Will it work on hostgator SHARED HOSTING? I need something to work on shared hosting as I have malware in my files that keeps changing my .httaccess and index.php

Yes, Malware Scanner can work on any web hosting that supports PHP (like Shared Hosting and etc).
It is not WordPress plugin but a standalone PHP script which can be used to scan any PHP website’s files. For example once installed on your web host, you can configure it to scan your WordPress site’s folder.

I like the tool its very good especially scanning the last modified date + permissions.
Few suggestions:
1/ can you please add the full path for the php file on the main listing? Its very difficult to open details for hundreds of files
2/ would be very helpfull to scan the website and send an email report using cron
3/ would be nice to save the data for later reuse.

You can install it only once if the file access to the other domains/subdomains is not restricted. This depends on how the web host is configured by your hosting provider.
