This looks very close to what I’m looking for. But I can’t tell from the demo site how the Posts Grid show filter option works. In fact, when I try to use it I get error 500s on the demo site.
I would guess (and hope) it’s supposed to work similar to the Visual Composer add element screen. Is that right? How can I make it work on the demo site? Also, does it work to filter tags? What about custom taxonomies?

Yes it works with custom taxonomies and tags. This is very complex element and we have plans to update it again (soon) to make it easier to use.

Is there a way to add more options to the gallery type within the Image Gallery tab. I would love to add layerSlider as an option. Or at least add other transition types other than just fade and slide..
What i meant about Layerslider, is to be able to upload the images for layerslider inside Visual composer. so you don’t have to leave the editor to create the slideshows.

no we don’t plan to make that integration “tighter”. Both this plugins are developing very fast and it will be enormous job to keep it up to date.
Love this plugin, i use it almost daily! I use the google maps part of it a lot, they recently updated their site a lot though, are you going to release an update to work better with the new google maps website? the zooming etc does not work anymore.

Should VC support qTranslate or WPML, as at the moment when I activate the plugin qTransalte it breaks VC.

WordPress is adding padding-left attribute to the indented paragraph, may be your theme is overriding that? you may open support ticket, we can take a look for you.

Hey guys…I need to customize your Teaser Grid to have the image go to a custom link when clicked rather than a larger image or the portfolio item. Is there any developers you’d recommend for hire or is that something I can hire you guys to do? This is for a theme that has VB packaged with it.

We are not available for freelance work. But this is something that any WP dev can do. All you need to do is store teaser grid template within your template’s folder/vc_templates and override some functionality according to your needs. Here’s how you can override html output for the very basic element (separator) http://kb.wpbakery.com/index.php?title=Shortcode_Templates_%28markup%29 but process is identical for complex elements.
Thanks Mixey…let me ask you this: Instead of editing your template files, would adding custom fields to Portfolio items for urls and then using php to target the post_thumbnail work? I “dabble” in php so I’m trying to sort this out myself and I’m thinking (hoping) this would work?
After setting custom fields for your portfolio items you should output them and to do that some template changes will be required. If you want to understand how things work, hire 3rd party dev and then ask him about the solution he/she will use. Learning on the real example is much easier

Visual Composer can “pull” your posts/pages and then output them in the grid. You control what sections should be used (thumbnail, text, heading, read more button) and have arrange them. But visual look is coming from your theme, so it should “blend” good with your theme out of the box. Additional styling can be done with custom css code that can be save in Settings->Visual Composer->Custom CSS
Well, I created a widget in WordPress. How Do I do, that it show in option ADD ELEMENT of Visual Composer? Is it easy?

This is out of our scope. og:description is outputted by third party plugin which doesn’t have “logic” to strip shortcodes from the content. This should be addressed to the plugin author.
my description was misleading. my site does not produce a og:description. i just outputed the facebook crawling.
There must be a plugin which handles og:description output, right? if so, then that plugin should take care of that (what text output in the description attribute and how to handle shortcodes).

yes it does. Visual Composer works with pages, posts and custom posts.
Is there any way to change the theme button color? I change it in settings but it doesn’t do anything. The buttons are still the default blue.
You can select only from available color options when you click button edit.

Hello, I need to change the font on the Text Separator title field (but I don’t want it to be just one font that I define in a css somewhere).
Should I override the vc_text_separator block or should I make my own Text Separator block with the markup and styling I want.
I guess I don’t know the best way to override the default functionality of an existing block. Whats a good way to do that? Should I make a copy of /js_composer/composer/shortcode_templates/vc_text_separator.php in my theme and edit that file?

if you want to change just visual part, then you can use custom css field in settings->Visual Composer->Custom CSS and store your own css code there to override default look.
