Prepurchase Question
I need the ability to have two separate photo galleries that visitors can individually upload photos to, without having to log in. Is this possible? Based on the screenshots available with the plugin, I think this can be done by using Image Categories, but I’m unsure about not requiring a user account.
Yes, it is possible. You can switch between member and non-member uploads.
This is Pre buy question I am wanting to add a page to my wordpress woo commerce site. I would like to have a forum type page set up that would allow registered users to upload images to a post. Ability to Post Comments about the pictures they upload is that possible with this?
Yes, users can upload images, with a title and a description, and other users can post comments to each image.
I am getting the following error “Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /home1/sikpup/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/includes/cinnamon-users.php:1859) in /home1/sikpup/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wc-vendors/class-wc-vendors.php on line 90” I am using the Avada theme. my website is www.modelthrowdown.com thank you
I know about that error, I’ll release a fix today or tomorrow.
Any chance I could get a previous version sent to me until then modelthrowdown@gmail.com ? I heard they didn’t have the issue, that way I can work on it until the release is ready
This is fixed, thank you.
Hi,
on installing the latest ImagePress version 5.5.7, the plugins page in Admin came up as a blank white page, so I’ve had to revert back to the earlier version that isn’t working properly, what could be causing this?
I had one issue with file encoding. A new release is coming out today, around noon, hopefully fixing your issue.
All seems to be working fine now, thanks for your great support!
You are welcome!
Hi
I have a pre-purchase question:
We got a Woocommerce shop; we design, manufacture and sell fishing tackle (products). We want to create a gallery using pictures submitted by our field testers and customers. Essentially the pictures will be pictures of the fish our field testers and customers catches using our products.
Ideally every picture submitted we would like the following (required) custom fields associate with them for the submitter to fill in: weight, products used, location and comment (perhaps the comment can be restricted to a certain amount of characters).
Is this something you can make possible with your plugin with your limited time?
No, it is not possible. I’m sure it would require certain WooCommerce hooks, and I have never worked with it.
Okay fair enough, take Woocommerce out of the equation just a plain and simple Wordpress website that need user submitted gallery with custom fields attached. Would that be possible?
The answer is the same. I’ve been planning to add custom fields support to ImagePress for a while. Right now, the fields are hardcoded, and they can be added by any developer, but I want to add an easy control panel to add an unlimited number of fields to an image.
I’ll keep researching and see if I can push something in version 6.0.
How can I get the previous version? I am also dealing with the error “Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at…”
That’s not an error, it’s a warning, and the plugin should work fine. The warning only appears on activation. Also, can you add the entire warning here?
“output started at…” – I need the line.
I have a pre-purchase question:
My website focuses on telling stories of various locations. My hope is to have users auto submit images of the location.
I would want to add shortcode/widget onto the side of a post. The shortcode will show the submission form to add images. Once approved, the images will appear below the submission box on that post alone. Each post will only display the images submitted on that post.
Is this possible with your plugin?
It is possible but it requires additional programming. I am not available for custom programming now, due to lack of time.
Maybe I have overlooked it, but I see no place where to insert the licence key and how to update the product? Can you give me a little hint?
I discovered a issue with the plugin. As soon as I activate it, I can’t edit images in the library anymore. On the edit screen appears just a broken image symbol. If I deactivate imagepress, it’s possible to edit the image. Have you any idea what could be wrong? I love imagepress but I also need to be able to edit images in the media library. Hope there’s a solution.
Sorry for my many questions. But I’m just in the process of checking out imagepress.
You don’t have to insert the license key. You will be able to download updates from the Downloads tab or menu item inside your CodeCanyon account.
Also, it’s weird about the images, can you contact me via email so I can have access to your WordPress and check for myself?
My email address is getbutterfly@gmail.com.
it’s still on localhost as I’m in the process of creating the website, so there’s no online access at the moment. Sorry. I could send you screenshots but not sure if that helps?
I think this plugin is awesome. But I do have a question: Is it possible to display the latest X (e.g. 10) uploads as thumbnails in a sidebar widget? I also would like to display the x (e.g.10) most most liked and viewed images in the sidebar instead of the image names as the provided shortcode does. I was wondering of there’s already a shortcode that does this and I may have overlooked it?
There is no shortcode, it’s only a text list. I will add shortcodes for these in version 6. Probably in 2 weeks.
Thank you.
You’re welcome.
Is this plugin able to create a gallery automatically taking pictures scattered on the post pages?
No.
Thank you anyway
You’re welcome!
Hi,
Unfortunately there are additional issues with the latest ImagePress update (5.5.5).
