is a big change, prepare yourself before making this update!”
Forgive my ignorance, but I don’t quite understand what the WP Bakery Support Portal is all about. It says:
WPBakery Support Portal will be able to:
1) View your Envato Account username 2) View your email address 3) View your name, location and account balance 4) List purchases you’ve madeDoes WP Bakery (you) get access to that, or is it trying to say that Envato will see that info but WP Bakery won’t? Because I don’t think a plugin creator should be able to see #3 and #4. In any case, the page (http://bit.ly/1U3V3AY) is confusing.
I’m disturbed and disappointed that you have NOT replied to this. Why are you requiring account balance and list of purchases made? You are the ONLY plugin author doing so. This is completely unacceptable. Please explain.
And also… the margins “fix” is not a “fix” but a “break,” and utterly disappointing. From the comments I’m seeing, many feel the same way. And your explanation of it is cryptic at best. One minute our sites are set up correctly, the next they are all thrown off kilter. This, too, is unacceptable. You have us at your mercy because we rely on this plugin completely for our site, but it doesn’t excuse this (for some of us) brutal change in code. This will cost us hundreds of dollars in wages to fix.
Hello, I just purchased, but my license code does not make it into the WPBakery system. Trying to validate on my website results in an ‘undefined’ error, and trying to log into WPBakery Support results in a no license message.
Hello, please try once again – it sometimes takes around 30 minutes to link Envato and Support Portal through their API. If the problem still exists – please send over your license key via private message so we can look into this on our side.

???
Is possible to have a reply ? Yes or no? Is not hard question.
We’re doing image links on a site that changes structure quite a bit. I’ve been told by another plugin dev (for image overlays in VC) that you guys use absolute URLs for links and not page IDs (even from the link to page search box) So when our team changes a parent page’s slug/URL all our image links break that point to its children. Any tips on that or hopefully plans to include a link by page ID within VC?
Thanks!
Hello, we use WordPress approach here, but have plans looking into URL question to make it more flexible. As for transfering pages for now it is recommended to look into migration plugin that handles URLs as well.

Sorry your response doesn’t make sense to me.. what’s a migration plugin?
Maybe you misunderstood. We link to a page from an image in VC. then when that page’s URL changes, the link breaks. Would it be possible to use page IDs instead of absolute URLs?
