Out of the box is very useful. Simplicity at its best.
But the simplicity it's only for the final user. From the inside is a giant piece of pure awesomeness. Lowly opinionated, very extensible. A very complex piece of software very well done.

If you try to pimp it to the extreme you will obviously find some bumps on the road. But there's a lot of freedom to extend and customize it to your needs.

This is a professional tool for professional users who want to save time and do not want to reinvent the wheel. You will make the most of it if you know the basics about forms and web technologies involved. You don't need to be an expert, but is not definitely for someone who is learning to copy/paste code from w3c schools and call him/herself a "developer".

If you think you will get the most advanced form in the universe with zero coding. Stop looking because that won't happen, nor here, nor everywhere else. You will need to at least load the form in your own page using code wether you use self hosted tools like this or SaaS solutions.

The drag and drop form builder migh cover like 90% of use cases for very basic forms with nice eye-candy and validation. The real power is that it becomes a great aid to set very good foundations for an advanced work. Will generate the code to customize and hack to your most advanced needs.

Like every technology is best to know the surroundings and read throughfully the documentation.

There's no perfect piece of software (and will never be) there will alway be room for improvements, more features, and surely you might find bugs.

Support is second to nothing. You leave a message to the author and you will get a reply almost inmediately (taking account time zone differences).

I first chose this product because I wanted to create a simple drag and drop PHP form for bride & grooms to be, who work within the French health industry combatting COVID, to offer a free concert for their wedding depending on the amount of votes each received received.

I contacted Gilles through the support as I had a problem with the form displaying the way I wanted, and not only did he fix the problems I was facing due to my lack of knowledge with embedding code, but he in fact offered to build a custom form that went way beyond what I was looking to create. He wanted to help the cause at no cost.

That to me is an impressive and very selfless proposition. So, I'm rating Gilles and the product 5 stars and if I could give more stars I would.

Without a doubt, this is the best form builder out there. I've tried many and not only is this the best option the support is second to none! Many features that other form builder platforms lock behind paid "add-ons" come with PHP Form Builder. Seriously there is no better option out there.