Please see error messages below:
The plugin generated 4 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/kelstoni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/includes/page-settings.php:2847) in /home/kelstoni/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1196
Undefined on submit
Newsletters still being reduced in size when image resize option is selected in ‘Uploads’. (Above errors come up irrespective of this option being enabled or disabled).
We have now had to re-install the previous version as it is a live site.
Also, one other thing, although not related.
On http://kelstonint.school.nz/visual-art-gallery/ you cannot see the number for page two. Can we either change the number colour or make the background the same colour as page 1? Thanks.
And one more! Page 2 doesn’t open in viewer, just opens in page.
Sorry to be such a pain, but hopefully this sorts out bugs.
Hi Tassie.
1. Page 2 opens fine for me. 2. I will remove the colour styling for pagination in version 5.5.6. 3. Don’t worry about the headers error, it’s harmless. 4. I’ll check the “on submit” error, I know what is happening. 5. I will try another fix for the image resizing issue. I hope to release 5.5.6 today.
Thank you.
Hi,
I’ve reverted to using the previous version until the issues are fixed, hence why pages 1 and 2 were probably okay for you. There also seems to be a conflict with another plugin I’m using (with the latest version 5.5.5), DHVC Form, which didn’t exist on the earlier version, a php error throws up on the front of the website that can be viewed by visitors and the lightbox ceases to work.
hi, is there a shortcode to output all “trending” works of the month/week? or shortcode all “popular” works etc?
i found a loophole where users can just select the category “featured” so they can be on the Featured category on the upload page. How do we hide the “featured” category?
It’s not a loophole, you need add the category ID to excluded categories. Check the Settings tab.
There is no shortcode for that yet. I’m working on it.
hi thank you for your reply, Just wondering, are you using a cache plugin for Poster Spy? if so, what? also, what kind of hosting are you using for poster spy? thank you. I’m getting a 524 error whenever I upload an image

Wow, you hit “Reply” too many times
I don’t use a caching plugin, but I recommend WP Super Cache. Also, I’m using business hosting with a dedicated IP address. It’s not something powerful for now.
Sorry bout that, it lagged.
alright thanks! have you ever had 524 errors? I see that youre also using cloudflare. and what’s with the dedicated IP address? why do you need it for PosterSpy? just wondering its purpose. thank you. I’m using Godaddy Deluxe hosting.
Never had 524 errors, try to lower some of the parameters of Cloudflare, or even disable it while testing. I don’t have any problems with it.
A dedicated IP is useful for no email blacklisting, Google ranking and in the future, SSL certificates.
hi thanks, Just updated to the latest version and the “Search Designers” shortcode is not working (whenever I visit the page, an error occurs with the jquery.main and its giving me an option to “Stop the script”. I just rewent back to the older version until theres a new fix.
Anyway, the sorting category shortcode is not working: I tried this: [imagepress-show filter=”filters” sort=”category” author=”yes” moreitems=”1”] and this: [imagepress-show sort=”category” author=”yes” ]
but the sorting element is not showing up (only images)
Thank you

Multiple comment again sorry, it lagged
Can you see error in Chrome’s console? Or Firefox?
Also, did you clear your cache? I changed some code inside jquery.main.js.
The error is on Firefox. “A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.
Script: http://mysite.com/wp-content/pl…ress/js/jquery.main.js?ver=1.1:4"
Yes i cleared the cache several times.
Also the sorting category is not working.
it’s also showing up an error on chrome. it has a never ending load then goes to a dark blue error screen “aww snap”
I don’t remember if you sent me a link to your site so I can see the error myself. Can you do that, please?
sure, ill send in instructions at your email to login to my site. Thank you
hi just sent the email at getbutterfly@gmail.com | Thanks!
I’m working on it. Your site is a bit slow.
hi! any update?
I was able to solve my problem about the Sorter of the shortcode:” [imagepress-show filter=”filters” sort=”category” author=”yes” moreitems=”1”]” ....I needed to add this “sort=”yes” for it to appear.
Anyway, this error is still showing up on the shortcode for search designers: “A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.” because of jquery.main.js?ver=1.1:4
Another error i found was page numbers instantly missing on [imagepress-show] shortcode when clicking randomly on the page numbers. I also checked poster spy, and the same error happens sometimes.
Hoping for a solution. Thank you!
I’ve been cleaning the JS file, but as far as I can see, your error is on line 4, and that’s where my list.js is. It is a minified script and it shouldn’t yield any errors. There is a conflict somewhere, I’m sure. Can you deactivate your plugins and try again? And then reactivate them one by one, until you find the conflict?
i deactivated all the plugins for that page, and the error is still appearing. ever since i upgraded imagepress that error shows up.
i deactivated all the plugins for that page, and the error is still appearing. ever since i upgraded imagepress that error shows up.
