I like it a lot, great job. I need to prevent people downloading and saving the documents by all means necessary and also prevent printing of what they are viewing. Ideally I would like to prevent all of the following; 1. No downloading 2. No saving the page (and/or the document) 3. No copy and paste from the documents Just 100% online viewing while they have valid access. Please let me know, thanks!
Thanks maverickboy. Unfortunately the features you want to have are not supported by the plugin right now. Documents are embedded using Google Docs Viewer and Microsoft Office Online services. We cannot tweak them to remove download and copy-paste options.

Hi maverickboy, Just found a workaround to prevent downloading!
1. Upload your document to box.com
2. Make your document public
3. Check ‘Turn Download Off’ from access options
4. Login to WordPress and embed the document.

This is great, I had my first document test online within minutes.
One problem though, with my first test of a Word file, is that I select to not have it available to download, but the small box at the bottom right of the document screen gives the option to download the file.

Thanks for purchasing Embed Any Document Plus.
Please change the viewer from Microsoft Office Online to Google Docs Viewer. That option should go away. (I am guessing that you embedded an office document and the default viewer is Microsoft Office Online.)
Here is how to change it.
1. Edit the page/post
2. Find the shortcode [embeddoc]
3. Change ‘Viewer’ attribute value to viewer="microsoft"

Thanks. I’ve done that, but for some reason, the Google Docs Viewer doesn’t show up on Chrome, though the area is taken up.

It shows up fine in Firefox.

Question. Can a Google Drive doc be embeded, say into a users profile in which they can edit it if it has those permissions set from Google Drive.
This way a user and I can edit a document from their profile and everything be updated live in the cloud of Google Drive.
I assume yes, but not entirely sure if embedding affects any of shared editing features of Google Drive.

Unfortunately, you cannot edit an embedded Google Doc even if you have access to. The embed comes with no any editing tools and we don’t have any control over it.

You have five options to embed documents. 1. Upload document to media library 2. Embed a document from a URL 3. Add from Dropbox 4. Add from Google Drive and 5. Add from Box.com
To be able to embed documents from your Google Drive you need to get API key from Google and add in the plugin’s settings page. Once it’s done, with just one click you can pick any file from Google Drive and embed in your WordPress site.

Currently the plugin works only with WordPress visual editor. But if you have shotcodes enabled for user posts, users can use the shortcode [embeddoc url="http://website.com/doc.pdf"] to embed their documents

Is it possible to add multiple documents at once, i have over 300 PDFs that I want to upload and doing one by one will take forever, it would be awesome if there was a way to import them all at once in bulk, let me know thanks!

You can upload all the files at once in bulk (to Media Library or to your Google Drive Account), but you will have to select and embed documents one by one.

Question as I just thought about it. When uploading a doc directly how does the plugin go about storing the docs? Does it use the default media library or its own library/tab when inserting previously uploaded docs? I didn’t see this in the screenshots or demo, just when adding new documents.

Actually what I was meaning was this… How do you insert (re-use) embeded documents? Do you click on the file in the media library and it will launch the document plugin settings or do you do it from the add document button. Make more sense?
