Hello, i want to ask something about this plugin before i buy it.
I want to add in a wp website, a gallery that users will upload their own photos with name and email address.
Can you please tell me, if it is possible all users upload in the same gallery and if there is a front end uploader with fields like (name, email, title, description)?
I’m sorry for these questions but i didn’t understand so much from demo…
Thank you very much Tania
Yes, it is possible to do everything you want. There are gallery categories, frontend uploader and all the fields you’ve mentioned.
Thank you very much for your fast reply. I just purchased the plugin, but i need help with this… I find only how to disable fields and no create new.
Can you please tell me how to do it or just send me some documentation?
Thank you
You can’t create new fields. You can only use the existing fields.
Oh, ok…and one last question… Can i change the type of field? For example, in the field for url add text….?
Sorry for all these questions….
You can if you open the imagepress.php file. Why would you need text inside a URL field?
The thing is that i need 4 fields in the uploader, title/description/name/email As i can see, you have only 2 fields for that and all others are for urls…
I’m sorry, it’s not my decision…. but the guy who owns website is a little bit of annoying…
Okay, I got it. I’ll add the name and email and I’ll release an updated version. Can you send me an email on getbutterfly [at] gmail [dot] com?
Sure…. Thank you very very much… When you are ready you can reply to my email….
Just wanted to thank you once again for all the great support and going above and beyond necessary to get everything working. You also added the bulk upload feature we really needed for a lot of our clients.
For anyone looking at purchasing this plugin, it is GREAT! Support is also fantastic. One of the great things is that it is way less resource hungry than NextGen Gallery. Runs really fast and smoothly.
Have just purchased two additional licenses as promised and will start to include on all our new sites.
Thanks again.
You are welcome, Tassie, stand by for the next versions.
One of the features I’d like to implement in version 6, either as a module, or part of ImagePress, is a better login/registration module, using the WordPress native functions, with the possibility of customizing the login screen. I’ll post a few mockups next week.
Just a reminder that you were also going to look at the possibility of “Show as Slideshow” option for galleries. Thanks.
Hi, just emailed you some issues I’m having.
Also, the shortcode [cinnamon-card perpage=8] is not working. It’s appearing but all the users are not showing up.
Hi, I’ll look into that and reply as soon as possible. I got your email.
?
An update is coming out today with all restrictions lifted from the authors display. Currently, the code checks for full name, at least one upload and a correct location.
Hi there, So I am done testing the site in a local development and it works great. But when I upload the plugin to my live site activating the plugin makes any post/page go to a blank page when saved/updated. Deactivating the plugin makes everything work again. Have you run into this issue before? Any tips on where sure I look?
Thanks again!
Try going to Settings -> Permalinks and click on Save Changes. It might be a rewrite issue.
Hi there, Awesome plugin!! working beautifully so far. I have one question. A big request I have is for the images to have an option to input the location so they can be searched by place.
Any ideas on the best way to do this? I was thinking a custom field but not sure yet how to put it together
Thanks again!
That’s a good idea. I can add a custom field in the next version.
Thank you!
You are awesome! will definitely recommend and link to page when ready!
Okay, stay tuned. I’m aiming for Friday to release the next version of the plugin.
Hi There! Wondering if that custom field(s) option will be added and if so when? Would really help!
It will be a while. Not in the next 2 month, maybe in winter, with version 7.0.
Very Interested with your plugin.
I noticed that there is an option to show if you are available for hire in the Demo, however i checked my profile and it doesnt show up when it turns on.
Is there also a way to filter member searches? like for example you are looking for a user that is available for hire or is proficient in photoshop etc.
I also would like to suggest to show the “user header” that has his name, profile stats, and follow button ABOVE the project images like this one:
http://majid-smiley.cgsociety.org/art/zbrush-neandertal-3d-1020510Other suggestions: 1. follow button beside member name : http://posterspy.com/designers/ 2. Color pallete widget: http://shotpro.miguelvasquez.net/shots/151-codecanyon 3. TAGS 4. Mini user profile widget with Follow button on Project pages. 5. Filter work by Most Commented, Likes or by Followers. 6. Filter work by ones that are on “Sale”. 7. Be able to filter works that are created by Software or according to TAGS like this http://www.cgsociety.org/gallery/software/ZBrush
Is this compatible with buddypress and userpro w/ facebook login?
will there be a video addon to be integrated soon? Videopress? Adding youtube links etc.