I have released a new version – http://getbutterfly.com/imagepress-5-6/ – see if the error is still there.
hi, no luck
upgraded to the new version, deleted the cache and refreshed. the error is still appearing. Also a new error appeared in the homepage after upgrading: “Warning: Division by zero in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/imagepress.php on line 1005”
The error is because I have added a new option, inside the Configurator tab, images per row. It should be set to 5 or 6. I’ll keep checking.
hI! i set the new option inside the configurator tab: “images per row” and “authors per row” and both errors are fixed, not showing up. Thank you!
Although, theres one last error i noticed on page numbers…whenever i click randomly on page numbers (1,4,3,2,5 then 1 – for example) ....the rest of the page numbers disappear. it also happens at poster spy sometimes.
I have added a new shortcode – [imagepress-show-async] – which fixes that behaviour and works better for lots of images. The shortcode is not yet documented, but it will be really soon.
THANK YOU! works like a charm.
Cheers and goodluck with sales!
You are welcome! I need to fix that shortcode, though, as it causes high load if you have thousands of images. A new release is coming next week.
Hi,
Unfortunately I’m still having issues with the latest version. Larger images are being uploaded, but aren’t resizing to regular, thumbnail sizes in the gallery:
http://kelstonint.school.nz/technology-gallery/
Also there are random, size spaces between gallery thumbnails.
Thanks
I THINK these issues may be sorted, it seems that the default wordpress thumbnail option is not resizing, but the ImagePress standard, thumbnail size is.
Argh, still a prob with thumbnails not resizing properly:
http://kelstonint.school.nz/technology-gallery/ http://kelstonint.school.nz/cultural-gallery/
Yes, I noticed. One of the images is 4000×2000, and I think it is too big. I’ve had this problem with another client, WordPress is not able to resize them. Can you resize the images to a more reasonable size before uploading them? Like 2000×2000 max, for example.
I’ll have a word to the clients, do you know when the update will be available that fixes the .pdf file size issue? I still have the uploads/resize image option disabled.
Today. A new version will be released with several fixes.
Hi!
I just bought the plugin and loving it so far. The only problem though is the “progress shots”. where you can upload additional images. They doesn’t show up in the lightbox. Is there any reason for that?
Also, if I use the “open image page” in “image behaviour”, the images open fine in the single-image.php page, but the images won’t open in lightbox. I’m using the jquery colorbox. I don’t know if you know the problem for that?
And while I’m at it, is there any way to have a page that shows all members? Like all the registered members on the site? I couldnt find this option in the shortcode list…
Thank you
Hi and thank you.
Not sure about the lightbox, it was only meant to function if you opened the image as media, not as single page. I will add a special class to all images inside ImagePress to make it easier for lightbox plugins to detect them.
For all members, try this:
[cinnamon-card perpage=”10”]
Sounds right. Cuz when you upload additional images they don’t show up in the wordpress media manager, so it’s kinda like they don’t exist. It would be awesome to get a fix for this as soon as possible if you have the time.
[cinnamon-card perpage=”10”] This shortcode doesn’t really work, but that could very well be a problem with my theme. (self made and not published). But where do you even find those shortcodes? It’s not in the documentation and not in the plugin page in wordpress backend…
I will fix it as soon as possible.
I will add that shortcode to the documentation next week. What do you mean it’s not working? What do you see?
I see nothing. Well I see the grey’ish box with the “sort by” options and the “find by name or location” options. But no members show up, and nothing happens when I try to search. And I’m not sure if there’s supposed to be an actual button for “search”, but there isn’t. So at least nothing happens when I press enter.
I thought maybe it was because I’m working in localhost so the plugin have a hard time indexing the ID’s. I don’t know
No, it’s not the localhost. And no, there is no search button, search is real-time.
Can I see your site? Do you have any users with uploaded images? I think there might be some checks for complete name, complete location and at least one upload. I need to make them configurable.
Sorry for late reply. How do I show my site when it’s localhost?
Yes, there are users with uploaded images. 2 users with 2 uploaded images each. Username on the first is just “test”. username on the second is “Tony Berg”.
I’ll check and release an updated version tomorrow. You can’t show the site if it’s localhost. I’ll remove all checks so you can display all existing users.
I wasn’t talking about the username, I was talking about the first and last name.
I was also wondering about the [cinnamon-profile] shortcode. Where exactly do I put this for it to work? before or after the ”</IfModule>”? And also, for where there is ”!www\.domain.com,” what exactly do I write there? Just my domain?
