I've used a competing product for years, but it requires a STUN and TURN servers, which makes it a) complex and b) expensive to set up and run. During calls, I had frequent dropouts for a few seconds on a regular basis, which was frustrating for me and for clients. I wasn't looking for an alternative, but I literally stumbled across Argan while researching for a WordPress plugin. And thank goodness I did because Argan is a superb app.

Argan doesn't need STUN or TURN servers, and runs perfectly on a small VPS or a server in your own home or office network (I run it on my x86 based router).

The instructions and default setup are for Ubuntu Linux, but I run it on Arch Linux - the changes needed in the launcher scripts to do this took less than 5 minutes to write.

Now we come to support. It is BRILLIANT. I had a couple of feature requests which were added in to v2.1.0 in a few days. How good is that? And emails are answered within a couple of hours (depending on time differences between you and Italy).

All in all a great product, with fantastic support. If I could give it, and Honeyside, 10* I would.
