for Documentation Quality

The documentation is so easy to follow. The installation is explained well and a couple of different methods are given. The whole system is thoroughly explained and the instructions on how to protect a page or even a section of a page are simple and straight forward, including not only whether a user is logged in but also whether they are a member of a certain group or their group is higher than a certain level.
I went from install to pages protected and groups created in less than an hour.
There is even detailed instructions on how to add custom fields like 'mobile phone'.
I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this system.

I am a Certified Instructional Designer and eLearning Designer/Developer, I know horrible and inadequate documentation when I see it. Let me state categorically, the following:
1. DOCUMENTATION IS INADEQUATE, FUZZY, and USELESS if you actually want to use this script to do something.
2. SUPPORT IS basically NON-EXISTENT and USELESS if you actually want support.
I purchased this script in October and have been trying a zillion ways for it to actually protect a page. It can't. Since there is ZERO DOCUMENTAION on this, I sent a support email to the author asking for some specific steps that should have been in the documentation. He responded with an email that said PHP is too broad of a subject to teach. Did not ask him anything about teaching me PHP since I have that covered, but clearly, he does not know, or want to share how to make this thing work....OR it just does not work.

As one buyer said, there has been over 1100 sales but just 83 ratings and those are from years ago. All the comments relate issues of this script not working.

This script's 'ad' glittered, so I purchased this shiny thing only to find out that all that glitters is not necessarily gold. This is not gold. I will post my support email and the author's response.

I will now look for and buy a script that works where the documentation is adequate, and the author can actually support it if needed.

Everyone else thinks the documentation is great. I'd only sent this person one reply, before she ranted here. Really odd person to deal with - very angry person.

Final review.
To start, cuatomer support is trash. He will insult you for proactively changing a review based on findings.
I started with this code and within 15 minute had issues.
First review based on that alone.
30 minutes in it got even worse, and when you went to docs it has zero explanation as to how to circumvent such an issue.
Another 30 minutes later was my last and final review for the night because my security firewall was saying there was a backdoor within his process.php script.
Ok, sure, a false positive most likely but let's be real, a competent and experienced dev would never release code that throws a false positive, as that is a huge negative for functionality, meaning you need to white list ever single path that throws the backdoor error (there were 5).
So, he messages me this morning obliging a request for a refund, but based on second thoughts and being able to successfully (yet annoyingly) whitelist all the paths that the backdoor error was, I decided to try and resolve the remaining issues.
He recommends it's best I just get a refund because I left reviews like a drunk person. Guess he's never heard of progressive reviewing, which I do a lot when working with new code.
So after being insulted I told him I would let him keep my money so I could gladly post this review for all to see, to which his only reply was 'Go for it, I'll have a beer with the money you paid for it'.
Goes to show why this system has thousands of downloads and no reviews.
- It's cheap and people are willing to eat the $20 to buy a working system from an incompetent dev who has an inflated ego because he sold 1000 copies of a poorly documented platform, that only has 80 reviews.
Good job, Les than 10% of your customer base left a review, and their all from MONTHS ago.
Wrapping this review up, I really don't recommend this product unless you are proficient in PHP (I am not, only html).
Install docs are incomplete or lacking and support is trash

You don't need to be proficient in PHP to use the script, it only requires a couple of lines of code to get it work. It helps to know PHP of course, after all is it a PHP script. The purchaser changed his ratings 8 times already in the last 12 hours, at one point giving it 5 stars. Hahaha! He also ranted in about 3 or 4 emails about me purposely infecting people, all this before I had even got out of bed. It did sound like he was drunk to be fair.

I suggested to go ahead with the refund request because I could see it would be difficult to deal with this type of person. But they want to keep it now so they can maliciously keep this review up. Bit sad really.