- BEGIN ImagePress Author Rewrite RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !www\.domain.com RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ([^.]+)\.domain.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ ?author_name=%1
- END ImagePress Author Rewrite
I uploaded my site now. http://tonyberg.net/designfisk/directory/ That is the exact link to where I would want the [cinnamon-card perpage=”10”] shortcode to work.
Also. Keep in mind that the site is not finished. So it’s not very pretty yet
Hi, so for 1:
Doesn’t matter, usually at the end of the .htaccess file. And yes, replace domain.com with your own domain name.
I just released an updated version, wait for CodeCanyon to approve it and you will have the [cinnamon-card] shortcode working.
Hi there,
i added a custom page with the shortcode [imagepress-show]. When i click on the title of an image or on the thumbnail it opens a page with just the image. By clicking I'd like to get to the image page like http://swcity.de/image/schweinfurt-volksfest-2015-2/ .Is this possible?
Where can i add a banner in the header of [imagepress-show]?
Have you created a single-image.php template file?
yes i did
Oh, okay. Got it. Go to ImagePress -> Settings and select the “open image page” option instead of the “media” option. You should then go to Settings -> Permalinks and click on “Save Changes”.
Hi there,
how can i fix this overlapping header? http://swcity.de/image/schweinfurt-volksfest-2015-2/mfg knuppel
Hi, I can’t see any overlapping header, I can only see a map.
Hello,
as you can see here, there is no image: http://swcity.de/image/ssd/i approved it as admin.
knuppel
Is the image set as a featured image? Did you upload it via the [imagepress-add] shortcode?
Yes via this shortcode. How to set it as featured image automatically? I also can not see an image in the media folders.
The image is automatically set as featured. Did you get an error on image upload?
with the update it seems that [imagepress-add] is not working I only see a message saying “You need to be logged in to upload an image” on the page where I put the shortcode
It does work perfectly fine when I’m in Admin mode, but not as a new user trying to register to upload an image. Thanks
So, have you registered as a new user? Is the new user role Subscriber or Author?
I’ll email you
Hey there. I just purchased the plugin and am running in to some javascript issues. I am trying to integrate your plugin with the Harmonic theme (https://wordpress.org/themes/harmonic/), but there seems to be some issues with button and href clicks.
When I disable the ImagePress plugin, I can confirm that form submit buttons, links, etc., work as they should. When I re-enable ImagePress, clicking on buttons/links goes back to nothing happening. This is even happening on a page I created with the [imagepress-add] shortcode.
This makes me believe that this plugin isn’t compatible with all themes. Has anyone else run in to this issue? Is there a way to fix the issue? jQuery no-conflict perhaps?
Thanks in advance.
Can I see your site or a page with errors so I can see what the errors are?
Sorry for the late response. I have the site setup in a staging environment, but don’t want to paste the link here. Is there a support forum or way to message you about getting help? Thanks!
You can send me an email to getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com.
Sorry, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s still a few glitches with Imagepress, (thumbnail-sized gaps and inconsistent thumbnail sizes), the number of thumbnail-sized gaps, varies in different browsers, e.g. Firefox may show one space, where as there are more spaces in Internet Explorer. Also if you check with Internet Explorer, the first thumbnail space, on hover, shows a link to the existing page gallery you are on. Chrome only shows one thumbnail space, (like firefox), however there is a tiny little square in the top left of the space, if you hover over it, it links to the existing page Gallery.
please see this page here:
http://kelstonint.school.nz/technology-gallery/
Or here if you want to check extra “squares” and hover link in Internet Explorer.
Hi,
Just wondering if you’ve inadvertently missed seeing this message? Please advise asap. Thanks!
Hi Tassie, your problem is that the images are too small. One of them, for example, has a height of 213px. When generating thumbnails, WordPress would make them proportional, that’s why you’re seeing different sizes.
Some images don’t load for me at all. There might be a problem with them, such as being corrupt. Do you have any image processing plugin active?
Hi, no image resizing plugin activated, Easy Fancybox has an image cropping option in, (which I’ve disabled). I’m not sure how or why images are showing up corrupt, (blank), when they’re just regular jpg images when viewed on my computer, although they show up in the back-end of ImagePress with the words (No Title) in the Title column?
Try to resave them and reupload them and check if it happens the same. Have you used the bulk uploader plugin? How many images have you uploaded at the same time?
For now, I’ve just deleted images that were of the wrong size or, for whatever reason, were corrupt. Yes, I’m using the bulk image uploader, uploading approx 10 images at a time. I’ve just noticed that your new update has come through, so I’ll see if that fixes any previous issues.
