Hello, the issue could be due to addon or theme elements which were added to VC are not compatible. I would suggest contacting your theme author and I am sure this can be solved asap.

In Visual Composer we created a button and in “button settings” added a Link and set the Target to “New Window”. However the link to the pdf does not open in a new window when clicked on. Is there a work around for this? Visual Composer came with our purchased theme.
Hello, just tried it on our side and could not replicate. Please make sure you have latest version of VC, if not, please do update. If the problem still exists you will need to ask your theme author to look into this as direct support is available for direct customers of VC, or you can consider purchasing direct license to access official support.

Hello, you should modify grid item template – in grid post item design under dropdown choose edit template. In grid builder change the color and save the template. Then change the template used in grid to the one you have just modified/created. As for read more change – you should look into PO MO files, but it is actually strange – maybe you have added MORE tag in your post? If so you should remove it as this could trigger the problem.

Hello, you can extend list of colors through our API – described at kb.wpbakery.com but take into account that you will need to have coding skills there. As for Load more button – please make sure you are using latest version – there is option to change text title there.
In default VC version there is no such element as video slider – it could be added to VC by your WP theme author so I would suggest talking with theme author directly. The same actually applies to 4th point – as this element is not VC element.

Hello, Visual Composer will wrap all existing content. For text it will be responsive, although you can switch it off. For complex elements it is not possible for VC to set them responsive, but VC itself has a huge list of elements which are responsive. As in general – if you theme is coded according to WordPress codex and has content area defined there should be no problems to use Visual Composer.

Using VC buttons the size of the button is influenced by the length of the text in the button. Is it possible to get the size of the button all equal independent of text in button (e.g. a button with icon and 4 letters has to be as wide as a button with iconand 6 letters all other settings font/size etc the same)
I used custom css using “width 150px” but, once the text “fits” the width seems to have no effect and buttons differ in width.

Just to be sure: you mean max width in combination with CSS code defining width? (just ‘full width’ is not what I want as it makes the button as width as the column. I want to define the width of the button (inc. its text) myself so that I can make a button (e.g.) containing an icon and a word of four letters as wide as the width of a button containing an icon and a word of 6 letters)
Hey there, quick question regarding the post grid element: I was playing around with the demo and saw it is possible to edit the existing grid templates on my own. Is there any way to show the post’s category as well? I did not find any option to enable it when editing the template.
Hello, right now there is no such element in Grid Builder, but we have plans to extend it. As for now you can add it by yourself if you have coding skills – please check our kb at kb.wpbakery.com on how to interact with VC API.

Hi!
I want to check in on a feature request I have had from before. One can do just awesome things with visual composer – in the content area.
That makes me really lack not being able to style the single blog post pages (the wordpress loop), and to style single product pages (like in woocommerce).
If you could extend visual composer to beeing able to do this too, it would be beyond awesome!
Do you have any such plans in a not too distant future?

Hello, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Right now you can modify single blog post and single product page. For single product page VC is allowed in description area as this in Woo Commerce is called content part. I believe you were also talking about category pages – we are looking into this direction, the current issue is that they do not have content area which restricts us, but as I said – we are searching for solution.

For blog I meant styling the whole wordpress loop also, and designing where to have date, author, tags, categories, image – and give it a style. And same for woocommerce single product page, design cart icon, share buttons, product tags, product categories for example.

Hello, 1) did not really get the point – could you elaborate in more details 2) the carousel element is outdated and we recommend relying on grid element as it is possible easily replicate carousel style look.

2. You can set only one image or one post to display at the time. Set arrows or pointers for rotation, also set auto-rotate. Also it is possible to control in and out animations.

After installing/updating the plugin, the following screen will ALWAYS be a welcome screen to Visual Composer. I’ve mentioned it before that this is really getting annoying. Especially with the latest updates of Visual Composer that force themes to update due to security reasons, this really slows down our update workflow. Please, when a theme ships with VC, please, disable this useless screen. We don’t have to be reminded how great VC every update!

Just adding a +1 to existing comments/feedback to add the ability to PULL columns as well as push/offset them. I see that it has been requested here but not sure what the outcome is and if it is likely to be implemented in a future release.
It’s a very important next step with the advent and growing support of flexbox to be able to re-order columns.

I have question related to shortcodes that VC plugs into the editor: 1. IF at a certain point I do not want to use VC anymore (or because my new theme won’t let it work), can I export all content Without dealing with a shortcode nightmare?
I’m really afraid to have 1,000’s of pages with shortcode and not be able to grab the raw content for import/export.

I put a bunch of urls in pages using visual composer, we are changing domains, is there an easy way to change all the URLs without opening every page and doing it manually? Can I run a find and replace in the Wordpress database? Where does visual composer store its info? (The theme I purchased came with visual composer.)
Hello, there is no such mechanism in Visual Composer itself so I would check different plugins. Visual Composer information is shared the native way. But for future i would suggest not to use full url if pointing to your site, instead use relative url.

How do I access the frontend editor?? I cannot find the button, mine only says “classic” and “backend” and I just downloaded the update - are you holding out on us because we bought it before you jacked up the price??
Hello, please check if you have Frontend enabled under Visual Composer Settings User Role Manager. If not, activate it. If there are still problems it could be so that your WP theme author disabled Frontend from theme – in such case I would recommend asking your theme author on reasons as there surely should be ones and also provide information on where to modify his/her code to revert those changes.

I Don’t have that option. I have a “User groups access rules” option but it only disables the VC addons. I am using JKreativ theme and the latest version of VC.
I have gone through all the settings. There is a “Landing page builder – Visual composer” page template which is enabled - could the page template be outdated?
Looks like a theme issue with JKreativ – take a mental note of this as they may be problematic. I am going to get support from them now.
I have a page with a post grid layout that is paginated. It loads EXTREMELY slowly. My guess is that is loads all 500+ posts even though they are on different pages. Any fixes?
Hello, yes, right now it loads all the posts which triggers such behaviour. I would consider reducing number of posts loaded and in some cases rely on archive page. Also we do have plans to work on improvements there in the nearest future.
