I am using the Skin Builder, I imported the Demo skins, and then edited Kampala (Custom), the first thing I try to do is give it a unique name, but as soon as I change the name, I lose some skin settings, like the triangles in both corners and other css stuff. How can I fix this? if I give it the name “Kampala (Custom)” it works again. Please help. Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is not possible to mix social streams in the same grid for performance reason. Each social stream requieres to make an external request in order to fetch content. Each request can be around 300-800ms depending of the social server and your server bandwith. So, by mixing social streams, it will drastically slow down the loading time. That’s the main reason this feature is not available in The Grid
Instagram stream accept several usernames at the same time in a grid.

Hi, I have The Grid through X theme. I was looking into purchasing the license, but before I do so, I want to see if the support I need can be provided. The Wordpress media library doesn’t allow natively to add stream videos urls like Vimeo or Youtube.
With The Grid you can already add Vimeo/Youtube/Wistia videos thanks to post type and post format or by using Vimeo stream source.
It’s also possible to mix post types. So, you can easily mix your Wordpress media library images with Vimeo videos from a custom post type for example.
It’s the best and right way to handle this kind of content because it’s Wordpress compliant. So, you will be able to use the content you have built with Worpdress whatever the theme or plugin!

I looked everywhere but I can not find it! Is it true that when using the grid lightbox, that I can not set any caption text to the images, like the title or the alt description? Is there a way to search a grid using all keywords? E.g. searching “FIFA Points” will not include “FIFA 17 Points” for some reason? How can you include all terms in random order also?

With The Grid, you will be able to recreate a similar grid. The Grid have color option for each taxonomy term in order to use it as text color or background color for the taxonomy term in a skin like in this example: http://theme-one.com/the-grid/quito/. However, to add an overlay background color depending of a term, it requires to add custom css in the same way you did for your current grid. But it’s possible to add background to an overlay or filter buttons depending of the term ID thanks to css.
With The Grid it’s also possible to replace your search and archive template: http://theme-one.com/docs/the-grid/#!/grid_as_template. It can be a great way to display your archive or search results with The Grid like in this example: http://theme-one.com/the-grid/category/general-news/.
Currently on this page http://www.rathfern.lewisham.sch.uk/news/ you have too much items in your grid. It increases the loading time. It will be better to use links which will redirect to the archive template instead of filter buttons which filter all items already present in your page. In that way you can reduce the number of items to load in your grid.

Hi, your plugin looks terrific and just what I was looking for. I just have a few questions before I purchase it:
1. Is there a maximum number of posts you can have in a grid? I want to create an image gallery with 1000+ images.
2. How does the search work? Does it search based on post titles and tags? Also, do searches pull up posts that are not yet loaded on the page?
3. Can the “instant” nature of the search function be turned off? Because I have so many images/posts, I would like the search results to load only once the full search is entered, rather than letter-by-letter.

1) There isn’t any limitation for the number of posts/images that you can display in a grid. However, a web page should not have too much content otherwise the loading speed will be very slow. Generally, if you display images in a grid (whatever the plugin or website) you should not display too much items in your grid. If your images are correctly optimized (30-50kB per image) then you can load approximately 30-40 images on load. And you can use a pagination or load more button to append new item in your grid.
2) 3) The search functionality will only act on items present in a grid and will search any string/text present in an item (skin). It’s a dynamic search functionality. Alternatively, you can use The Grid in order to replace the native Wordpress search template: http://theme-one.com/docs/the-grid/#!/grid_as_template. In that way, you can display in your search template results thanks to The Grid. You can also use a search widget above the grid in order to redirect the search to the search template. You can do the same thing for the index.php and archive.php template. Here a you will find a live example: http://theme-one.com/the-grid/category/general-news/.

The Grid will display your images from a RSS feed url. It will not create a functionality to organise your albums like Google Photos. It will only display data fetch from an RSS url. You need to create one grid for each of your gallery. An item in a grid (made from an RSS feed) will not redirect to another gallery like Google Photo.

You need to create a grid per RSS feed. As mentioned in my previous reply, you can’t automatically redirect an item in a grid to another page when using RSS feed. However, if you are using your Wordpress media library (images) to build your albums grid, you will be able to add a custom link to each item (each album) in your grid in order to redirect to another page which will contain a grid (gallery) made from a RSS feed.

With The Grid, you can display any post type in a grid. So, you will be able to display your blog post or portoflio item in a grid (or both post types at the same time). You can also display social streams content like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.. in a grid. However, it’s not possible to mix social streams together. And it’s not possible to mix social stream with post types in a same grid.

There isn’t any special implementation for Polylang plugin with The Grid. However, The Grid is compatible with WPML plugin. And, because Polylang uses the same principle as WPML, it should work fine to translate your grids. When using a translation plugin, you can set a language in your grid settings and The Grid will automatically displays posts in the right language.