I really love your plugin. Hope there are more updates. Goodluck with sales.
THANK YOU THANK YOU
Thanks for your kind words. I’ll consider your suggestions for version 6 or 7, depending on their complexity.
I have never tested it with BuddyPress or UserPro, so I’m not sure. ImagePress features its own user management panel, so Userpro is redundant.
No video addon is currently planned and there is no way to search users based on their info.
Can’t users search by categories? because I’m not seeing anything. I have tried every single shortcode listed, also when i put in the shortcode [imagepress-collections count=”X”] I get nothing. It just shows the code on the page.
Users can’t search by category, no. I am working with another customer on building a better search engine.
Also, have you activated collections on the Settings tab?
what does this mean…....Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/32/d266599072/htdocs/Reapers/wp-content/themes/twentyten/header.php:12) in /homepages/32/d266599072/htdocs/Reapers/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1196.... It happens everytime I try to upload an image Thanks in advance. Also yes i didn’t activate the collections on the Settings tab, thanks for that also.
That’s weird. Did you try to deactivate all plugins and see if you still get the error? I’ll investigate tomorrow with the Twenty Ten theme. Thanks.
I will try and will let you know
Yeah I deactivated all the plugins and still got the same message
Try version 5.5.4.8. It should be live by tonight.
I just purchased imagepress plugin, is there a tutorial?
A tutorial for installing the plugin? You should upload it to your plugins directory and activate it.
Everything you need is in the documentation folder and the plugin has an Info settings tab with all available shortcodes and functions.
There is a generic template inside the /documentation/ folder. You don’t need to recode anything. You also need to create 2 pages, one with the upload shortcode, one with the view shortcode.
Hi, I noticed this plugin interferes with the styling of the product tabs in WooCommerce. Looks like you use .tabs somewhere – can you please make the CSS more specific so it doesn’t mess up the WC tabs…
You are correct. Version 5.5.3 will rename the .tabs class.
There is something with the admin bar (user options), please have a look to these screenshots: http://eykuwepap50.de/errors/error-01.jpg, http://eykuwepap50.de/errors/error-02.jpg
How to fix it?
Thanks
It’s putting some mascs under the footer (vdh-mask vdh) maybe copies of the pictures of the gallery?
I think it is a problem with another plugin “simple lightbox”, it is not compatible with your plugin, do you know what plugin is working (lightbox function for your gallery)?
Thanks
No is not, also without plugin the error is the same…
I have no idear…
Are the masks gone if you deactivate ImagePress? Looks like it’s Video Download Helper. Is that a WordPress plugin or a browser extension?
Yes when I deactivate ImagePress it’s gone….
Video Download Helper is a Addon for Firefox and it was the problem.
You are so right
Now It works with the older version off your plugin – I’ll try the new one later, will give you feeback soon.
Thanks a lot
The new one is coming tonight. Hopefully, it will solve all your problems.
I lost two day’s with it, it’s better to wait for your help I think …
Thanks
I’m cleaning up several files, and I’ll probably release version 5.5.3 sooner.
I try a lot of things now – load from backup and so on – just will give you a feedback when I find something…
I have also fixed 2 missing variables. Version 5.5.3 will be out tomorrow evening.
Also I get a white space under the footer since the update before.
It hapens only in Firefox: http://eykuwepap50.de/content/upload-galerie/
Now V 5.4.1 is running…
Thanks for help
Now V 5.5.2 is running – but I work on the page…
Let me know how it goes, I’ll check tomorrow to see what happened,
Hi there, with your last update I can not scroll my page anymore and I miss my page logo… Something is wrong with the update.
What do you mean you can’t scroll the page? What about the logo?
I’ve uploaded the latest version 5.5.2 but am still having the following issues:
1. When I use the bulk uploader and select multiple images, only ONE image thumbnail appears on the front end gallery. The other uploaded images which don’t show in the gallery, appear in the back-end and duplicate.
2. My lightbox which was working, (Easy Fancybox), now no longer works, I installed your recommended lightbox plugin, (Jquery colorbox), and this isn’t working either.
Thanks for all of the hard work you’re doing to get this plugin working effectively, I’m persevering with it because I KNOW that it will be the best front-end image gallery available, as it is far faster than any of its competitors, once all issues have been resolved.
I’ll check tomorrow.
Okay thanks. By the way, on reinstalling imagepress, the following error shows up as well:
The plugin does not have a valid header.
Make sure you removed the old plugin completely, and the plugin folder name is “imagepress”.
