sorting and filtering will work properly for large data set now?

Hello again.

Unfortunately, this issue hasn’t been resolved yet and sorting and searching may not work as expected for complex entries when server side is turned on.

The issue is (as mentioned in the notice box in the plugin) on Gravity’s side, and we’ll need to work with them on resolving the issue. Both development teams are, unfortunately, busy, so it will take some time before we resolve this issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

sorting and filtering problem is fixed now?

Hello there.

Sorry for the late response.

If you enable editing, there’s still a problem with sorting and filtering because of the way the data is stored in Gravity’s database tables.

We haven’t been able to fix this because the issue is somewhere between Gravity’s data and wpDataTables and our developers need more time to help fix this issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards.

If editing is not enabled, then sorting and filtering will work properly for large data set?

That is correct, if editing is disabled, tables linked to Gravity Forms entries will not be using Server-Side Processing and will, therefore, work normally when filtered and/or sorted.

Kind regards.

do you plan to update the sorting & filtering issue in the next update?

Hi there.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately, it won’t be fixed in our next update. This task is rather complex since the issue is somewhere between Gravity and wpDataTables, so it will require some time to get this resolved for server-side tables.

Please feel free to cast your vote for this fix on our feature requests page. The more votes a suggestion receives, the more likely it will be tackled sooner.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

As you defined in documentation that there is an issue with Searching and sorting with Server-side processing. Has the problem totally solved in the latest version?

Hello there.

The issue with search, sort, and filtering has not been resolved yet, unfortunately.

Our developers tried getting in touch with Gravity’s team to resolve this together, but they haven’t been able to do that.

We hope they’ll be able to help us out with this soon enough.

Kind regards.

1.5 is breaking the latest update to gravity forms tooltips and merge tag buttons.

Hello there.

The plugin doesn’t have merge cells option for Gravity Forms-based tables. Could you please open a ticket on our official support platform, provide some details about the issue, along with some screenshots, and our support managers will gladly help you out there?

If your support expired, please note that you will need to open a ticket in the pre-purchase section.

Hi! is it possible to filter entries of a table using a range option of a number field in gravity form?

Hello there.

If the field is forwarded to wpDataTables as integer or float, you can enable filters for the table, and enable the number range filter for that column (in column settings).

Kind regards.

Hello Great work…

Is there any news about when will the “server-side-processing” be fixed at last and the yellow warning box removed?

This has been at least 3 maybe 4 years old issue that we are waiting for. it is stated that your team are working with the gravity forms team to fix this issue. We really would like it to see this finish to make it a good product to use in production without worries of any unpredictable behaviors.

Thank you!

Hi again!

Unfortunately, this requires collaboration between our developers and Gravity Forms’ developers. Like indicated in the response related to Formidable Forms, both parties are engaged in priority tasks, and don’t have the time to work on this.

We did reach out to Gravity Forms a few times, but they didn’t have time to spare a developer for this issue. Hopefully the issue will be resolved within the next few months, but we can’t guarantee anything.

Kind regards.

Thank you for your quick reply.

If it help that we ask Gravity Forms about this to make it a priority, please let us know who to contact.

It is a great product you have but it is not fully baked if it has a warning yellow bar that says the plugin will have unpredictable behavior for larger tables.

It has been many years this issue was talked about, please make it so that it will be resolved at last, (for both, the Formidable Forms, and Gravity Forms)

Thank you very much and I hope we can see this resolved soon in near future updates.

Hi again.

Thank you for your feedback on this. You can reach out to Gravity Forms’ team through their website, maybe having users ask for help in this regard will have their team separate a few hours for us.

Kind regards.

Does submitting form in pop up after clicking on row and edit – actually trigger any gravity form feeds associated with form. I have a pods form feed that triggers when form is submitted but was hoping the form submitted on table edit pop up acts and functions like normal form submitted on site…

Hello Nathan.

We’re using Gravity’s method for the editing modal – the method returns the form with data lead_detail_edit.

In file wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/entry_detail.php around line 736

This method has a filter gform_field_content

Please check it out, and see if it’s of any use to you.

Kind regards.

Pre-purchase question?

I have built a form which includes many yes or no answers for many questions. The form itself contains has GF CSS Values for half section, third section and quarter sections for many yes and no questions and answers. The entire form is in 7 sections. Yet when printed out using the “all fields” selection its 14 pages long.

Question will this plugin can I make the report into half, third and quarter sections to bring the report print out down to a couple of pages?

Thanks in advance. Rick

Hello there.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

If you purchase this add-on, please note that it only works with Gravity forms and wpDataTables plugins. It’s not a stand-alone plugin.

You can create a table from your existing form, and it will pull all entries you have in the form. The export buttons of wpDataTables can export only what’s currently displayed on the page, so if you choose to export the data of an entire table, it will be shown in one document.

It’s not advisable to display all rows if there are over 2.000 – 3.000 rows, as your table may become very slow, and ultimately break.

Kind regards.

Pre-Purchase question: I would like to upload pictures with Gravity Forms to wpTables with your plugin from the frontend. Is this possible? Gravity Forms supports to upload pictures to the Media Library and wpTables is supporting pictures in their rows… are you supporting this combination and would it be possible to replace pictures also? thx for your help

Hello.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

While Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables add-on allows you to create tables from existing Gravity Forms, and you can add images to the table – editing any of the rows afterwards will unfortunately remove the image.

So, you would be able to add the images, but editing is not recommended as those images will be removed. The issue is being investigated, but we can’t say exactly when it’s going to be fixed.

Kind regards.

Hi there,

Theres a problem with how this plugin reads empty number entries, the ‘Calculate total function’ and does not filter properly whether Server-side processing is enabled or not and for both Integer or Float data types.

When I filter the columns it shows the sum total of all the entries instead of just calculating the filtered total.