I have also fixed 2 missing variables, version 5.5.3 is scheduled for tomorrow evening.
Okay, thanks!
Unfortunately the issues continue to exist following the latest update, would it be better if I send a support ticket with login details?
Version 5.5.4.8, live tonight, fixes all your issues. I have tested it on three client sites.
Almost there, but there is still a conflict with WPUF Pro plugin, when pdf files with multiple pages are uploaded in WUPUF Pro, it only uploads the first pdf page, (chopping the file sizes), e.g. 3mb files upload to 1.06mb. Pdf uploads to WPUF Pro work fine when ImagePress is deactivated.
1. Check if image resizing is disabled on the Uploads tab. 2. Check if upload size is larger than 8MB (that would be 8192) on the Settings tab.
YES!!!! Everything works perfectly now, thanks so much for all of your help, we will purchase more licenses for our other sites, replacing Nextgen Gallery, and for future sites. A++ Work and support!
What was the problem? Image resizing or upload size?
I’m not sure, I changed both, I’ll try each one separately and let you know.
It was the image resizing option on uploads.
Thanks. It’s time to fix it then, as it should only affect images (JPG, PNG).
Ah, I see, when it’s sorted can you let me know so that I can enable it again?
Yes, I will.
Hi,
Firstly, thanks for all of the hard work you’re doing on Image Press, it’s turning out to be a top class plugin.
It’s great to see the bulk uploader added, though there seem to be a few bugs, I’m not sure if this is due to my use of it, or if it’s the scripting itself.
I’ve added the following shortcodes to a Test Page, (without spaces):
imagepress-show category=”test”
When I select multiple images to upload, only one image thumbnail shows up on the gallery page, but duplicate images of the uploaded images show up in the ImagePress, back-end admin section.
On refreshing the page, existing thumbnails in the gallery duplicate.
I’m happy to give you back-end access if you would like to check it out.
Thanks.
Thank you. I’ll test it on my server again. Refreshing the page will repeat the action, so it’s correct. I’ll work on it.
Unfortunately the issues continue to exist following the latest update, would it be better if I send a support ticket with login details?
All Resolved! Great plugin, especially with the multiple file uploader now included, it doesn’t slow down the website as with other, frontend gallery plugins.
Thank you very much!
Version 5.5.1a fixes the fatal error and the white screen. This error was caused by outdated PHP versions, such as 5.3 or 5.4.
Oh dear!
I’ve just uploaded the latest version of Image Press with the hope of it fixing a few bugs, but the site turned into a white page with the following error message:
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/kelstoni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/imagepress.php on line 324
Please help!
Thanks.
Sorry, my bad! I tried to install it as an update to the older version, which gave me the above error, when I deactivated the old version completely and uploaded the new version, it appears to work, still testing it out though.
ARGH! Nope. When I refreshed plugins I got the same error:
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/kelstoni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/imagepress.php on line 324
I’ve tried deleting the entire plugin via FTP and reinstalling the latest download V 5.5.1, but it triggered the same error again.
I have released version 5.5.1a, which fixes the error. I didn’t realize there are so many users with outdated PHP versions.
Sorry, we are using php 5.3.29 due to other plugins which require it, we’re aiming to resolve this soon, thanks for your speedy response! Will check out what the new version contains, if it has a bulk uploader, we’ll be purchasing more licenses.
Is the one ready for download the fixed version 5.5.1a? If not, would you be able to email it to me, as I’m wanting to finish the site off for a client.
You will get a notification from Envato when the download is available. I’ll also check my account and I will let you know. No promises, though. I will work to get several bugs fixed and to allow older PHP versions to properly function with ImagePress.
I received a notification to download a new release today, it works fine and everything is looking great! Is it supposed to include the bulk uploader as per the Readme file? If so, how do I get it to work? Thanks.
I suppose you found the shortcode in the dashboard section of the plugin. If not, this is it:
Just purchased and installed this. Went to activate it and received this error:
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/xxxxxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/imagepress/imagepress.php on line 324
I have released version 5.5.1a, which fixes the error. I didn’t realize there are so many users with outdated PHP versions.
Thanks for the quick update, works now.
You’re welcome.
Just checking if there is any news on the version 5.5 update that you were hoping to release a few days ago.
Thanks.
Yes, I just released it 5 minutes ago. Wait for an Envato notification.

Do you block author archives? Did you contact your web host about the wildcard settings?