When Integer is used as a data type it pulls out a “Non numerical value” PHP warning for all the empty entries instead of reading them as 0.

The only way i managed to get it to work was to manually change all the empty number entries to 0 but this is not practical if one has thousands of empty number entries across multiple gravity forms.

Hello there.

Please be aware that filtering, sorting and searching may not work as expected for Gravity Forms based tables when server side is turned on. This problem is caused by Gravity’s API which we use for the integration. The issue is being investigated, and hopefully we’ll soon have a solution for that.

If your table doesn’t contain a lot of rows, would it be possible to disable server-side processing? Unfortunately, that will also disable editing feature for the table.

How is the column that’s supposed to be showing numerical values stored in the database? Are the empty values stored as NULL? If they are, they should be read correctly by the plugin.

Please feel free to open a pre-purchase ticket on our support platform https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/, and our support manager will help you there?

Kind regards.

Hello, thanks for the quick response, I’ve tried the same scenario on your sandbox mode and the bug is still there.

https://sandbox.gravity.wpdatatables.com/?gf_page=preview&id=7

On the Gaming Form, if I select “male” and skip the “age”(leave it blank) and select the “device” and submit, when I go to the table and filter by “male” it does not show the correct ∑, Avg, Min or Max values. The above scenario doesn’t work correctly whether Server-side processing is on or off. It only filters and calculates correctly when Server-side processing is turned off and there are no blank entries on the “age” field/column.

Its a bug on the plugin that you might want to check out

Hi, thanks for letting us know about this.

We see you opened a support ticket, and one of our support agents will respond soon, hopefully with a solution to the issue.

It’s worth noting that filtering and searching is broken if you use server side processing.

This is particularly relevant if you have a data table with many thousands of rows because you will need the users browsers to load the thousands (or millions!) of rows in order to get filtering to work. For example, if you have a column with “Apples” and “Oranges” in it – there seems to be a 50% chance this column will not be searchable if you use serverside filtering. Instead you need to turn off server side filtering and do all that work in the users browser.

This is pretty bad from a network / load time / and database load point of view.

Currently TMS have a note in the management console and in the help item that says something akin to “filtering on complex gravity forms may fail, and that this is the fault of the gravity forms vendor”. This seems strange when even a ‘single line text entry’ with no additional logic is not searchable.

One of the forms I have an issue with has over 150 data entry fields. They are displayed conditionally based on prior choices. The single line text entry noted above is not part of that setup though, and still fails to be searchable if serverside processing is enabled.

Hi there.

Thank you for reaching out.

When working with a Gravity Forms based table, wpDataTables’ Server-Side processing feature is based on Gravity’s API. The plugin is fetching the values from that API, and regardless of the complexity of the field, if the API doesn’t return the values correctly, filtering, searching and sorting will not work properly either.

Our development team has this on their “to-do” list, to see what we can do with Gravity’s API and fix the issue with filters, sorting and search for Gravity Forms based tables with server-side processing.

Kind regards.

Does this have the ability to only let users view data if they submitted it?

Hello there.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

Yes, with the new versions of wpDataTables and Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables you can allow users to see and edit only own data. The only thing worth mentioning here is that you need to select the User field when choosing which fields will appear in the table.

Best regards.

Hi ! Is there any documentation for the integrated hooks ? I can’t find it at your documentation page.

Hello again.

We’ve provided the link to wpDataTables hooks in the previous comment.

Here’s the link again:

Hello allows to acquire data from wp? for example, by entering the customer code, fill in the form fields with the customer data? thanks marcello

Hi there.

Thank you for your interest in the add-on.

Unfortunately, what you’re trying to do cannot be done with this add-on. It would require some conditional logic between columns and tables, and unfortunately the plugin doesn’t offer that in the included features. Another way of doing that would be through Foreign Keys, but they are not supported with Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables.

Best regards.

Hi. I have this table with some empty rows. How can I hide them? I want to show just the rows with values…

Hi there.

You could do this only with some conditional formatting. For example, select a column where you would add conditional rule:

“If cell value = “_______” Set row CSS class “hide” “

That should automatically hide all rows where there is a blank value in that cell. If it doesn’t automatically hide it, you would need to add a CSS code in main settings of wpDataTables/Custom JS and CSS/Custom CSS:

table.wpDataTable .hide { display: none !important; }

Hope this helps.

Best regards.

Hello,

There seems to be a nice add-on in town.

I just made a purchase and got into a bitter situation.

I think I have to buy 2 separate plug-ins along with this plug-in. In that case, I can return it.

Can you help me, please?

Hi there.

To use Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables, you need to have Gravity Forms and wpDataTables installed, that is correct.

If you do not wish to purchase these two plugins, the add-on will not work, and you can open a ticket under pre-purchase section on our support platform https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/, and our support manager will help you regarding your refund request there.

Best regards.

From what I saw in the statement, I click on the table information and then click the edit button. Can you put the edit function in one of the table fields?

Example Table 1: Name, Email, Phone, Address, View Button, or Edit Button. In the line of the cadastre.

Or

Example Table 2: Name (with link to edit the register), email, telephone, address.

Hi there.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

The Gravity Forms integration for wpDataTables is pulling the information from the Form, and creating a table from it. While you can edit entries in the table, there are still some limitations which you can see in our documentation.

When you say “link to edit the register” – we’re not sure what you mean exactly. When you edit a row, the Form you created comes up, and you’re able to edit it. To have a link inside a table, you either need to enter the data in the Form like “https://www.google.com/”, and set the column type to be “URL”, or leave it as “String”, and add the link using a href, like this: <a href="https://www.google.com/">Google</a>

If you have any further questions about this, please open a pre-purchase ticket on our support platform https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/, and our support manager will help you there.

Best regards.
